It was still early on in Tales from the Crypt when Fright Night director Tom Holland delivered “Four-Sided Triangle,” an episode that made all those before it seem tasteful in comparison. Based on a story found in EC’s Shock SuspenStories, “Four-Sided Triangle” follows its source material in the same way that other Crypt episodes did: approximately. In particular, this one adaptation adds some meat to the comic’s skinny frame. The changes may be seen as unpleasant, even for this anthology show, but they’re also instrumental in making the episode memorable.

The comic begins with farmhand Annie already being infatuated with her inhuman lover, and aside from that, there’s little else to learn about her. Whereas in Holland and James Tugend’s screen adaptation, Annie’s equivalent of Mary Jo, played by future star Patricia Arquette, is not only given a backstory, she now has more agency in the episode’s outcome.

Exclusive: Moonlight’s André Holland is the latest A-list figure to turn to the world of scripted podcasting.

Holland, who starred as Kevin in the Oscar-winning film, will feature in mordant comedy The Ms Phoenix Rising alongside Anthony Arkin (Succession), Susan Blommaert (The Blacklist), Estelle Parsons (The Conners) and Jeremy O. Harris (Slave Play).

Created by Trish Harnetiaux, the playwright behind Tin Cat Shoes and How to Get into Buildings, the six-part series comes from Playwrights Horizons Soundstage.

The show follows cruise ship The Ms Phoenix Rising, which sets sail in six weeks, marking the relaunch of the cruise ship industry after a prolonged shutdown. Urgent, budget-driven planning makes for a tense front office at Dane Cruising while they race to secure their place in history with fast marketing ideas and a reckless social campaign. Whose idea was it again to hype the “Christopher Columbus Route” through the Bahamas? Whatever.

"This would look very nice in my dining room." Ah yes, nothing like a good story about a struggling artist. But this short film has a bit more to offer. Victor in Paradise is a bleak dark comedy short film written and directed by Brooklyn filmmaker Brendan McHugh, and after initially premiering at the Palm Springs International Shortfest, it's now available to watch online. When his landlord arrives to collect long overdue rent, Victor, a daydreaming painter of little means, desperately attempts to gather money needed to stave off eviction. He tries to sell some of his paintings, but it doesn't exactly work out. Poor guy. Starring Nicholas Braun (from "Succession") as Victor, along with Colby Minifie, Mark Blum, Susan Blommaert, and Buddy Duress. There's layers to this short film that many shorts don't even consider. Beyond that, it's just stylistically clever - the film has a bit of a Wes Anderson vibe.

Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer's remake of Stephen King's Pet Sematary is heading our way next month, and we couldn't be more excited. The movie held it's World Premiere at this year's SXSW Film Festival last week and has been snatching up positive reviews left and right ever since. Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “The Cryptobanker,” the 10th episode of “The Blacklist” Season 6.

Following Coy Stewart’s introduction as the innocent inmate Vontae Jones on the sixth season of NBC’s “The Blacklist,” fans have likened his relationship with Red Reddington (James Spader) to that of Batman and Robin. Had the big jailhouse escape plan featured in the 10th episode, “The Cryptobanker,” actually worked out, it would have been an astute connection.

As it stands those comparisons will have to wait.

Mr. Kaplan’s back, and she’s not pulling any punches.

Ultimately, the fact that she’s been after Red wasn’t a surprise, but that didn’t make the buildup or the reveal any less exciting.

At the same time, it was a smart move to put The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 16 and The Blacklist Season 4 Episode 17 back to back rather than waiting a week in between.

Because while the second part of the two-hour event filled in a lot of holes and revealed Kate’s past, the present-day aspect of the story was really about the punchline ending.

So I could understand people being frustrated if they had to wait a week after the reveal only to see that current storyline does not move forward a ton.

And really, the two episodes almost work better as a whole, making the “event” all about Kate’s return and fantastically kicking...

The Blacklist is back!

After a two-month break, NBC's crime thriller returns with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday. The Blacklist left off with the revelation that Raymond Reddington's (James Spader) own bodyguard and right-hand man, Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq), may have been the one who betrayed him. The why will be revealed soon, but with Dembe on the lam, Red and his crew are working against the clock to find out the truth.

"Everybody's going to see if we can find Dembe and what he did to Red," series star Megan Boone told Et on NBC's midseason premiere red carpet in New York City last month.

The Blacklist wrapped up last week with Berlin kidnapping Red’s ex-wife Naomi (Mary Louise Parker), and showing Red that his threat to send her back to him piece by piece was real, mailing him her finger.

This week, Red (James Spader) is first seen bringing Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) to his interrogation/ kill room, from which he’s been trying to learn the location of his wife. While he’s with Kaplan, he gets a call from Henrik who alerts him to a Warsaw bank robbery and that he knows what the attempted robbers were after. Seeming slightly off his game, Red notices that one of the men he thought he’d killed is stirring and shoots him dead.

Meanwhile, Naomi is still with Berlin (Peter Stormare), trying to ensure her safety by claiming that Red no longer cares enough about her to try and rescue her.

Paramount Pictures is looking to bring back the 1989 horror classic Pet Sematary with a new remake.

1408 screenwriter Matt Greenberg recently turned in a draft to the studio and it is said that Paramount is currently seeking a high-level director for the project. The studio declined comment on the development of this new Pet Sematary remake.

The original 1989 Pet Sematary starred Fred Gwynne and revolves around a family that moves to a sleepy Maine town, where they bury their dead son in a supernatural pet cemetery that brings him back to life with dire consequences.

The movie is based off the book by Stephen King, who has become a hot commodity in Hollywood once again. A franchise is being built around his novel series The Dark Tower at Universal. And we reported earlier this week that an adaptation of his novel The Stand is moving forward at Warner Bros.
