Superhero movies, in particular Marvel, have become the highest-grossing movies of all time along with becoming ingrained in the minds of millions of people worldwide. However, that wasn't always the case, as superhero movies were seen as just kids' stuff, not to be taken seriously, and were often a box office bomb from the word go.
While there were success stories such as Blade, X-Men, and Raimi's Spider-Man, there were just as many bombs like 2003's Daredevil, and one of the most infamous was the Howard the Duck film. One film that has gone and continues to go under the radar of most fans was the mid-2000s TV movie based on an incredibly obscure Marvel character, Man-Thing. Come with us and see why the Man-Thing movie has been forgotten by the wider public, and possibly for good reason.

One of the most powerful beings in Marvel continuity, Galactus is the Devourer of Worlds - a cosmic force of destruction whose endless hunger forces him to drain the energy from populated planets. While Galactus appears human to humans, he has no 'true' form, and is actually an energy being channeled via a cosmic suit of armor made by his own hand. Despite that fact, even Galactus has relatives, with several godlike beings calling him 'brother' and even 'father.'
Born in the Sixth Cosmos (the sixth cycle of Marvel's multiverse), Galactus was originally a genius scientist known as Galan of Taa. Despite his godly transformation, some of Galan's humanity survives, meaning that not only does Galactus have family, he also has family connections.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for What If...? Aliens #5! Chestbursters are not as weak as fans believed, capable of causing significant destruction in their newborn stage. The Xenomorph life cycle poses a greater threat than previously thought, with adult forms not being the only danger. Predators are the only known creatures capable of easily disposing of chestbursters, making them a terrifying force to reckon with.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for What If...? Aliens #4!Alien has officially confirmed that the chestburster form of the Xenomorph life cycle isn't nearly as weak as fans believed. The Xenomorph has undeniably become one of the most powerful extraterrestrial beings in pop culture. The level of destruction it's capable of causing is terrifying. Yet with three supposedly weaker forms in its life cycle, it's been believed for decades that stopping a deadly takeover is easy as long as people act fast. However, a shocking new reveal shows this couldn't be further from the truth.

The Lost Boys wasn’t just a massive box office success, it was also a game-changer in vampire media, making the undead hip again and convincing a whole generation that they too could become juvenile vampire hunters (though I know a lot of people who wouldn’t mind joining Kiefer Sutherland’s punk-rock group of dreamy Nosferatu).
And as is often in the case in Hollywood, the film’s near-instant popularity meant that the studio was immediately interested in a follow-up, with director Joel Schumacher even coming up with a pitch titled “The Lost Girls” meant to follow a different tribe of female vampires. Of course, we all know that this project never materialized, and fans were forever left to wonder about what a proper Lost Boys sequel might look like. Or were they?
What a lot of horror fans don’t realize is that we actually did get not...

Marvel's Alien: What If...? series has explored what could have happened if Carter Burke survived Aliens; now the comic's latest issue retcons a major plot point from Alien 3, fixing frustrating flaws and reshaping Xenomorph lore, while also indicating at least some version of the film's events did occur. Carter Burke's plan to breed Xenomorphs inadvertently reveals that Queen Xenomorphs gestate quicker than ordinary drones; this subverts what was established in Alien 3, but it makes more sense, resolving an uncertainty that fans of the franchise have had issue with for decades since the film came out. Marvel's Alien retcon of the birthing cycle of Queens represents a positive change for the franchise, showing a deeper interest in taking the rules of Alien biology seriously than some of the films.

Actor Paul Reiser is involved in an exciting new Aliens comic series that could potentially lead to a TV adaptation: Aliens: What If?.... The comic explores the character Carter Burke in an alternate reality, expanding the Alien universe with Xenomorph encounters reminiscent of those that would have been featured in the undeveloped Operation: Aliens cartoon. The possibility of a TV series could even delve into crossovers with other franchises like Blade Runner, creating new storytelling opportunities that wouldn't affect the main series canon.

Unlike their golden run on the big screen till phase 3, Marvel didn’t quite replicate its huge success on the small screen, with most of the Disney Plus MCU shows earning less-than-stellar reception. While fans have complained about MCU’s recent catalog being bloated following the abundance of TV shows, Marvel has also abandoned an overwhelming number of TV shows over the years.
This involves several renowned superheroes, including a Captain Britain show, which was greenlit long before the rise of Disney Plus and MCU TV shows.

Back in 2016, rumors regarding a Captain Britain show being in the early stages of development emerged. Poster artist Clara McAvoy claimed she was being paid to do a promo poster for it, assuring fans an official announcement might be heading our way in early 2017 or late 2016. Unfortunately, it never happened, leading many to speculate Marvel might have put the kibosh on it.

Xenomorphs' acid blood is the cure for cancer in a shocking revelation. Carter Burke discovered that injecting Xeno acid into malignant cells can cure all known diseases. Burke died before sharing his research, but the secret is still there to be discovered in Alien continuity.

New Xenomorph hybrids in the Alien universe open the door for more diverse creatures - including sharks, centipedes, and bats. The evolution of Xenomorph species is shown through different hosts, from humans to animals, expanding the creatures' abilities and sizes. The possible return of David the android may explain the rapid evolution of Xenomorphs, leading to new variations in the series.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for What If...? Aliens #2!New Xenomorph hybrids in the Alien universe have been officially confirmed, and they need to be incorporated into future movies. While David Fincher's Alien 3 is widely considered to be one of the weakest films in the series, it did introduce a concept so brilliant that it's still used in modern franchise entries. The idea that the form a Xenomorph takes is solely dependent on what organism the Facehugger latches onto is a brilliant idea, making it standout in an overall bleak film.

“Don’t presume you know everything.” For decades, that was actor Paul Reiser’s response whenever people would ask him about playing Burke, the Weyland-Yutani middle-manager who tried to kill the heroes of Aliens to please his bosses.

Marvel Comics has been publishing issues of their anthology series What If…? – which takes familiar scenarios from their comics and explores what might have happened if things had played out differently or if characters had taken different paths in life – since 1977. Now the series, which has included such titles as “What If Spider-Man Had Joined the Fantastic Four?”, “What If Thor of Asgard Had Met Conan the Barbarian?”, and “What If The Punisher’s Family Had Not Been Killed?”, is being infiltrated by the Alien franchise. While a non-canon comic did once give Galactus a pregnant teenage daughter, Marvel has shown more interest lately in exploring his official family, with Defenders Beyond turning his mother into the latest host of the Phoenix Force. Shockingly, it also turns out that a character hiding in plain sight in Marvel's Damage Control is the official offspring of the Devourer of Worlds!
In the Marvel Universe, Damage Control used to be responsible for cleaning up the wreckage left behind in a neighborhood after a superhero fight. However, by teaming up with the government and other superheroes, Damage Control has expanded their responsibilities considerably. In fact, it has many departments that a recent hire named Gus has been bouncing between.

Hex was scripted by Hans Rodionoff, whose previous credits include The Skulls II, Saint Sinner, The Hollow, Man-Thing, Lost Boys: The Tribe, Lost Boys: The Thirst, Deep Blue Sea 2, and episodes of The Goldbergs. For this one, Rodionoff crafted the following story:
Six extreme thrill-seekers get more excitement than they can handle in this intense, pulse-pounding action-horror tale. Loner Sarah joins a team of skydivers to help them execute a dangerous formation jump called “The Hex,” ignoring warnings that the act may be cursed.

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss haven't wasted any time in finding a new project to take on. The duo behind HBO's Game of Thrones have joined up with Warner Bros. to tackle an adaptation of the graphic novel Lovecraft, which is a fictionalized look at the life of famed writer H.P. Lovecraft. This comes less than two months after the duo parted ways with Lucasfilm over a proposed Star Wars trilogy.
According to a new report, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will develop a movie adaptation of Lovecraft for the studio. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, who previously penned movies such as Ride Along, Aeon Flux and The Invitation, are set to write the screenplay. Karyn Kusama, director of The Invitation, is on board as a producer.
It's not yet clear if they intend to direct the movie themselves, or if they will merely develop the project and serve as producers,...

"We're going to pull together and find a way to get out of here! First, we're gonna seal off this pool." Hopefully, this new batch of shark conservationists in Deep Blue Sea 2 doesn't end up like the person I just quoted, Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) from the first movie, and get eaten by any Great White sharks. We'll find out soon enough when Deep Blue Sea 2 comes to home media on April 17th:
Press Release: Burbank, CA – Building the better shark still isn’t a good idea in Deep Blue Sea 2, the long-awaited sequel to the hit theatrical thriller coming this spring from Warner Bros. It's billed as a sequel to Cloverfield, but is 10 Cloverfield Lane all it seems? We take a look at the subject of unrelated sequels...
In an era where it's just about impossible to make a high-profile movie without at least something leaking onto the web, producer Jj Abrams seems to have pulled off the ultimate coup in recent months: he and his company Bad Robot have secretly created a follow-up, of sorts, to the 2008 hit monster movie, Cloverfield.
On the 15th January, a trailer landed for 10 Cloverfield Lane, a claustrophobic horror thriller that Abrams described in a statement to Collider as a "blood relative" of that earlier film directed by Matt Reeves.
The premise is this: Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character, Michelle, is injured in a car accident and wakes up in a bunker with 40-something survivalist, Howard (John Goodman).
Howard tells Michelle that some kind of...

Last week, the internet was abuzz with news of the Spawn reboot. Todd McFarlane, the creator of the comic anti-hero, spoke to the press at Fan Expo Canada, and mentioned that the script may be done by the end of the year, which would mean production in 2014 and 2015! He also suggested, among other things, that Jamie Foxx is interested, which may just give the movie that extra boost that only star power can provide.
Reading the news, I could not keep myself from experiencing a slight case of déjà vu. Haven’t I heard this before somewhere, I thought? It seemed really familiar… But, I hadn’t been reading the Spawn comics for a while, so I must have been hallucinating, I’d decided.
Except, then I started digging. It turns out, Todd McFarlane has been talking about this project for over 10 years!

Best Friends Forever was recently released on VOD and digital services, and is an apocalyptic road trip movie starring Brea Grant and Vera Miao, who also wrote the screenplay together. I recently had a chance to interview the two of them and they talked about the challenges of getting this movie made, their love of apocalypse stories, and Brea making her directorial debut:
Thank you very much for taking the time to talk with us. How did this idea of a post-apocalyptic buddy comedy come about?
Vera: Because we love genre films and are actors, we decided to write a horror film that featured two women and bring our own spin on it. About halfway through, we realized, oh, since we were going to make this movie ourselves, it’s going to be a particular kind of torture. Why don’t we write a script where we don’t also...

Horror fans waited years for a sequel to the much beloved film The Lost Boys. Finally it came, and we all wished we had just kept waiting. Things thankfully turned around slightly in the third film, and it did well enough to warrant a fourth. But ... is it happening?
MovieWeb got Edgar Frog himself, Cory Feldman, to talk about it and the potential TV spin-off in a recent interview.
"No, this is not a done deal. I have never said that. I have said that we are hoping that it happens," says Feldman. "I would like to see it happen. And I have been working on some story ideas with writer Hans Rodionoff. We have been discussing where a future trilogy will go, if we were to implement that. Where a TV series might go, if we were to implement that. At this time, we have not been given the...

Director/leading man Alexander Loy and his co-star Corey Feldman are enjoying a serendipitous moment of perfect timing, as the premiere of their upcoming comedy Operation Belvis Bash, which depicts a successful undercover mission to kill Osama Bin Laden, ended on Sunday moments before Osama's actual death was announced to the world.
We recently caught up with Alexander Loy and Corey Feldman to talk about the surreal strangeness that has invaded their lives the last few days, and in the process, we also managed to get an update on Lost Boys 4! According to Feldman, Warner Bros. has not yet greenlit this potential sequel. Though, he remains hopeful that it will eventually get made sometime in the very near future.
Here is what Corey Feldman had to say about both Lost Boys 4 and a potential TV spin-off that revolves around the greatest vampire hunters of our time, The Frog Brothers!

Hans Rodionoff, one of the writers of last two Lost Boys movies, is set to direct a classic monster movie based on the old Horrsoft game "Waxworks." Yep, it'll have all the classic monsters: Mummy, Frankenstein's monster, zombies... and we've got the full scoop on the project including poster art, full synopsis, confirmed cast and concept art.
First, here's the synopsis:
There is a failing wax museum in the French Quarter of New Orleans. No one visits, the halls are silent. Inside, the wax figures exchange empty, lifeless glances. The proprietor, Marcus Laveau, knows that he needs to do something to reinvigorate the museum before he’s forced to close the museum doors forever.
Across town, a group of Beta Testers welcomes the opportunity to take a break from the never-ending stream of first person shooters and brawlers to go and visit the wax museum. Their task is to walk through the museum,...
