‘Grantchester’ Star, 34, Teases the Secrets That Season 10 Will Explore
Image
It’s been a few days since Grantchester Season 10 premiered, bringing back fan-favorites Robson Green’s Detective Inspector Geordie Keating along with the new vicar, Alphy Kotteram (Rishi Nair), both of whom solve crimes in their village in Cambridgeshire, England. This season is Nair’s second, following his debut in Season 9, and, unlike the latter, viewers will get to see more of his character’s backstory highlighted as the latest chapter progresses.

The actor himself said as much to TV Insider, teasing that Grantchester Season 10 will reveal some withheld details and mysteries left to unfold from Alphy’s past. As a character who has a “sense of belonging and identity crisis,” several things will happen this season that will prompt him to relive the traumas of his past, which Nair elaborated on:

“Without giving too much away, him having to go back to his past and face those traumas, if...

10 Best TV Shows Like Hulu's Paradise
Image
There may be trouble in "Paradise," but that's just how we like it. The hit Hulu series (created by "This Is Us" showrunner Dan Fogelman) landed on the streamer in 2025 to positive reviews and much buzz, quickly making a case for itself as one of James Marsden's best TV shows ever. The "X-Men" alum plays slain U.S. President Cal Bradford, whose sudden death sends Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) on a winding mystery through a post-apocalyptic America.

Along the way, Xavier comes across hidden clues, government secrets, and deep state conspiracies, all hallmarks of a story rooted in a subgenre that is perhaps the guiltiest of pleasures -- the speculative political thriller. Stories under this umbrella can just as easily be titillating, smartly written, and dramatically engrossing as they are oblivious, self-important, and totally ridiculous. Sometimes, a story can be all these things at once,...

Gregor Fisher
Only Child | Trailer released for Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh sitcom
Gregor Fisher
Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh star in Scottish sitcom Only Child, and the BBC has released a first trailer. More here.

Gregor Fisher will always be inextracably intertwined with Rab C. Nesbitt, the permanently plastered Glaswegian festering in squalor alongside long suffering wife Mary Doll, played by Elaine C. Smith. The show became so popular that writer Ian Pattison adapted it into a stage show, and stars like Sylvester McCoy, Stanley Baxter and Richard E. Grant appeared in the show. Series 3 episode Touch features a very early television appearance by David Tennant, who guest stars as barmaid Davina.

As we approach the festive season, Fisher also features in arguably the sweetest story in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually, about the friendship between his character Joe and Bill Nighy’s rock star Billy Mack.

Now though? Gregor Fisher is returning to the small screen for sitcom Only Child.

Watch the trailer below:

According to the BBC,...

Rebus | Ian Rankin adaptation to air on the BBC
John Hannah at an event for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Ian Rankin’s iconic detective Rebus is heading back to the small screen. Here’s what we know about the new series…

Ian Rankin’s Rebus is one of the most successful characters in contemporary fiction. Appearing in over 24 novels since 1987, with the 25th, Midnight & Blue, set to be published in October, and over a dozen short stories, Rankin’s dour detective has made an indelible impression on readers the world over.

It wasn’t long before he made his way to the screen. The first iteration starred John Hannah, who played the role for one series in 2000 to 2001. Hannah was unpopular with fans of the books, and he quit the role soon after.

For three series, Ken Stott stepped into the role of the detective. His portrayal was extremely popular, and he became inextricably linked with the role, so much so it has taken well over a decade for...

Eight for Silver is a horror movie that was originally released in 2021 under the title The Cursed. ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’: Top 5 characters we hope appear in Season 2
Image
In recent weeks Amazon has released a flurry of casting news for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” season two. We have names of 15 actors who will join the Middle Earth cast: Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, Nicholas Woodeson, Sam Hazeldine, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo, and Calam Lynch. But details about their roles are scarce.

The only specific character information that accompanied the casting updates was the shocking news that Hazeldine (“Peaky Blinders”) will be taking over the role of orc-daddy Adar from Joseph Mawle. With showrunner Patrick McKay previously teasing elder elf (and ring bearer) Cirdan the Shipwright arriving next season, that still leaves 13 new roles shrouded in mystery.

Given the plot trajectory of season one and a hefty knowledge of J.R.R. Tolkien’s lore, here are the five...

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 announces its episode count as well as its new all-female directing team. The Rings of Power first premiered on Amazon on September 1, marking the first live-action adaption of J. R. R. Tolkien's works since Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. The series is loosely based on Tolkien's The Return of the King appendices and pieces together the history of Middle-earth's Second Age. Even before season 1 concluded with high viewership and positive reviews, Amazon had already ordered Rings of Power season 2 as part of its five-season commitment to the show.

Now, The Rings of Power has officially announced its season 2 directing team, as well as its episode count. While J. A. Bayona and Wayne Che Yip made up the primary directors of season 1, season 2 will welcome an all-female directing team. Charlotte Brändström, who directed...

Warning: contains (mild) spoilers for the Agents of Shield finale.

Emergency call handling is one of the highest-stress jobs that take place in an office environment. Handlers need to keep their head as they extract information from panicked and injured callers, who are often in dangerous situations. There can be highs, like the first call taken by Iain de Caestecker’s lead in BBC One thriller The Control Room – over the phone, Gabe talks a scared couple through the emergency roadside delivery of their child and they name the baby after him, their own angel Gabriel. The lows of the job are intense, particularly for Gabe who one day receives a call that unravels his life.

At the start of The Control Room, Gabe’s isn’t much of a life at all, de Caestecker tells Den of Geek over Zoom. “From the very start, I don’t think his...

The Cursed (2021)
"You will all pay for the sins made by our elders." Ld Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for the film The Cursed, which is the new titled for the horror thriller called Eight for Silver. This premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival under the Eight for Silver titled, received mixed reviews with some bits of praise. In rural 19th-century France, a mysterious, possibly supernatural menace threatens a small village. John McBride, a pathologist, comes to town to investigate -- and exorcise some of his own demons in the process. This is a werewolf film, which isn't so much of a spoiler, because it's a "reimagining" meaning the mythology is not what you're expecting. You'll have to watch to find out what that means! Starring Boyd Holbrook, with Kelly Reilly, Alistair Petrie, Roxane Duran, Nigel Betts, Stuart Bowman, Simon Kunz, and Amelia Crouch. I caught this last year and it's solid,...
