Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the Democratic powerbroker who served California and her political party for more than 30 years, becoming the longest-serving senator in U.S. history, died Thursday night, her office has confirmed. She was 90.

James Sauls, chief of staff to Sen. Feinstein, released the following statement this morning:

“Sadly, Senator Feinstein passed away last night at her home in Washington, D.C. Her passing is a great loss for so many, from those who loved and cared for her to the people of California that she dedicated her life to serving. Senator Feinstein never backed away from a fight for what was just and right. At the same time, she was always willing to work with anyone, even those she disagreed with, if it meant bettering the lives of Californians or the betterment of our nation. There are few women who can be called senator, chairman, mayor, wife, mom and grandmother.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) has filed a lawsuit against her late husband’s estate alleging that she is a victim of financial elder abuse and that the trustees breached her trust. She is seeking that these trustees be removed due to her claims.

This lawsuit was filed in the California Superior Court in the County of San Francisco on August 8 by Sen. Feinstein’s daughter, Katherine Feinstein. Katherine currently has the power of attorney for her mother.

Dianne is a member of the Senate for the Democrats, who currently have a narrow majority of 51 to 49. She has recently suffered multiple ailments, including a visit to the hospital after a fall. She additionally was battling shingles which required her to take a leave of absence from the Senate for multiple weeks.

She is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which plays a crucial role in confirming federal judges after presidential appointments.

As Biden’s campaign sees a big boost in new bundlers and donors with momentum swinging his way as the more moderate alternative to Bernie Sanders, the event sold out and had to be moved outside at Lansing’s pad to accommodate all the 350 or so guests. Tickets started at $1,000 per person.

Just over a month after Donald Trump was in town for a pricey Beverly Hills fundraiser, Joe Biden tonight told a deep-pocketed Hollywood crowd in the same neighborhood that the time for change is here.

“I promise you if we elect a Democrat this time — I predict to you whether it’s me or someone else – but I guarantee you if it’s me, what’s gonna happen is, we’re going to see this country come together like it hasn’t in a long time,” the ex-Vice-President said at the $2,500 to $10,000 a ticket event at the home of Barack Obama’s former Ambassador to Spain and HBO executive James Costos and his partner and ex-White House interior designer Michael Smith.
