T’is the season for Christmas related columns, fa-la-la-la-etc. I could write about Star Wars: The Force Awakens but that came out Friday so now it’s old hat and, besides, I haven’t seen it yet and, given the crowds, may not be able to see it until after the first of the year so let’s talk about something else, shaaaaall we?

Christmas is a time of peace, love, and goodwill to all unless you’re doing last minute shopping, running from store to store, and in a life and death struggle with some other harried shopper for the last iteration of a particular item that you both must have. So why is it that, aside from Baby Jesus of course, the most identifiable characters connected with the day are anti-heroes – the Grinch, Ebenezer Scrooge, and Mr. Potter (from It’s a Wonderful Life)?

Scar 3D Finally Coming Home to Blu-ray and DVD
It's been a really long road for Jed Weintrob's Scar 3D. From numerous delays to everything in between, the finish line is finally in sight for all those involved.

Phase 4 Film has announced that the film, starring Angela Bettis (Girl, May, "Carrie"), Devon Graye ("Dexter," Husk, Lure), Christopher Titus ("Big Shots"), and Kirby Bliss Blanton ("Hannah Montana," "Entourage," "Zoey 101"), will finally be available on Blu-ray and DVD on March 29th, 2011.

Synopsis

"In the small town of Ovid, Colorado, Joan Burrows (Angela Bettis) awakens in the basement morgue of Ernie Bishop, a local undertaker who secretly tortures, mutilates, and kills teenage girls. Scar 3D Finally Gets A DVD/Blu-ray Release Date
It's been a long road of delays but Jed Weintrob's Scar 3D will finally release on DVD and Blu-ray on March 28th. Angela Bettis(May, Carrie), Devon Graye (Dexter, Husk), Christopher Titus ( Titus), Kirby Bliss Blanton (Hannah Montana) will all star in the Phase 4 release. Phase 4 Films Shows the World its Scar
It's been years since last we heard anything about the Angela Bettis flick Scar 3D, but lo and behold you'll be getting a chance to finally see the movie a lot sooner than you think. This Friday to be exact!

From the Press Release

Berry Meyerowitz, President & CEO of Phase 4 Films, announced today the landmark launch of director Jed Weintrob’s 3D horror film, Scar, the first ever stereoscopic, 3D, video-on-demand film release via all major cable broadcasters on Friday, October 1, 2010. The 3D film will be available to consumers who own 3D HDTV sets and liquid crystal shutter glasses. Phase 4 will also offer a traditional 2D version of Scar on VOD on the same day.
