Macaulay Culkin took to Instagram on Monday (March 31) to share a message with Investigation Discovery, encouraging the network to “take it easy” on former child stars. Culkin, who rose to fame as a child star in movies like Home Alone, Uncle Buck, and Richie Rich, shared a photo of the Investigation Discovery logo alongside the caption, “Dear ID, Please take it easy on the kiddos.” He added, “We’ve all been through the wringer. No one wants to feel exploited. Don’t pile on. Love, Macaulay Culkin.” Culkin’s message was posted the same day ID aired the second episode of its Hollywood Demons docuseries, titled “Child Stars Gone Violent,” centering on child actors from the 1990s. The episode focused on the lives of Home Improvement‘s Zachery Ty Bryan, Family Ties’s Brian Bonsall, That’s So Raven’s Orlando Brown and others who have been through various troubles...

As a former child star himself, Macaulay Culkin gets it.
The actor, who rose to fame at 10 years old, playing Kevin in the holiday classic films Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has a message for those making documentaries about child actors in Hollywood.
“Dear ID, Please take it easy on the kiddos. We’ve all been through the wringer. No one wants to feel exploited. Don’t pile on. Love, Macaulay Culkin,” he wrote on Instagram Monday, alongside a photo of Investigation Discovery’s logo.
Culkin’s post was seemingly referring to the network’s Hollywood Demons docuseries’ second episode, titled “Child Stars Gone Violent,” which aired Monday night. The show looks to “uncover the shocking stories of celebrities’ lives. Some rise to fame only to fall from stardom, while others reveal fame’s tragic, dark side in ways one could never imagine,” according to its description,...

In the first episode of the ID six-parter, April Price recounted a series of allegedly inappropriate sexual encounters she had with the actor in 1983. Price was 13 years old and Collins lived next door to her aunt and herself in a Los Angeles apartment complex. “This is bad. This is really bad. I don’t know what I’m going to do,” Price at one point in the episode recalled after finding herself along with Collins in his apartment, and he emerged from his bedroom without any clothes on.

7th Heaven actor Jeremy London comes to the defense of Stephen Collins in Hollywood Demons, an Investigation Discovery series premiering Monday that promises to “focus on different scandals and tragedies” in Tinseltown.
The first episode of the six-episode series focuses on Collins, who admitted back in 2014 that he sexually assaulted three underaged girls but was never charged. London, who played a minister on the drama that aired on the WB and CW from 1996 to 2007, spoke to ID about his memories working with the actor.
“What I noticed about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras is that I never noticed a damn thing about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras,” said London. “He never crossed any lines of any kind.”
London joined 7th Heaven for the seventh and eighth seasons to play Chandler Hampton, a young minister who temporarily fills in for Collins’ Reverend Eric Camden.

Michael Dorn's Worf has appeared in more Star Trek television shows and films than any other character, and he remains one of the franchise's most beloved characters. Lieutenant Worf first appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation and spent most of the show's run serving as Security Chief on the USS Enterprise-d commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). As the only Klingon in Starfleet, Worf often struggled to reconcile his Klingon heritage with his Starfleet duties. Most of Worf's Tng stories reflect this tension and explore Worf's involvement in Klingon politics.
While mapping out Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry envisioned that the United Federation of Planets had achieved peace with the Klingon Empire by the 24th century. Worf was included among the Enterprise-d crew to reflect this partnership. Despite this, Worf was not originally intended to be a major character, as Roddenberry wanted...

Technically, Star Trek: The Next Generation's Lt. Worf (Michael Dorn) was the son of Mogh, but he was raised on Earth by Russian parents. Worf was one of Tng's original cast members, and he served for several years as the Chief of Security on the USS Enterprise-d under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). Because Worf was raised by human parents and was the only Klingon in Starfleet, he felt disconnected from his Klingon heritage and sought out ways to honor his Klingon roots.
In Star Trek: The Next Generation season 4, episode 2, "Family," Worf's adoptive parents, Sergey (Theodore Bikel) and Helena Rozhenko (Georgia Brown), visited him aboard the Enterprise following his discommendation from the Klingon Empire. Somewhat ironically, Worf eventually came to embody the Klingon ideal of honor better than many Klingons who had been raised among their own kind. After Tng came to an end, Worf...

Brian Bonsall started acting on Family Ties when he was 5 years old, playing the role of Andy Keaton through the show's final three seasons.
He said of his time on Family Ties: "Good memories for sure. They were a second family to me, growing up doing that ... Michael J. Fox used to come pick me up in his Ferrari, taught me to dive into a pool. It was so comfortable hanging out."
The break helped him appear in more 1990s shows, including Father Hood and Blank Check, until he retired in 1995. He later shifted his career and pursued his passion for music with several bands.
Bonsall found himself in trouble when he was arrested in Boulder, Colo.

Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) and Lt. Commander Worf (Michael Dorn) are exemplary Starfleet Officers on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but they are very different and far apart in terms of being fathers. On Star Trek: The Next Generation, Lt. Worf learned he had a son with K'Ehleyr (Suzie Plakson) named Alexander Rozhenko (Brian Bonsall) who came to live with Worf on the USS Enterprise-d. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine introduced Commander Sisko as a widower and single father raising his son, Jake Sisko (Cirroc Lofton).
Lt. Commander Worf joined Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in season 4 and became Captain Sisko's Starfleet Strategic Operations Officer. Worf preferred to live aboard the USS Defiant, which he commanded in lieu of Captain Sisko. During the Dominion War, in which Captain Sisko played a pivotal role, Worf split his time between Starfleet and the Klingon Defense Forces, often serving with his friend,...

The crew of the USS Enterprise-d on Star Trek: The Next Generation did something that would have baffled Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner). As Captain of the USS Enterprise, Kirk devoted his life to Starfleet, going above and beyond to look out for his ship and his crew. Although Kirk had a son with Dr. Carol Marcus (Bibi Besch), she chose to raise their son David (Merritt Butrick) alone, as Kirk was always off traveling the galaxy. Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), too, chose to focus on his Starfleet career rather than starting a family.
Both Kirk and Picard came to see their USS Enterprise crews as their family, but Jean-Luc later got a chance that Kirk never did. In Star Trek: Picard season 3, Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) crashed back into Jean-Luc's life, revealing that she had given birth to their son, Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), twenty years before.

Worf's declaration of love for Deanna Troi in Star Trek: Picard season 3 hints at a long-lasting bond between them. Despite Worf's past romances, his reunion with Troi suggests unresolved feelings that have lingered for years. Worf's admiration for Troi could stem from her support and understanding during challenging moments in his life.
Captain Worf (Michael Dorn) declared his love for Counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) in Star Trek: Picard season 3, but has the Klingon really been pining for her since Star Trek: The Next Generation? Worf and Deanna embarked on a brief romance in Tng season 7 in a storyline that divided fans. Tng had already established that Troi had a romantic past with Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), so pairing her with Worf was unexpected and unwelcome. Star Trek: The Next Generation offers family-friendly episodes with relatable characters for kids new to the franchise. Episodes like "A Fistful of Datas" and "The Game" provide humorous and adventurous storylines perfect for young viewers. Through themes of friendship, grief, and imagination, Tng introduces children to moral dilemmas in a entertaining way.
Star Trek: The Next Generation may not have been geared toward children, but the Star Trek franchise has always been relatively family-friendly. Alexander Rozhenko, son of Lt. Worf, had a human name because he was raised among humans. The clash between Worf's Klingon heritage and human upbringing caused many problems for him in Star Trek, which is why he wanted a different path for his son. Alexander took on the surname Rozhenko from Worf's adoptive human parents and eventually reconciled with his father and forged his own path.
There's a perfectly good reason why Alexander Rozhenko (Brian Bonsall), the son of Star Trek: The Next Generation's Lt. Worf (Michael Dorn) has a human name and not a Klingon one. Alexander was introduced in the Tng episode "Reunion", and appeared in eight episodes of Tng and two episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Star Trek recast Alexander Rozhenko multiple times due to the Klingon aging plot hole and the desire for different actors to bring something new to the role. The first actor to play Alexander, Jon Steuer, was deemed too shy to convincingly portray a young Klingon, leading to his recasting. Despite the challenges of Klingon aging, Alexander appeared to age normally between seasons 5 and 7 of The Next Generation, and a future version of him, played by James Sloyan, traveled back in time to convince Worf to send him to a Klingon training academy.
Star Trek recast the character of Alexander Rozhenko, son of Worf (Michael Dorn) multiple times in the 1990s, for a variety of reasons. First introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation as the son of Worf and half-Human diplomat K'Ehleyr (Suzie Plakson), Alexander had a fraught relationship with his father. Star Trek regularly relies on the recreational simulator to explore genres outside the sci-fi constraints of the franchise, and here are 20 of the very best holodeck episodes. During Star Trek: The Original Series, if the writers wanted to tell a gangster story or restage the gunfight at the Ok Corral, there had to be a convoluted sci-fi explanation. The introduction of the holodeck changed all that, allowing various Star Trek shows to put a sci-fi spin on sports movies, spy thrillers, and World War 2 movies.
First introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the holodeck has provided Star Trek with some of the most enjoyable and emotional episodes of all time. While holodeck episodes are often an excuse to cut loose, they can also be a means to explore mental health or the existential concept of reality itself. Here are 20 of the best holodeck episodes from across the entire Star Trek franchise.

The 1980s were a long time ago, and while Michael J. Fox is still so well known around the world, it may be difficult to remember just how big he really was. Think about it this way: his Classic TV sitcom Family Ties made its debut in 1982. Two years later, NBC introduced The Cosby Show, which became an absolute ratings sensation. Then the network placed Family Ties right behind that series, resulting in it becoming the second highest rated show on TV. Michael's comic brilliance caught the attention of producer Steven Spielberg and director Robert Zemeckis, and he was given permission from the show's creator, Gary David Goldberg, to shoot Family Ties during the day and the feature film Back to the Future at night. That film became the biggest moneymaker of 1985, turned the low budget Teen Wolf (shot earlier but released after Bttf) into a hit, and elevated the...

What’s old is new again. Or at least prime for a reboot of some sort. Playbill.com is reporting that Family Ties, the sitcom that turned Michael J. Fox into a household name, is being turned into a stage play. Araca Group, the production company behind such well known plays as Wicked and Book of Mormon, will lead the project. They’ve already signed on Kleban Award winner Daniel Goldstein to write the script. The Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning sitcom, which ran on NBC from 1982-89, centers on former hippies (Michael Gross, Meredith Baxter) and their experiences raising their family in suburbia. Fox played their son Alex, a young Republican. Justine Batemen and Tina Yothers were cast as the two daughters. Later in the show’s run, the family had another child, Andrew (Brian Bonsall). “Family Ties is a timeless comedy featuring a close-knit American family with vastly differing interests and politics,...

It's like you can't get enough of sweet deals and a blank check to one of the world's largest internet superhero stores! Not Blank Check staring Brian Bonsall, Karen Duffy, Miguel Ferrer, James Rebhorn, Tone Lōc, Jayne Atkinson and Michael Lerner though...even though if we had our own roller coaster in the back it would be pretty sweet. Oh, and we can get one of those giant moon bounce things too! So we started a 9 dollar t-shirt and you guys couldn't get enough of it so as a way of saying thank you,...

Twenty years ago this week, an oddball NBC sitcom introduced viewers to a family of space aliens who, in the grand tradition of Alf, Mork and Mindy and My Favorite Martian, were attempting to hide out on Earth. It was a silly premise, but 3rd Rock from the Sun ended up outlasting those other three shows, running a full six seasons. As CBS continues to rollout their extensive TV series of past and present on DVD, we get the seventh of final season of Family Ties. This beloved 80s sitcom was hugely popular in its day and its resonances can still be felt today. While much of the style of the series (and costuming) is inherently dated, the humor and content of the show remain in tact, making this a very enjoyable show to watch.
In this final season, the Keaton family faces some emotional turmoil early on as patriarch Steven (Michael Gross) suffers a heart attack. Matriarch Elyse (Meredith Baxter Birney) must rally and keep the family strong in the 3-part episode “Heartstrings” as Steven undergoes heart surgery. In the latter half of the season, the writers set up the futures for the Keaton children. Spunky Jennifer (Tina Yothers) becomes a hardcore environmentalist. Ditzy Mallory (Justine Bateman) breaks into the fashion world with her designs.

The 80s were a great time for television. Family sitcoms in particular dominated the many channels’ lineups. One such family was the Keatons and they had welcome home in the popular NBC show Family Ties. The program was your typical half hour romp with smart writing and strong performances. The show lasted a respectable seven seasons and for purposes of this review, emphasis shall be placed on the season six DVD.
Family Ties revolves around a pretty typical family in the 1980s. Elyse (Meredith Baxter) and Steven Keaton (Michael Gross) are former hippies who are now married. They have an eclectic group of kids in conservative Alex (Michael J. Fox), ditzy Mallory (Justine Bateman), sarcastic Jennifer (Tina Yothers) and cute as a button youngin Andrew (Brian Bonsall). Every episode focuses on a particular problem and by the end of the episode is usually solved unless it’s a cliffhanger.

Just when we thought Francis Ford Coppola had retreated deep into the jungles of Cambodia like the infamous Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now, the Oscar-winning director has emerged from the undergrowth without a severed head in sight – and apparently he’s working on a big studio epic, albeit in way that is currently all secret and stuff. Coppola, of course, hasn’t made a studio flick since 1997′s The Rainmaker, and we all know how that turned out (not too badly, actually – apologies for making you think otherwise).
Speaking about the project, Coppola revealed he was in cahoots with “a secret investor that has infinite money”, giving us reason to believe that his investor is either a Genie or a Middle-Eastern sultan. “I learned what I learned from my three smaller films, and wanted to write a bigger film,” he went on to say, referring to his recent period making relatively unsuccessful indie movies.

A couple of years later, in 1991, he joined the TV adaptation of "Dark Shadows" and stayed on the NBC series for 11 episodes until its cancellation. Gordon-Levitt played both Daniel Collins and his modern day descendant David. Watch him do his best screaming below.
And finally, we have Gordon-Levitt's four-episode stint on "Roseanne," where he grew up in front of audiences' eyes. In 1993, he played George, the Conners' neighbor and DJ's (Michael Fishman) very boring friend.

Bonsall also pleaded guilty to a charge of violating his probation in connection with a 2007 assault on his girlfriend after missing a 2008 court date.
The star was sentenced to two years probation for his part in the Colorado altercation, and was ordered to complete five days in the Boulder County Jail's work-release program and 40 hours of community service for his previous probation violation.

I hate it when a celebrity gets into trouble and various writers trot out the old "_____ is cursed!" stories. As if various people, even if they were on the same show, can't have bad things happen to them. I mean, I worked at a place once where my coworkers later had arrests, miscarriages, divorces, illnesses, and money problems, but I don't go around saying "my God, that office was cursed!"
But that doesn't stop the San Diego Reader saying that the cast of Family Ties is cursed, because Michael J. Fox has Parkinson's, Brian Bonsall keeps getting arrested, Meredith Baxter battled cancer, and Justine Bateman...well, what, made a bad movie in the '80s? I love how the writer glosses over the fact that Courteney Cox went on to star in a rather popular NBC sitcom in the'90s.

Bonsall Charged Over Bar Stool Assault
Family Ties actor Brian Bonsall has been charged with second-degree assault after his arrest last weekend (05/06Dec09) for allegedly attacking a pal with a broken bar stool.
The former child star allegedly beat Michael Trujillo in the face with a splintered chair during a night of heavy drinking at his friend's Colorado home.
After concerned local residents called authorities, Bonsall was booked at the scene - only for cops to realise he had been wanted for more than a year after missing a court hearing in 2008.
He had allegedly violated terms of his probation stemming from an assault on his girlfriend in 2007.
Bonsall, best known for playing Michael J. Fox's little brother on the hit '80s sitcom, is currently being held in Boulder County Jail on $7,500 (£4,687) bail.
He faces up to six years behind bars if he is convicted of assault.

Bonsall Arrested After Bar Stool Attack
Family Ties actor Brian Bonsall was arrested on Saturday after allegedly attacking a pal - only for police to realise he's been wanted for more than a year for another crime.
The former child star, who played Michael J. Fox's little brother on the hit '80s sitcom, is said to have hit Michael Trujillo in the face with a splintered bar stool during a night of heavy drinking at his friend's Colorado home.
Concerned neighbours alerted authorities, who booked the 28 year old at the scene despite his claims he had no recollection of the brawl, according to the Colorado Daily.
A police report obtained by the publication reads, "Bonsall said that he and Trujillo both are bipolar and like drugs. Bonsall said that he takes a lot of drugs and sometimes those drugs make him forget things."
Officials then discovered Bonsall has been wanted since July 2008 after he failed to appear at a hearing for allegedly violating his probation, linked to a 2007 assault charge.
He is currently behind bars at Boulder County Jail.
