    • Joseph Buloff was born on January 20, 1899 in Vilna, Russian Empire [now Vilnius, Lithuania]. He was an actor, known for Reds (1981), Silk Stockings (1957) and Somebody Up There Likes Me (1956). He was married to Luba Kadison. He died on February 27, 1985 in New York City, New York, USA.

  • Daughter, Barbara Buloff, confirmed her mother's death May 4, 2006.
  • His wife of 62 years, Lithuanian-born Luba Kadison, was a Yiddish actress who performed on stage as a child. She appeared in many productions with the European company Vilna Troupe, founded by her father, Leib Kadison. Joseph and Luba met when the troupe performed in Poland and married in 1923. The couple later emigrated to the US in the late 20s where they joined the Yiddish Art Theater in New York.
  • Leading actor of Vilnia Troupe, in the U.S. from 1926 with Maurice Schwartz's Yiddish Art Theater. He appeared in over 225 Yiddish plays before 1936, when he made his Broadway debut.
