Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Mummy, the Wolf Man, the Invisible Man – Universal has brought them all back to the screen in the decades since their glory days in the 1930s and ’40s. But one classic Universal monster who hasn’t had a new movie since the 1950s is the Creature from the Black Lagoon, a.k.a. the Gill Man. The closest we’ve gotten is the unofficial version of the creature that was seen in the 1987 classic The Monster Squad… but last month, it was reported that genre regular James Wan and his production company Atomic Monster are developing “a grounded modernized retelling” of Creature from the Black Lagoon that will lean into “visceral horror while paying respect to the original classic.” Now, Deadline has learned that this Creature from the Black Lagoon reboot will be written by Sean Tretta.

The following contains spoilers for Season 1 of Terminator Zero, now streaming on Netflix.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Terminator Zero is the fact that Skynet isn't the only artificial intelligence in this narrative. This second AI is the entity known as Kokoro. It gives the franchise a fresh feel. 2019's Terminator: Dark Fate moved away from Skynet, admittedly, when it introduced Legion in a rebooted timeline.
But the existence of a second AI in this particular timeline is noteworthy because Skynet still exists. It's not defunct or replaced by Legion. With that in mind, here is a comprehensive analysis of Kokoro. And how she is being set up to change the property in a massive way.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the Terminator franchise has been one of the most popular of all time. While the recent movies didn't get as much love, the James Cameron films remain top-tier stuff. To that point, Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are regarded as some of the best action movies ever.
Now, Netflix is getting in on the sci-fi property. This comes via the anime, Terminator Zero. Interestingly, from the latest trailer, it looks like the war between man and machine will be taking shocking twists and turns in Japan. It foreshadows a ton of unpredictable swerves in a medium that holds so much potential for spectacle.

Quick Links The Terminator Rights Land With the Halcyon Company Trouble While Filming Terminator Salvation Legal Troubles Hint at What's to Come for the Terminator Franchise The Terminator Franchise Stalled After Salvation Terminator Salvation aimed to reboot the franchise with a new trilogy, but legal troubles and bankruptcy halted plans. Despite a star-studded cast and high budget, Terminator Salvation failed to meet box office expectations. Critical reception was mixed, with fans now reevaluating the film's attempt at something different.
In 2009, Terminator Salvation was released as an attempt to soft reboot the franchise and set up a brand-new trilogy. While the film is a sequel to 2003's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, the purpose of Salvation was to set up a new story with a familiar character in the lead. The fourth installment would be the first, and so far only, Terminator film not to feature Arnold Schwarzenegger, although his likeness briefly appears digitally.
