Ridley Scott’s 48% Rotten Tomatoes Action Comedy Starring A Marvel Star, 50, Finds Its Plan B on a Free Streaming Home
Image
Remember the story of the fictional Special Forces team who were on the run for a crime they allegedly didn’t commit and wanted to clear their names? That’sThe A-Team— the action production that first came to life as an NBC series that ran from January 23, 1983, to March 8, 1987. Fast-forward to 2010, the series was revived as a movie by producers Stephen J. Cannell, the late Tony Scott, and his brother Ridley Scott, who also served as executive producers. That movie is now available to stream for free in the U.S., where it will hopefully find success after its not-so-impressive release.

TheA-Team is currently streaming on Tubi, where it debuted on July 1, 2025, over a decade after 20th Century Fox released it in theaters on June 11, 2010. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who gave it a 48% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while praising the cast and action sequences but criticizing the script.

Who Is Ultraman In James Gunn's Superman? The Villain Twist, Explained
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Superman."

Superman's archenemy is, without a doubt, Lex Luthor. But the problem the movies have always run into is that Luthor is a normal guy; one punch from Superman and he's dust. So how do you make Lex stand toe-to-toe with the Man of Steel? Traditionally, there have been two options: Either put Lex in a suit of armor, or give him a superpowered enforcer.

Superman movies have always gone with the latter, and James Gunn's new "Superman" is no different. Lex's (Nicholas Hoult) muscle is Ultraman. Yes, the rumors were true, Ultraman does appear in "Superman" as a key villain. However, he's a bit different than the comic book version.

During "Superman," Ultraman stays silent and wears a full body black suit, with a goggled mask resembling Doomsday's.

But the hints to his true self aren't subtle. He has...

Burt Reynolds' Most Beloved Movie Spawned A High-Speed '80s Franchise
Image
Everyone can name the highest-grossing film of 1977 -- George Lucas' "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope" -- as it kicked off a high-profile sci-fi franchise that persists to this day. Other big hits from that year included Steven Spielberg's alien abduction thriller "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (a movie inspired by Spielberg's real-life fascination with alien life) and John Badham's downbeat disco drama "Saturday Night Fever" (a film that John Travolta trained "Rocky"-style to prepare for). One of the more notable yet less-discussed success stories of 1977, however, was Hal Needham's laidback beer-run action-comedy "Smokey and the Bandit," a film that raked in roughly $127 million at the box office against a $4.3 million budget. That's like a $23 million movie earning $677 million in 2025.

"Smokey and the Bandit" is a playfully rebellious film about a Southern sports car owner, nicknamed Bandit (Burt Reynolds), who is tasked...

An NCIS Star Voiced Superman In A Justice League Animated Movie
Image
Some days, it feels like every name in Hollywood has been a superhero at some point, and TV stars have been getting in on that action for decades. From Superman's radio serials that turned into TV shows, all the way toward the massive "event miniseries" that pop up on HBO Max and Disney+ in the modern streaming era. A fan-favorite name will get the opportunity to play an iconic DC or Marvel character down the line if they just keep grinding, and sometimes those casting choices make all the sense in the world. For example, "NCIS" star Mark Harmon playing Superman is one of those moments that sounds fascinating in your head, and worked out to perfection in the world of DC animation.

Reading this, you might not remember the "NCIS" star playing the Man of Steel in any comic book project, but he did voice Superman back in "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

15 Best DC Animated Movies (That Aren’t About Superman or Batman)
Image
DC has a long history of animated adaptations. They range from TV shows to full-length feature films and even popular video game franchises. The DC Universe plans to add more animated shows, including the recent Creature Commandos. Unfortunately, most of its animated features focus entirely on either Batman or Superman.

While Batman and Superman are iconic figures, finding any DC content that does not revolve around them is a challenge. Wonder Woman has a few specials, but most characters struggle to stand out by themselves. Thankfully, some DC animated movies focus on characters besides the two legendary heroes.

Updated February 11, 2025, by Anthony Jeanetta. DC’s animation team remains one of the most consistent producers of quality superhero movies. This list has been updated to include more of the best DC animated movies that aren’t about Superman or Batman.

Kevin Conroy's Final Batman Performance Addressed by Crisis on Infinite Earths Producer
Image
Kevin Conroy's voice can be heard in his final performance as Batman in the new animated movie Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three. Looking back, DC Animated Universe executive producer Butch Lukic reflected on Conroy recording his lines for what turned out to be his last hurrah as the Dark Knight.

Per ComicBookMovie.com, Lukic shared how it was even joked about during the recording session that Conroy was recording Batman lines for the final time. However, it wasn't truly intended at the time for that to be the final performance of Conroy as the character. Lukic noted how nobody knew at the time that Conroy was ill, and he's not even sure if the voice actor himself was aware just yet.

The A-Team Movie Is Actually Kind Of Good
Image
I love The A-Team (which we also covered on an episode of Gone But Not Forgotten). I grew up watching the series and had the toys, the Mr. T Cereal, the whole bit. I wasn’t unlike many of my Gen X brothers and sisters in that regard. It was fun, insane, action-packed, and Murdock was my guy.

Over the last few decades, we’ve seen many of these 70s and 80s TV series be redone as feature films or new series for television. The Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky and Hutch, and the list goes on and on. Typically these films are done as just pure comedy. There are the two I just mentioned plus Land of the Lost…and in the case of these three they didn’t stick the landing.

But sometimes, you get a filmmaker and a group who know the assignment and decide to try and...

Image
The first full-length trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three has just hit (via Toonado.com), and it teases what looks to be a high-stakes finale to this animated trilogy (and the Tomorrowverse as we know it).

In terms of cameos, the trailer ends with another Batman: The Animated Series tease. Batman Beyond also appears, but perhaps the biggest surprise comes when we return to the world of the Super Friends!

Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths - Part Three Cover Art Reveals The Movie's Lead Characters
Image
When the news broke during last year's San Diego Comic-Con that the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book was being turned into a three-part animated movie, DC fans rejoiced.

The CW previously adapted the story for the Arrowverse, but this version had the opportunity to bring together countless animated characters from across the Dcau in an ambitious retelling of the story. Unfortunately, the opening two chapters have been mostly disappointing.

There's still a chance it will end on a high note, of course, and a first look at Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three's cover art has now found its way online (via Toonado.com).

Recreating the iconic shot of Superman holding the downed Supergirl, we also see Mister Terrific, Batman, Lex Luthor, Hawkgirl, Hourman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker. Looming in the background is the massive Anti-Monitor.

While a Watchmen movie is still expected to be released later this year,...

Crisis On Infinite Earths - Part Three Teaser Features Kevin Conroy's Batman And Mark Hamill's Joker
Image
When we first learned that Warner Bros. Animation was developing a three-part Crisis on Infinite Earths movie, the response from fans was largely positive.

While the Tomorrowverse has been a little hit-or-miss, it's also delivered a lot of very good movies. Needless to say, the prospect of mixing DC characters from that world with so many other animated franchises was undeniably exciting.

Unfortunately, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One and Part Two proved to be mostly underwhelming affairs, with the only noteworthy cameo being Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond in the second instalment. As exciting as that may sound, he had no more than a couple of lines in the movie and failed to make much of an impact.

There may, however, be a chance the final instalment redeems itself.

We've been hearing rumblings for a while about the late Kevin Conroy's final Batman performance being in...

Kevin Conroy's Batman And Mark Hamill's Joker Will Share The Animated Screen One More Time
Image
Arguably the best Batman and Joker combo in history is getting back together one last time, and the reunion comes as a pretty sizable surprise. Mark Hamill will once again reprise his role as The Joker alongside the late Kevin Conroy's Batman. Conroy voiced the Caped Crusader for decades, from "Batman: The Animated Series" in the early '90s through Conroy's much-too-early death in 2022. We knew Conroy's voice would be used as Batman once again, and now it has been confirmed that Hamill will be reuniting with his former co-star in one of Conroy's final posthumous performances.

According to IGN, Hamill's Joker and Conroy's Batman are both set to appear in the upcoming "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths -- Part Three." Burt Reynolds Smokey And The Bandit Movies, Ranked Worst To Best
Image
Burt Reynolds' Smokey And The Bandit movies are some of the late, great actors' most popular. The tar paid his dues as an actor thanks to appearances in TV shows like Alfred Hitchcock Presents or Reynolds' short stint on Western Gunsmoke, alongside b-movies like Operation C.I.A. He finally broke through thanks to classic 1972 survival thriller Deliverance and became one of the biggest stars of the decade. Alongside Smokey And The Bandit - which was the second highest-grossing film of 1977 behind Star Wars - he appeared in hit after hit, including The Longest Yard.

Sadly, some poor choices during the '80s saw his career wane, including City Heat, which paired him with friend Clint Eastwood. In his later career, Reynolds still turned in some great work, including Boogie Nights - though he famously loathed the film - in addition to working constantly. Marvel’s Midnight Suns Cast: Every Character and Voice Actor
Image
While properties such as Marvel and DC Comics sport countless characters who shine on their own, arguably some of the most memorable stories feature disparate heroes banding together to take down threats larger than anyone can handle alone.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the latest game by Firaxis Games, the studio best known for the modern Xcom franchise. The game is loosely based on a team of the same name, which features a rotating roster of Marvel’s more gothic and magical characters. In the comics, the Midnight Suns’ members teamed up to fight Lilith, Mother of Demons, and the Midnight Suns game follows the same plot but with characters from throughout the Marvel universe. Recently discharged Marine sniper John Stewart is at a crossroads in his life, one which is only complicated by receiving an extraterrestrial ring which grants him the powers of the Green Lantern of Earth. Unfortunately, the ring doesn’t come with instructions – but it does come with baggage, like a horde of interplanetary killers bent on eliminating every Green Lantern in the universe. Now, with the aid of the light-hearted Green Arrow, Adam Strange and Hawkgirl, this reluctant soldier must journey into the heart of a galactic Rann/Thanagar war and somehow succeed where all other Green Lanterns have failed.

To be completely honest with you, I didn’t even know that Green Lantern: Beware My Power even existed until today when I watched the film,...

Once Upon a Time in America Is Every Bit as Great a Gangster Movie as The Godfather
Image
This article contains Once Upon a Time in America spoilers.

The Godfather is a great movie, possibly the best ever made. Its sequel, The Godfather, Part II, often follows it in the pantheon of classic cinema, some critics even believe it is the better film. Robert Evans, head of production at Paramount in the early 1970s, wanted The Godfather to be directed by an Italian American. Francis Ford Coppola was very much a last resort. The studio’s first choice was Sergio Leone, but he was getting ready to make his own gangster epic, Once Upon a Time in America. Though less known, it is equally magnificent.

Robert De Niro, as David “Noodles” Aaronson, and James Woods, as Maximillian “Max” Bercovicz, make up a dream gangster film pairing in Once Upon a Time in America, on par with late 1930s audiences seeing Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney team for The Roaring Twenties...

Smokey and the Bandit TV Series Looks to Revive the Drive-In Double Feature Genre
Image
Smokey and the Bandit, the 1977 comedy classic that cemented the superstardom of the late Burt Reynolds, will soon make an audacious attempt to smuggle itself back into the pop culture picture, with a television series now in the works at Universal Content Productions.

David Gordon Green has been tapped to develop, write, executive-produce and direct the prospective pilot for a new small screen take on the Southern, car-chase-centric, antihero-hailing Universal film franchise on behalf of studio subsidiary Ucp. Green will write alongside Brian Sides, a frequent collaborator, who also directs and produces documentary shows such as The Horn and Alaska: The Last Frontier. They’ll be joined by executive producers in Green’s cohorts from Rough House Pictures, notably Danny McBride, and Seth MacFarlane via his Fuzzy Door banner. While no details were divulged, a desire to revive a dwindling cinematic institution is telegraphed with a description that reads:

David Gordon Green at an event for Snow Angels (2007)
‘Smokey and the Bandit’ Series From David Gordon Green in the Works at Ucp
David Gordon Green at an event for Snow Angels (2007)
David Gordon Green is developing a series adaptation of “Smokey and the Bandit” for Ucp, the studio announced Wednesday.

The project, based on the 1977 film starring Burt Reynolds and Sally Field, is described as “an epic adventure of family, small-town crime, unlikely heroes, legend and legacy. Inspired by the genre of 70s and 80s drive-in double-features, the series explores the crossroads where humble realities meet those larger-than-life, all in a blast of tailpipe exhaust.”

Green will direct the pilot and co-write with Brian Sides. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins of Fuzzy Door will executive produce under their overall deal with Ucp, alongside Green, Danny McBride, Jody Hill and Brandon James of Rough House Pictures.

In a statement, Green linked the project to his experience growing up in Texas. “Growing up in the south, ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ was an iconic franchise for me,” he said. “The legacy of these characters...

‘Dance Til Dawn’ at 30: The Team Reflects on ‘Unusual Casting Process,’ #MeToo Relevance and DJ Dick
The spring and summer of 1988 were consumed with a writers’ strike within the film and television industry, but one project that launched in the fall came out of it unscathed: “Dance ‘Til Dawn,” an original television movie about Hoover High’s senior prom first aired on NBC Oct. 23, 1988. The movie was a who’s who of 1980s television — from Kelsey Grammer and Alan Thicke, to Christina Applegate, Tempestt Bledsoe and Tracey Gold — and its multi-generational casting allowed it to be an early pioneer of content aimed at a co-viewing audience. It was also a love letter to Los Angeles, utilizing iconic locations such as the Cocoanut Grove at the Ambassador Hotel as its soundstage. Now, 30 years after its initial release, “Dance ‘Til Dawn” also finds new relevance within the era of #MeToo and Time’s Up.

“The whole idea of a prom was a universal thing for everybody — everybody had...

Review: Batman: The Brave and the Bold The Complete Third Season
Well, it’s about time. For the last twenty-five years or so, we’ve had one animated Batman series after another but to be honest only two are really good: Batman the Animated Series and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The latter has been slowly coming out on Blu-Ray with season one in 2013 and season two in 2015. This month, we’re getting the third and final season and the good news is that it is as entertaining as remembered.

After increasingly odd interpretations of Batman, Warner Animation decided to go retro and bring back the Batman of the 1960s, who was not afraid to operate in daylight and would partner with just about anyone in a mask as the need arose. Producer James Tucker saw to it that it honored the comic the series took its name from while modernizing it with contemporary characters and characterizations. The result was...

‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ Review (PS4)
It is fair to say that Activision haven’t handled the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare well. The release of the game in such a restricted way created bad press, and an unpopularity around the release. The question is though, is Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare actually any good?

There are certain rules I make for myself when I play Call of Duty, and that makes it a more tolerable game for me. One of those is to turn of voice chat, to get rid of the toxic nature of the game. While it is annoying that you can’t “block all” on the menus, it is a rule I stick to. Even taking that into consideration, I have become a fan of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Before I get onto the multiplayer though, what about the campaign?

Last year, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 I...
