Boberg takes Liberty with new purchase
Liberty International Entertainment has been acquired by music-industry pioneer Jay Boberg and private equity firm Clarity Partners. Boberg, co-founder of IRS Records and former president of MCA Records, will relaunch Liberty as Liberation Entertainment and become its chairman and CEO. Genius Products will handle DVD distribution of most of the 250 films and 2,4000 hours of TV programming acquired in the deal.
