The Electric State is the latest endeavor by directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo to move beyond their Marvel tenure and truly establish themselves with a wholly original project. Well technically, it’s based on a graphic novel, but still. While their other recent directorial efforts, such as The Gray Man, failed to make a positive impression, Electric State felt like it could be something special given its ambitious premise, all-star cast, and the $320 million they were given to bring the film to life.

Sadly, that is not the case. While The Electric State isn’t a terrible movie and it definitely has its moments throughout, I can’t in good conscience say that it’s a good movie either. An ambitious but ultimately disappointing mess that frequently confuses muddled storytelling and contradictory ideas with nuance and depth constantly on the verge of becoming better but never quite getting there.

Millie Bobby Brown is one of the most commendable actresses in the entertainment industry today, and her impeccable acting performances across numerous genres speak for her excellence. For one who has been active as an actress for more than a decade now, the 21-year-old has cemented a fair position for herself in Hollywood.

Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower opened up about the odd emotions he felt, after wrapping up his scenes for the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix show. Bower will be reprising his villainous role as Vecna/Henry Creel, who was first introduced as the show’s main antagonist in Season 4.

Per ScreenRant, during a recent appearance at MegaCon Orlando, Bower recalled what it was like filming his final Vecna scenes for Stranger Things Season 5. He admitted that he got weirdly emotional because he didn’t really want to say goodbye. "Somebody took a photo of me after we finished the last scene and I just looked like a man that's just been carrying so much weight for so long," he shared. "I was in tears, it was weird, I didn't want to say goodbye, but I definitely was ready to put down what I had been doing for some time.

The NAACP said Thursday that the Wayans family — Keenen Ivory Wayans, Damon Wayans Sr., Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Kim Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. — will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.

The honor will be bestowed February 22 at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, which will air live on BET and CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Recognizing their achievements with this induction is a celebration of a multi-generational legacy that continues to advance and uplift communities. The Wayans family has set a standard of excellence, and their influence resonates far beyond the stage and screen.
