What also works against The Dinosaur Project is that you just cant help but compare it to Jurassic Park...

If there is one thing you can say about Sid Bennett’s The Dinosaur Project, is that it is exactly what you would expect from a found footage orientated, British film about dinosaurs. And that, unfortunately, is not a positive acknowledgement.

The film begins as a couple of local inhabitants in the Congolese jungle find a bag which has tapes of footage within it, documenting a British group of explorers’ improbable journey into the jungle where they discovered a colony of dinosaurs. Amongst those ambitious explorers – who had set off to Africa based on sightings of an unidentifiable sea creature – are Marchant (Richard Dillane), his troublesome teenage son Luke (Matt Kane), Dr. Liz Draper (Natasha Loring), and Charlie (Peter Brooke), amongst others.

As the group’s helicopter crashes in the wilderness, they find themselves stranded, and as they delve deeper into the forest, they unearth a settlement of the creatures that had been presumed extinct,...

With writer/director Declan O’Brien’s Wrong Turn 5 having wrapped today in Bulgaria, here are an exclusive and extensive photo gallery from our set visit and an update on the production. Read on!

Having just returned from four days on the Sofia, Bulgaria set (the production at the time was shooting at UFO Studios just outside the city), here’s a bit of a casting update. As we previously reported, television actress Camilla Arfwedson has joined the cast of the film as ‘Sheriff Angela,’ the female lead who finds herself at odds with the series’ backwoods nemeses The Hillicker Brothers, this time portrayed by Bobi Dilev as ‘Three Finger’ (the only actor to ever reprise that role in the series), Radoslav Purvanov as ‘One Eye’ and Georgi Karlukovski as ‘Saw Tooth.’

Joining them are actors Simon Ginty as ‘Billy,’ Oliver Hoare as ‘Julian,’ Amy Lennox as ‘Cruz,’ Paul Luebke (Djinn) as ‘Gus,...

A couple of weeks ago we announced exclusively that Doug Bradley had joined Declan O'Brien's upcoming Wrong Turn 5. Now Fox has released the full cast list for the now shooting flick. Dig it!

In November 2010, TV programmakers Sid Bennett and Tom Pridham and producer Nick Hill walked into the London office of StudioCanal with an idea for a movie "about a father-and-son documentary team who discover dinosaurs in the African jungle." They had an outline, a showreel, a budget, a plan for the vfx and a clear timetable to progress rapidly into production -- but no script. StudioCanal took the bait. Budget is under $16 million. The first casting news for the upcoming cinéma-vérité effort from StudioCanal featuring nature's greatest creatures, dinosaurs, is finally here, and we have the scoop on who will be finding footage that was better left lost. Dig it!

The untitled Dinosaur Project we told you about is slowly finding its cast. The IMDb says Peter Brooke, Matt Kane and Natasha Loring will star. If you look at their resumes, they've all done sundry television work or minimal roles in feature films. Sid Bennett is directing the tentatively titled The Dinosaur Project which is about a father and son who go to Africa to make a documentary and discover dinosaurs.
