The science fiction entertainment genre features two leading franchises that have ruled viewers’ popularity for many decades- Star Wars and Star Trek. Millions of space-adventure fans started to experience two different visions of interstellar adventures featuring distant planets and extraterrestrial cultures through futuristic space technologies.

The epic space opera feel of Star Wars draws its viewers into the trend of the mythic conflict between good and evil. Since George Lucas gifted the world with such grandness in 1977, the Force, lightsabers, and the fight against galactic oppression have become a cultural standard. Star Trek, on the other hand, is more optimistic and places scientific and diplomatic relations in the foreground.

Despite sharing the ability to entertain scientists, writers, and dreamers, both franchises exist as fundamentally different structures with separate storytelling approaches, scientific values, and world-building.

James Tiberius Kirk. Captain of the starship USS Enterprise. Courageous explorer of the cosmos. Intergalactic love machine. Throughout William Shatner's three-decade reign as Captain Kirk, one thing is clear: his devilish charm works wonders with the ladies, both human and alien.

Jj Abrams has carried this through in Chris Pine's incarnation of the character, hooking Kirk up with a green-skinned Orion Starfleet officer in 2009's Star Trek and two cat-like aliens in Star Trek Into Darkness.

The UK duo 2 Shoes (aka British Snooki and Zaftig Sami Brady) were finalists on X Factor last year, and while they didn't win, they did nab a record deal, and their debut album will be out this summer.

They're previewing the album with a cover of Kathy Brown's club classic "Turn Me On." The source material remains unshakeable, but they did give us a fun, campy video to enjoy, and a perfect way to get your Friday beefcake fix.

2 Shoes have premiered their new music video online. The duo have recorded a cover of the Kathy Brown dance classic 'Turn Me Out' for their debut single. The accompanying music video sees the pair in a laboratory that creates their perfect men. They then control a semi-naked male dancer with their iPads in between performing the track. 2 Shoes have been singed to All Around the World Productions and have reportedly inked a one album deal with the label.
