This Character Should Return and Take Over as Y&r’s New Detective
Image
The Young and the Restless is in need of a new detective. After the shocking and tragic death of Chance, many are wondering who’ll be in charge of the Gcpd. Well, a certain past character should return and take charge over the precinct.

Genoa City’s Finest

Many leading characters have had the honor of being Genoa City’s top detective. Paul (Doug Davidson) is the most famous and he kept the town safe for decades until his retirement and departure. Then there was Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), who sadly passed away in 2022.

Most recently, Chance (Conner Floyd) was the town’s lead detective. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in France when Chance was shot dead by Carter (Vincent Stalba). Chance’s death has sent shockwaves across Genoa City as his friends and family mourn their loss.

The big question on some fans’ mind is who will be Genoa City’s new detective.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nina and Jill Shaken By Chance’s Death – Phillip Returns For The Funeral?
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) death has profound implications on both sides of the screen.

Floyd recorded his last scene in the fictional town of Genoa City, Wisconsin, and is already working in his new fictional setting of Salem, Illinois, on Days of our Lives, where he recently assumed the role that Billy Flynn (Chad Dimera on Days and now the recast Cane Ashby) held since 2014.

Devoted audience members of one or both shows were aware of the unusual nature of Cane asking Chance to protect him at his estate in the South of France.

Viewers appreciated the coolness of seeing Floyd work with Flynn, who he was replacing on Days. Fans also knew that Chance was either not long for Y&r’s world, with that character either being written off, recast, or killed off.

One of the immediate effects of...

3 Young and the Restless Characters Who Should Return in 2025
Image
The Young and the Restless characters come and go in Genoa City. When someone leaves the Wisconsin town, it doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. Y&r surprised fans this year with unexpected character returns. As 2025 nears, here are a few familiar faces we’d love to see.

Genoa City’s Newest Detective

The Genoa City police department needs more help, with Paul (Doug Davidson) retired and Chance’s (Conner Floyd) questionable detective skills. Who better to clean up the crime than Ronan Malloy (Jeff Branson)?

Ronan is Nina’s (Tricia Cast) and Chance’s half-brother. He was a central character on Y&r from 2010 to 2012. While the detective did a great job protecting Genoa City, his personal life was messy because of failed romances with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).

Ronan’s return would give Genoa City another detective and cause conflict with Chance. As for Ronan’s love life,...

For All Mankind (2019)
Why Ronald D. Moore Created Alternate History in ‘For All Mankind’
For All Mankind (2019)
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the first three episodes of “For All Mankind,” streaming now on Apple TV Plus.

When Ronald D. Moore was five years old, he looked up at the moon and asked his mom, “Why can’t I see the astronauts up there?”

Moore recalls being whisked into his family living room with his young brother and sitting transfixed in front of the black-and-white TV, as Neil Armstrong took his one small step.

2019 is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, which makes Moore’s latest space-based adventure, Apple TV Plus’ “For All Mankind,” even more timely. The new drama centers on the question of how Nasa would have reacted if the Soviet Union had put a man on the moon first?

Moore says he was approached directly by Apple TV Plus co-chief Zack Van Amburg about making a project...

David Giuntoli in Grimm (2011)
Grimm Recap: Tiny Terrors
David Giuntoli in Grimm (2011)
Need to catch up? Check out the previous Grimm recap here.

The Wesen-o’-the-week in this week’s Grimm is a three-eyed, three-armed baby eater.

And he’s a good guy.

While watching the hour, you definitely get a sense that the NBC supernatural drama has loosened the reins in its sixth and final season — and that’s a great thing.

After last week’s joyfully slapstick hour, this week’s installment makes light of the fact that a creature known as “El Cuegle” snacks on infants (no, seriously) at the same time that the episode raises — and, in an uncharacteristic move for the series,...

'Supergirl' First Look at Laura Vandervoort as Indigo
David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Jesse Rath, Azie Tesfai, Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, and Nicole Maines in Supergirl (2015)
Yesterday, new photos surfaced from next week's episode of Supergirl entitled Solitude, which gave us our first look at Superman's Fortress of Solitude. The episode centers on both Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) travelling to Superman's lair, in order to figure out how to take down a new villain, Indigo, played by Laura Vandervoort. Today we have even more photos, which give us our first look at Indigo herself.

We reported in January that Laura Vandervoort has signed on to play Indigo, which is quite a unique casting choice given the actress' history with this universe. Long before paying the villainous Indigo, Laura Vandervoort portrayed Kara Zor-El in a recurring role on The CW's long-running series Smallville. Back in 2014, before Melissa Benoist was cast, Laura Vandervoort even offered some advice for the would-be Supergirl, while expressing her interest in appearing on an episode.

Her Indigo character is...

Supergirl Recap: Master Blaster — Plus: Laura Vandervoort's Debut Trailer!
David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Jesse Rath, Azie Tesfai, Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, and Nicole Maines in Supergirl (2015)
Each week on Supergirl, the Venn diagram of Kara’s personal and professional lives has been slooowly overlapping.

On Monday’s episode, though, those separate circles practically merge into one.

Related2016 Renewal Scorecard: What’s Coming Back? What’s Getting Cancelled? What’s on the Bubble?

Now that James and Winn are aware of the Deo’s existence, and Maxwell Lord (a human!) is being held captive in its facilities, it’s getting much more difficult for Kara Danvers and Kara Zor-El to remain separate — and that poses quite a few problems for Supergirl.

Let’s recap the alien side...

Is The Main Man Coming To Supergirl?
We previously posted this clip from Monday's  Feb. 22 episode of Supergirl, but attention really needs to be given to an exchange between Martian Manhunter and Alex Danvers.  It sure seems as if the Deo has run afould of The Main Man  aka Lobo at some point in the past.   Martian Manhunter: "We could be dealing with an interstellar bounty hunter." Alex Danvers: "You don't think..." Martian Manhunter:  "No, no... if he were in town, we'd know." Supergirl does battle with the deadly Master Jailer (Jeff Branson), who is hunting and executing escaped Fort Rozz prisoners. Also, Cat hires a second assistant, Siobhan Smythe (Italia Ricci), who immediately tries to one-up Kara, and Kara and James disagree over the Deo's methods, on Supergirl, Monday, Feb. 22 at 8/7c. Now on Earth, he is hellbent on catching all of the Fort Rozz escapees and brutally bringing them to justice, even if that means clashing with Supergirl.

Former Supergirl Cast In New "Supergirl"
Laura Vandervoort is set to score the recurring role of Indigo in CBS' freshman drama "Supergirl".

The DC Comics character Indigo is a strong-willed, living supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton. Now on Earth, nothing will stand in her way.

The casting is an amusing touch, Vandervoort played Kara/Supergirl on the long-running "Smallville" which was also produced by Warner Bros. Television. Vandervoort will make her "Supergirl" series debut in episode fifteen and is the second former Supergirl to play a role in the series - the other being Helen Slater.

Jeff Branson is also hopping onboard, recurring as Master Jailer who is the forceful and unrelenting jail guard on Fort Rozz. He shows no mercy and is hellbent on catching all of the Fort Rozz escapees. That character will debut in the fourteenth episode.

Laura Vandervoort Cast As Indigo On Supergirl
Seeing as how the hit new TV series Supergirl employs several veterans of the Superman family history, chief among which are Dean Cain and Helen Slater, many fans thought it was just a matter of time before Smallville’s Supergirl, Laura Vandervoort, entered the fray. Today is the day that we can confirm that Ms. Vandervoort will indeed appear on the show, although it will be in a much more villainous capacity.

It was revealed today at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that she will play a recurring role as Indigo, and her character is described as follows:

“A living, strong-willed supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton. Now on Earth, Indigo will let nothing stand in her way.”

If that sounds similar to Brainiac, it should. You see, Indigo is technically Brainiac 8, at least in the comic books. Given the...

She has been cast in a recurring role as the DC Comics superheroine-turned-villain Indigo, who is being described as "a living, strong-willed supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton. Now on Earth, Indigo will let nothing stand in her way." Vandervoort will make her debut as the villainess in Episode 15.  Vandervoort is the second former Supergirl to appear on the show after Helen Slater, who plays Kara's mother. And if that wasn't enough, the producers teased that all three Supergirls (Benoist, Vandervoort, & Slater) will be appearing together in an episode during the latter half of this freshman season.  Additionally, the show has also cast Jeff Branson (I Spit On Your Grave) as another DC Comics character,...

When he joined "General Hospital" in 2006, his character, computer whiz Damien Spinelli, was largely a comic foil for the deadly serious mob drama that surrounded him. He didn't stand out enough to win, however, even though two of his contests ended in ties. In 2009, on his first nomination, he lost out to Jeff Branson ("Guiding Light") and Vincent Irizarry ("All My Children"). Discus.

Longtime soap opera journalist and Daytime Emmy guru Nelson Branco (Soap Opera Uncensored) was the top expert predicting this year's Daytime Emmy nominations with 68% correct. Among Branco's savvy picks, he was one of the few to foresee lead-acting nominations for "The Young and the Restless" stars Michael Muhney and Michelle Stafford. He also wisely bet on bids for their "Y&R" castmates Jeff Branson and Hunter King and predicted all four nominees for Best Actor. Following close behind Branco was Dan Kroll (Soap Central) with 67%; he also went four-for-four in the Best Actor category. Gold Derby's Paul Sheehan and Jamey Giddens (Daytime Confidential) both scored 66%.
