Stars: John Jarratt, Simone Buchanan, Lincoln Lewis, Lauren Grimson | Written and Directed by Chris Sun
Australian director Chris Sun is known for his violent, frequently quite viciously so, genre films such as Charlie’s Farm and Boar. The Possessed however marks his first attempt at a supernatural film, and it’s based on the allegedly true exploits of Mark Gardener who claims to be able to perform exorcisms, he calls them “clearings”, and free people from demonic possession. Of course, I don’t believe Gardener’s claims, but hopefully, it’s at least an entertaining bit of bullshit.
The Possessed certainly opens on a promising note, with a man dragging a woman from a bathtub full of blood. This is Jacob and the woman is his wife Carissa and she’s just tried to kill herself again while possessed. Jacob casts the demon out, but it appears and whispers something...

Australia has given us many various wild and crazy creature features, and we have yet another one on the release line-up for 2018. Boar is a movie directed by Australian filmmaker Chris Sun about a massive, dangerous, angry wild boar. Sun is not the only filmmaker returning with a new film at this years Monster Fest, joining him are Daniel Armstrong (Murderdrome) with his film Tarnation; and Nerdly favourites...

Director Chris Sun (Charlie's Farm) has released the first full length trailer for Boar. This creature feature was shot in the Australian outback. And, the film's central villain is an 8', tusked killing machine. The films stars Nathan Jones (Troy), John Jarratt and Christie-Lee Britten. The first trailer shows dark nights and bloody victims. The full video is below. The film begins and ends with a wild boar. It has grown to a monstrous size. It also wants to protect its territory, from the locals. Now, it is going on a terrifying rampage, while impaling anyone and anything that gets in its way. The trailer begins with old stories of a giant boar. Then, real life signs of it begin to turn up, at a camp site. The local townsfolk look completely unprepared for what is in store for them. Indie horror film fans are encouraged to take a peek past the break.

Simone Buchanan has revealed that she struggled to lose weight after having her second son. The 42-year-old Australian actress, who gave birth to baby son Remy earlier this year, gained 23kg during her pregnancy. She told New Idea magazine: "Oh, there's far too much pressure to shed the kilos, especially if you're in the public eye. I think the key is to be realistic about those things otherwise you just get depressed! "I'm not bouncing back into shape the way I did when I was 30, that's for sure. My skin doesn't have the same elasticity, and I don't have the energy I used to. (more)...
