Doctor Who Accidentally Created The Ultimate Weeping Angel
Image
One of the deadliest creatures in Doctor Who is the Weeping Angel, and Doctor Who accidentally created the ultimate Weeping Angel. The Weeping Angels are nearly as old as the Universe itself and have gained their name due to the habit of appearing as stone angel statues. First appearing in Doctor Who season 3, episode 10, “Blink,” the unique nature of the Weeping Angel’s powers and strength made them one of the Doctor’s toughest adversaries. The Weeping Angel’s ability to quickly re-energize and reproduce meant their strength had grown massively by the time they appeared in Doctor Who season 7, episode 5, “The Angels Take Manhattan”.

The Doctor Who episode “The Angels Take Manhattan” revealed the new strength of the Weeping Angels, and they lead to Amy and Rory’s last appearance on Doctor Who. The Weeping Angels' use of the Winter Quay as a “battery farm” as they can keep...

‘Ally McBeal’ Sequel With New Lead In Works At ABC From Karin Gist; Calista Flockhart Eyed To Return
Image
Exclusive: Exactly two decades since David E. Kelley’s Ally McBeal ended its five-season run on Fox, the Emmy-winning legal dramedy starring Calista Flockhart is plotting a comeback with a sequel series, which is in early development at ABC, I have learned.

Written and executive produced by Karin Gist (Mike), I hear the new show will follow a young Black woman who joins the law firm from the original series (or its current incarnation) straight out of law school. The young woman is believed to be the daughter of Ally McBeal’s (Flockhart) D.A. roommate Renée Raddick, who was played by Lisa Nicole Carson on the mothership series.

I hear Flockhart has been approached to reprise her title role from the original in some capacity and to executive produce the follow-up. A decision on her potential involvement likely won’t be made until a script has been written.

Kelley...

Mike Tyson Says Hulu ‘Stole’ His Life Story for New Series, Compares Streamer to a ‘Slave Master’
Image
Mike Tyson has again expressed his disdain for the new Hulu biopic series about his life. The former professional heavyweight boxer doesn’t approve of “Mike,” to say the least, stating that the streamer “stole” his life story.

Tyson aired his grievances against Hulu and the series through his Instagram on Saturday, sharing two posts with strong words against the streamer.

The first post commends Dana White, the standing president of premiere mixed martial arts organization Ultimate Fighting Championship. Tyson alleges that Hulu attempted to pay White — and potentially UFC — to promote “Mike,” but White declined because he “honors friendship.” Tyson calls the series a “slave master take over story” about his life.

“Hulu tried to desperately pay my brother Dana White millions without offering me a dollar to promote their slave master take over story about my life,” Tyson wrote. “He turned it down because he honors friendship and treating people with dignity.

‘Mike’ Trailer: Trevante Rhodes Pulls No Punches as Mike Tyson for Hulu Limited Series
Image
Actor Trevante Rhodes wooed viewers as the grown-up Chiron in Barry Jenkins’ Oscar-winning 2016 film “Moonlight,” cementing a reputation for understated performances that find the softness beneath a macho exterior. Now, he is jumping into the ring to make his limited series debut for Hulu’s “Mike,” an eight-episode series about the tumultuous professional and personal ups and downs of heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. Watch the trailer below.

“People just see an animal. They call me a savage. I’m the most vicious, ruthless champion there’s ever been. No one can match me,” Rhodes’ Kid Dynamite says in the intense trailer. “My style’s impetuous. I’m ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat your children. Praise be to Allah.”

The series hails from creator/screenwriter Steven Rogers and the creative team behind “I, Tonya” and showrunner Karin Gist, executive producer of “Our Kind of People.” “Mike...

MacGyver: Another TV Show Heads to the Big Screen
There are plans afoot to make yet another big-screen movie based on a popular cancelled TV show. This time around, it's MacGyver. Will this one fare any better than the rest?

MacGyver revolves around Angus MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson), a intelligent action hero who prefers to utilize everyday items to get out of tough situations. He works for the Phoenix Foundation under the command of operative Pete Thornton (Dana Elcar). Recurring characters are played by Bruce McGill, Michael Des Barres, Elyssa Davalos, Robin Mossley, Susan Chapple, John Anderson, Teri Hatcher, Robert Donner, Dale Wilson, Bruce Harwood, Claire Brown, and Jackson Davies.

MacGyver has endured the test of time so the character's been revived several times. In 1994, he returned in "Lost Treasure of Atlantis" and "Trail to Doomsday".

Back in 2003, the WB network developed a pilot for a Young MacGyver series that starred Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) as MacGyver's nephew and protege,...
