Brooklyn Nine-Nine remains one of the best network comedies of the last decade. This precinct full of silly, yet caring detectives has made us laugh, cry, and almost every other emotion in-between over the course of its eight seasons.

There’s not a single season that’s remotely bad, per se, but there are certainly some that hit the mark better than others. Stephanie Beatriz is opening up about a recent reunion she had with the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast which they used to remember their late co-star André Braugher.

The actor died in December 2023 at the age of 61 following a brief illness. Beatriz and her former co-stars, such as Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, and Chelsea Peretti, saw each other in March to remember Braugher.

“[It was] a chance for all of us to get together and make each other laugh,” Beatriz told People about the reunion. “And it was also a chance to talk about André. It came up immediately, and then we put it away for a while.”

She continued, “But at the end of the dinner, by the end, we were all just sharing stories about him and our memories of him. And he lives in our hearts forever and ever.”

One of the funniest sitcoms of the decade, Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows the detectives of the 99th Precinct in Brooklyn, New York, as they balance their personal lives and action-packed jobs. Even with all the great characters on the show, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine captains managed to stand out. Over the years, the titular station in the Fox-turned-NBC sitcom went through several chief officers. Each had varying serving time, not to mention different rapports with the rest of the squad. At the end of the day, their respective stints make the team and the viewers more confident that Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) is the best one for the job.

The events of Brooklyn Nine-Nine were kicked off when the no-nonsense and stoic Captain Holt became the precinct's leader.

Apparently eight seasons together was not enough. The cast of comedy-drama Brooklyn Nine-Nine gathered for a meet-up that was heavy on reminiscing.
