The 1980s were a time in which the science fiction and adventure film genres reigned supreme. Films like Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Ghostbusters (1984), and Back to the Future (1985) are three of strong examples of classic 80s films that expanded their respective universes to further installments. The sequel, while a sometimes surefire way of making money off of an already established and original idea, can at times continue the adventure and prolong the cinematic magic in wonderful ways.

Add another tale of surrealism to the great canon of American art that is the fame arc of former Republican primary frontrunner Herman Cain. Upon the launch of Cain's new online network Cain TV on Wednesday, viewers and critics alike appeared to be immediately captivated by one program in particular-- a show called Street Smarts with Lewis Brown, a homeless man with a lot to say. The show, like some other CainTV programming, was a relaunch of a segment from the now-defunct RightNetwork, but Brown had courted the national spotlight before -- in a profile in the New York Times, no less -- published before the start Lewis’ posthumous career as conservative new media star.

Herman Cain celebrated Independence Day yesterday by launching his own programming website, Cain TV, a project that many did not know exactly what to make of when he first announced it. With the programming out and on the open, CNN's Kyra Phillips talked to Cain and asked about one of the most interesting segments on his website, "Street Smarts with Lewis Brown," and how he found the idea for the eccentric commentary from Brown, who is a homeless person from Hollywood who Cain announced had passed away after being asked about his show.

Though our own Jeremy Kirk and Alex Billington have already seen Moonrise Kingdom (read both of their reviews here and here), I'm still with a majority of you in waiting until the film expands to a wider release and hits a theater nearby. However, that doesn't stop us from enjoying a hilarious and very meta piece of marketing for the film featuring Jason Schwartzman in character as scout leader Cousin Ben, showing Wes Anderson's film to his troop from the film itself. This could result in a major paradox sending Doctor Emmett L. Brown into a frenzy, but it's a hilarious video to keep audience awareness high. At a recent 'Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked' screening, the audience was offered more than just squeaky pop song covers. According to the Chicago Tribune, 34-year-old Edward L. Brown stripped naked during a showing of the family-friendly sequel at a Chicago cinema, then sat in the front row of the theater to enjoy the rest of the movie. Audience members, which included children, were soon ushered out, while Brown was asked to dress. He was then arrested for sexual exploitation of a child and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

A Chicago man faces a bevy of charges after he allegedly stripped down all the way to his birthday suit and exposed himself in front of families watching a matinee screening of "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" late last month.

Edward L. Brown, 34, allegedly waited until about a half hour into the 4 p.m. screening of the feature before he stood up from his front-row seat in the North Riverside Park Mall's Classic Cinemas theater, turned to display a different sort of "bonus feature" to the audience of 86 movie-watchers, which included many children, the Riverside-Brookfield Landmark reports.

Officers responding to the scene ordered Brown to get dressed and leave the theater, NBC Chicago reports. The theater also offered refunds or vouchers to all those in attendance at the screening.

Watching the film hundreds of times throughout my life, I've been one of those viewers who's come to wonder about an unknown detail concerning our two protagonists in the Back to the Future trilogy. At the end of Back To The Future, when failing to get '1955 Doc' to read his letter, Marty runs to Twin Pines Mall (now Lone Pine Mall) to try and stop his friend's murder for the second time. Arriving there tired and exhausted, Marty once again witnesses the Libyan terrorists shoot his friend. His scream of anguish and tears say more than words ever could, and as he slumps near his friend's body, our hearts slump with him.
