Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, and Daisy Edgar-Jones in Twisters (2024)
Twisters director Lee Isaac Chung in talks to helm Ocean’s prequel
Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, and Daisy Edgar-Jones in Twisters (2024)
According to Deadline, Twisters director Lee Isaac Chung is in talks to helm the Ocean’s prequel movie for Warner Bros.

The current screenplay is by Carrie Solomon and is based on characters created by George Clayton Johnson & Jack Golden Russell, but the plot is being kept under wraps. Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, is producing the project. At one time, it was reported that Robbie would star in the film alongside Ryan Gosling, but current reports state that no cast has been set.

Jay Roach (The Roses) was once attached to direct the film, but it seems he’s off the project. Previous reports stated that the film would be set in 1960s Europe and feature Robbie and Gosling as the parents of Danny (George Clooney) and Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock).

5 Comedians Who’ve Played God
Image
After Kevin Smith’s Dogma returned to Cannes last month and received a seven-minute ovation, per Deadline, the portrayal of God on screen is back in the public consciousness. While Dogma is definitely a comedy — serious religious films don’t feature Jay and Silent Bob as foretold prophets — Smith didn’t hire a comedian for his Almighty, choosing Alanis Morissette instead “because I always thought God would be Canadian.” But other films and TV shows have tapped comic actors for their Gods, correctly imagining that He has an epic sense of humor.

Here are five comedians who’ve taken their turn at playing God…

1 Groucho Marx

What happens when a bunch of comedians in their 50s and 60s try to make a movie about 1960s counterculture? You get a mess like Skidoo, featuring Groucho as a mob boss (and maybe more?) named God. Groucho says his performance as God was “God-awful,...

Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 22 Offers An Acceptable Story But No Exciting End-of-Season Cliffhangers
Image
I was wrong. Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 22 was far better than it seemed like it would be from the preview trailer.

The best news is that the father who grabbed a gun waited until near the end of the hour and was quickly talked down.

Still, I’ve been spoiled by recent season-enders, so the lack of exciting cliffhangers made this season finale almost as disappointing as a certain other Dick Wolf show that had no ending at all.

Lady Gaga wins Sports Emmy, placing her just a Tony Award short of Egot
Image
At Tuesday night's 2025 Sports Emmy Awards, Lady Gaga took home her first Emmy. She won for Best Music Direction of "Hold My Hand" for the Super Bowl Lix pregame show. With previous victories at the Oscars and Grammys, that places her just a Tony Award short of Egot.

This marked her fifth try at winning an Emmy following nominations for her variety specials Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live!, and One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, plus the special class program Super Bowl Li Halftime Show Starring Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga won her Academy Award for the song "Shallow" from the 2018 film A Star Is Born. She is a 14-time Grammy Award winner, with the first for The Fame and "Poker Face" in 2010 and the most recent earlier this year for...

Chicago Med’s Choices With Ripley Do Not Make Sense
Oliver Platt, Steven Weber, Marlyne Barrett, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Jessy Schram in Chicago Med (2015)
Since Dr. Mitch Ripley appeared on Chicago Med, it was clear that he would be the latest problematic character.

The show has never been shy of having annoying and frustrating characters at the forefront of the narrative, but in many instances, they tried to justify the behavior.

While Dr. Halstead used to rub many people the wrong way, he was consistent in his convictions, even if they were sometimes misguided.

(James Washington/NBC)

The series introduced Ripley as someone with a complicated past tied to Dr. Charles.

It caused a lot of friction between them, but they reached a normalization point.

Chicago Med: Who Keeps Trying to Resuscitate Rasher, and Why Haven’t They Been Stopped?
Image
Yes, I’m stepping back into another realm of One Chicago to complain about Chicago Med’s obsession with a pairing.

As we head into the season finale of what is inarguably the best season of the series in quite some time, I maintain that Mitch Ripley has been Chicago Med Season 10‘s biggest drawback and weakest link.

And now, the frustration with the character continues with Hannah Asher’s latest plot development.

(George Burns Jr/NBC)

The end of Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 21 didn’t exactly leave a girl enthusiastic. Pregnancy plots aren’t always the most entertaining, but One Chicago notoriously has a pregnancy problem that makes it hard to invest in these arcs in any capacity.

One Chicago pregnancies always result in pain, heartache, drama, and tragedy, and it’s rare that their mothers-to-be ever have a happy ending. In that regard, they should steer clear of...

NBC Chairman reveals plan to boost popularity of 'iconic' One Chicago franchise
Image
One Chicago has weathered the storm. Sure, the franchise is going to have to make some changes in order to limit its budget, and part ways with select stars, but all three shows have been renewed by its network, NBC, for additional seasons. And apparently, the good news doesn't stop there.

One Chicago was one of the franchises singled out and praised during NBC's Upfront presentation on May 12. The network presented its fall plans, and Chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios Donna Langley assured loyal One Chicago fans that the network is making moves to ensure that the franchise performs better than ever. How? By leaning into sports coverage.

One Chicago Renewed at NBC — But the Price Might Sting
Image
NBC is keeping the fire burning — literally.

All three of Dick Wolf’s One Chicago dramas have officially been renewed for the 2025–2026 TV season.

That’s the good news. The bad news?

These renewals come with strings attached — namely, budget cuts and potential cast shakeups that fans won’t be thrilled about.

The doors of Firehouse 51 aren’t closing anytime soon. Chicago Fire will return this fall for Season 14, continuing to anchor NBC’s high-performing Wednesday night lineup.

One Chicago still hasn't been renewed by NBC (but we have a promising update)
Image
It's coming down to the wire. One Chicago is a pillar of NBC's scripted drama lineup. It occupies the prime time slots on Wednesdays, and has continued to perform in the ratings. There's still no word on whether the franchise will be returning for the 2025-26 season, but we do have a determination date in sight.

It's unusual for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago Pd to not already have secured renewals this close to their respective finales. All three shows end on May 21, and yet, we have no clue whether the network plans to bring them back or close the book on them. The good news is that we will find out, one way or the other, by May 12.

Oregon Zoo Mourns the Death of Tracy Morgan’s Otter Doppelganger
Image
It’s only May, and already it’s been a pretty tough year for animals with tenuous connections to pop culture. In January, Perry, the miniature donkey who served as the model for Shrek’s best friend died at the age of 30. Now we’ve just learned that an animal that briefly appeared in an episode of 30 Rock has passed away as well. No, we’re not talking about “Little Jenna,” Jenna Maroney’s pet gibbon/adopted child.

In the Season Seven episode “Unwindulax,” Liz tells her writing staff that Tgs needs to come up with a new idea that’s guaranteed to “go viral,” her example being “that otter that looks like Tracy.” We then see a quick split screen featuring both Tracy Jordan and an actual real-life otter.

One Chicago comes up big for NBC's ratings despite still waiting on renewals
Image
We may still have a month left before the 2024-25 season concludes, but the Nielsen ratings are already being tallied up. The top show titles are not expected to change that much in the last few weeks of the season, and per usual, One Chicago has delivered the goods for NBC.

The network only claimed two of the top 10 spots when it came to the most-watched broadcasts during the 2024-25 season. And impressively, both of these spots were claimed by One Chicago. Chicago Fire came it at number eight, and Chicago Med pulling off an impressive year and leaping over its Pd counterpart, brought up the rear at number ten.

Chicago Pd boss confirms "emotional fall out" for two of the show's best story arcs
Image
Chicago Pd has been occasionally frustrating in season 12. The show has introduced fascinating character arcs for several of its veteran presences, but the emphasis on case of the week stories has led to some of these arcs being pushed on to the back burner. There are times where the underlying feelings of the Iu members are not even referenced.

We do, somewhat, understand. There's been some excellent standalone stories in season 12, as well as a crossover event and an ongoing conflict with Chief Deputy Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy). We are excited to what happens with the villain, but we're relieved to have confirmation that the season 12 finale will place the emphasis on character over story.

Johnny Carson's least favorite guest was comedy's biggest star
Image
For nearly 30 years, Johnny Carson sat behind the desk as host of The Tonight Show and interviewed thousands of guests. While he had his favorites, Carson also reportedly disliked one comedy legend enough for him to be considered the late-night TV star's least favorite guest.

Whether they've publicly admitted it or not, every late-night TV host has a guest they disliked or just didn't connect with. Johnny Carson was no different, and he carried an ego and status that could make it difficult for any guest that didn't gel with Carson.

Bob Hope fit that category according to the book Hope: Entertainer of the Century by Richard Zoglin. The inside story reveals that while Hope was Carson's most frequent Tonight Show guest, the host didn't care much for Hope or his act.

"Carson never warmed to Hope, either personally or professionally," Zoglin wrote. "The Tonight Show host would often mimic...

Chicago Med Is Having Its Best Season Yet — Except for One Thing
Image
Nothing can get me through Hump Day quite like knowing One Chicago is waiting for me by the end of the night.

However, while I tune into all of the series, typically, it’s easy to prioritize Chicago Fire and Chicago Pd ahead over Chicago Med.

Watching the latter is more a form of habit while awaiting the real action. It’s never been a bad series; it’s just always fallen to third place — an appetizer ahead of the main courses if you will.

(George Burns, Jr/NBC)

But Chicago Med is having one of its best seasons thus far, so much so that it’s been beating out a surprisingly weak Chicago Fire season.

The series has found its stride this season with many of its characters. Those like Lenox have had a strong season, and her character development has made her more endearing than when she first appeared.

Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 16 Was All About Facing Harsh Truths But Forgot Sharon’s Recent Backstory
Image
I hate to have a bone to pick with Chicago Med after a three-week hiatus.

It felt good to have the soapiest medical drama outside of General Hospital back on television, and Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 16 was, for the most part, one of the stronger episodes.

But we need to talk about that Sharon storyline. It didn’t fit everything else she’s dealt with this season.

(George Burns Jr/NBC) Did Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 16 Forget Sharon’s Stalking Story?

If Sharon’s conflict with a comatose patient’s mother had happened on Chicago Med Season 9, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it.

Before Sharon’s stalking storyline, this would have been a moving, powerful story about Sharon having the opportunity to clear the air with a patient who blamed her for her daughter’s coma.

Chicago Med season 10 episode 16 recap: Goodwin & Frost confront their pasts (plus Ripley's fate revealed)

After taking a brief break, Chicago Med season 10 resumed with the show’s sixteenth episode on March 26 bringing about a return to normalcy following the previous episode which found most of the action set outside Gaffney Chicago Medical Center following Ripley as he helped save the lives of a mother and daughter trapped in a well.

As the episode begins, we see a mother bringing in her comatose daughter and we quickly learn that this patient has a surprise connection with Goodwin’s past when the mother recognizes Goodwin as “Nurse Goodwin.” During the patient’s intake, Lenox notices the patient moving her arm suggesting perhaps she could be waking from her coma.

The mystery behind how Goodwin knows the patient and her mother, Angela, quickly comes to light and it's a tragic backstory. We learn that the young woman, Josephine, was involved in a car accident that claimed the...

Chicago Med Has A Couple Problem — And No, Mitch and Hannah Aren’t The Solution

I’m sorry, but Chicago Med has a couple problem that can’t be ignored anymore.

As much as I complained about Will and Natalie back in the day, I’d take ten episodes centered around them over one Mitch and Hannah story.

Is Chicago Fire teasing a romance between Novak and this returning character?
Image
Chicago Fire is full of married couples. A lot of the veteran characters have tied the knot at some point over the show's thirteen seasons. There are precious few that are single, but we are starting to think there may be something brewing with Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon).

This Chicago Pd star is teasing Burzek's wedding (because the show isn't)
Image
Chicago Pd has been putting Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) through the absolute ringer lately. The character has had to contend with his father's Alzheimer's diagnosis, as well as a harrowing case involving a kidnapped girl he has a fatherly connection with.

It's no wonder Ruzek has been on edge. Unfortunately, Pd's decision to focus on Ruzek's increasingly tense situation has come at the expense of the happy stuff around the corner. Namely, Ruzek getting married to Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati). The show has been oddly non-referential when it comes to the wedding, despite it being set up as the season 12 finale.

A matter of life and death? Oscar winners really live longer than mere nominees
Image
If you could increase your lifespan by some three and a half years, wouldn't you do everything in your power to do it?

No sweat. All you need to do is win an Academy Award and an extended life can be yours.

Indeed, a Plos One journal study published in 2022 found that the individuals who had won Oscars lived on average 77.1 years, while those who had merely been nominated lived 73.6 years. For further context, overall life expectancy in the U.S. is 77.4 years, so Oscar winners are about on par with civilians, while Oscar losers have shorter lives.

To find out why Oscar winners live longer, Gold Derby reached out to study author Ian Robertson, founding director of the Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience in Dublin, and now a distinguished scientist in the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas, who has devoted an inordinate amount of...

George Clooney Says New ‘Ocean’s’ Film Is About the Gang Being ‘Too Old to Do the Jobs’

Time may have passed, but George Clooney is still up to his old shenanigans. Or at least back to playing career criminal Danny Ocean again.

Speaking in an interview with The New York Times, the Academy Award-winning actor teased the latest installment in the long-running franchise, which would serve as a follow-up to “Ocean’s Thirteen.”

“It’s like we’re all too old to do the jobs we used to be able to do,” Clooney said.

Clooney previously spoke of the project in an interview with Uproxx back in December 2023, where he compared the script to the 1979 comedy “Going in Style,” starring George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg. At the Los Angeles premiere of “Wolfs” back in September 2024, he also told E! News that he’d gotten the rest of the old team on board to return.

“We have a really good script,” said Clooney. “Everyone’s read it and ready to do it.

Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 13 Finally Let Naomi Find Her Voice While Consequences Finally Caught Up With Ripley
Image
I love stories about people finding their voice and speaking up despite the consequences, and Lenox and Naomi’s story on Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 13 was one of the best.

Over the years, Warner Bros. has tried to monetize its catalog of older movies through different subscription streaming services, including FilmStruck — which it shut down less than a year after it launched in 2018.

There is a perception that those who are watching a movie via a streaming service over going to the theater, is that it's free to do, despite paying a monthly subscription. Those streaming platforms are more costly than ever, and people are starting to make cuts to what could be a must-have service. Yet, a movie on YouTube that can be watched for free with no rental fee or any commercials, is something Warner Bros. is looking to offer movie fans with titles like the first Dungeons & Dragons, Mutiny on the Bounty, and the Jackie Chan-led Mr. Nice Guy.

Warner Bros. Entertainment's YouTube page made a playlist of movies that can be watched for free, some of which are critically acclaimed hits. These include Palme d'Or winner The Mission starring Robert DeNiro,...

One Chicago crossover ratings are in, and the results will surprise you
Image
The One Chicago crossover was a success. It yielded some of the franchise's best ratings of the year, and did so for all three hours of its Wednesday night block. This was to be expected, of course. There wasn't anybody who was going to tune in for just one portion of the crossover event, given that it was crucial to watch all three to understand the plot.

That said, the ratings fluctuated depending on the episode. Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago Pd drew different levels of interest according to Nielsen, and the results surprised. Chicago Fire is the most popular show in the franchise, historically, and it kicked off the crossover event in the slot that's usually reserved for Med.

Chicago Med led the charge with 6.6. million viewers Chicago Med -- "In The Trenches: Part II" Episode 1011 -- Pictured: (l-r) Jessy Schram as Dr. Hannah Asher, Toya Turner as...

Jimmy Carter makes history with posthumous Grammy
Image
Just over a month after his death on Dec. 29, 2024, at age 100, Jimmy Carter won a posthumous Grammy for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration. He defeated Barbra Streisand (My Name Is Barbra), Dolly Parton (Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones), producer Guy Oldfield (All You Need Is Love: The Beatles in Their Own Words), and George Clinton (…And Your Ass Will Follow). It was Carter’s fourth victory after a storied post-presidential career, the longest of any former president in U.S. history.

Carter’s one term in office was beset by challenges including economic stress, an energy crisis, and the Iran hostage crisis, the last of which largely contributed to his failure to secure a second term in the White House. He was defeated by Ronald Reagan in 1980 and left office in 1981, after which Carter focused on humanitarian work,...

How to watch the 2025 One Chicago crossover in the right order
Image
One Chicago is ready to unveil its most ambitious crossover event to date. The franchise has treated fans to multiple crossovers over the years, but the 2025 event is guaranteed to be the best yet in the sense that every character and show will get the spotlight.

It will be a One Chicago Wednesday unlike any other, in terms of both storytelling and structure. There are going to be more than a few fans who tune in and are confused by the order of the three One Chicago shows: Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago Pd.

Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 10 Offered Death And Heartache, But Also Hope
Image
Way to be depressing, Chicago Med!

I guess I should have expected this one to be painful, considering it was called “Broken Hearts,” but I wasn’t ready for so much death in one episode.

Two patients died, Maggie broke up with Loren, and Hannah’s sister attempted to manipulate Hannah after ghosting her for five years. What kind of start to the New Year was this supposed to be?

(George Burns Jr/NBC) We Needed At Least One Happy Ending

The surgical team warned the conjoined twins going in that it was likely that one of them could stroke out, so it wasn’t a surprise.

That was the kind of tragic ending Chicago Med loves: one twin dies, the other lives.

Director David Leitch in Talks to Direct 'Ocean's 14'
Image
David Leitch could soon be sailing into the Ocean's franchise waters; the fan-favorite action director is reportedly in early talks to helm Ocean's 14. The upcoming feature will mark the first of the franchise films starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney that Steven Soderbergh will not direct. Clooney will also be involved in Ocean's 14, reprising his role as Danny Ocean and serving as a producer.

It's an exciting development for fans of Leitch's work and the series itself, given his previous work directing mega-action flicks like John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. That last one was a particularly personal one for the director, given his time working as a stuntman (often with Pitt) before becoming a director. He also directed the raucous Bullet Train, which starred Pitt as the unlucky assassin Ladybug. Pitt, though not officially confirmed, is expected...

David Leitch in Talks to Direct ‘Ocean’s 14’
David Leitch
“The Fall Guy” and “Deadpool 2” director David Leitch is in talks to direct “Ocean’s 14” for Warner Bros. Discovery, according to an insider with knowledge of the project.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are expected to return. The duo last starred in “Ocean’s 13,” back in 2007.

“We have a really good script for another ‘Ocean’s’ now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script,” Clooney previosuly said. While he was reluctant to call it “Ocean’s Fourteen,” he did say, “The idea is kind of like ‘Going In Style,’” referencing the 1979 film written and directed by Martin Brest, starring George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg, about three elderly friends who decide to break the monotony of their lives by pulling off a heist.

Steven Soderbergh directed Clooney’s three “Ocean’s” movies. The franchise was revived in 2018’s “Ocean’s 8,” an...

David Leitch in early talks to direct Ocean’s 14, with George Clooney and Brad Pitt expected to return
Image
The InSneider has reported that David Leitch is in early talks to direct Ocean’s 14, the latest installment of the heist franchise featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt alongside an all-star ensemble. It was previously reported that Conclave director Edward Berger was being courted to develop the film, but it appears that didn’t work out.

George Clooney actually teased another Ocean’s project in 2023, saying, “We have a really good script for another Ocean’s now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script.” The actor wouldn’t spill any other details, only to say that “the idea is kind of Going in Style.” The film Clooney refers to is a 1979 heist comedy starring George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg as three friends who decide to rob a bank. The film was remade in 2017 by Zach Braff, with Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin,...

Joe Miñoso Teases Dark Cruz Arc and One Chicago’s Most Ambitious Crossover Event Yet
Image
Joe Miñoso has been a cornerstone of NBC’s Chicago Fire since its inception, bringing depth, humor, and heart to the character of Joe Cruz.

Over the years, Cruz has evolved from a lighthearted, Zumba-loving firefighter to a dedicated family man and seasoned Squad member with profound stakes at play.

Miñoso’s portrayal has consistently captured the balance between Cruz’s vulnerability and his fierce loyalty, making him a fan favorite in the One Chicago universe.

(Peter Gordon/NBC)

In this exclusive interview, Miñoso reflects on the unique opportunity of revisiting a storyline from the show’s very first season.

The Flaco arc, initially a defining moment for Cruz, comes full circle in Chicago Fire Season 13, offering a deeper exploration of his character’s psyche.

With Cruz now a husband and father, the stakes have never been higher, as his protective instincts lead him into dangerous territory.

Most surprising One Chicago moments of 2024
Image
2024 was a roller coaster of a year for the One Chicago franchise that included some cast exits, cast introductions, weddings, and plenty of shockers. And it was still a year that had many memorable and surprising moments.

That being said, between all three shows in the franchise, 2024 brought some surprisingly great moments that were also arguably some of the best. Whether heartwarming or heart-pounding, the franchise kept fans on the edge of their seats, and I can only imagine that 2025 will do the same thing.

Chicago Med is catching up to Chicago Fire in popularity (here's why)
Image
Chicago Med has not had an easy couple of seasons. The show has lost several of its long time cast members, and been forced to soldier on while introducing newcomers. Some of the newcomers have also left, meaning Med has had the doubly unfortunate task of replacing their replacements.

Here's the thing, though. Chicago Med has pulled it off. The medical drama has managed to maintain its footing with fans. In fact, the show is more popular than it has been in years past. TVLine released ratings for the 2024-25 midseason, and Chicago Med has leapfrogged Pd to become the second biggest One Chicago show in the entire franchise.

Jimmy Carter poised to win posthumous (and historic) Grammy
Image
Jimmy Carter died on Dec. 29 at age 100, after almost two years in hospice care. He lived longer than any U.S. president in history. And his influence extended beyond his tenure in the White House. After he was voted out and left office in 1981, Carter focused on philanthropy and humanitarianism, becoming especially well known for his work with Habitat for Humanity, and eventually earned a Nobel Peace Prize. He was also a prolific author, and in that capacity Carter became a three-time Grammy winner for his audiobooks. Now it looks like a forth win is coming.

According to the combined predictions of Gold Derby users, Carter is the frontrunner to win Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling for Last Sunday in Plains: A Centennial Celebration, with more than two-thirds of pundits (66.8 percent) betting on him to prevail, and for good reason. He has earned nine previous nominations for Best Spoken Word Album,...

3 Chicago Med characters we might say goodbye to in 2025
Image
While cast changes have always been a part of the One Chicago shows, there is no denying that Chicago Med has seen one of the highest cast turnarounds of the three One Chicago shows in recent years.

In the last few seasons, we’ve seen new faces join the show only to leave after short tenures with the medical drama. We’ve also seen fan-favorite, long-tenured cast members exit the series after seasons of playing their respective characters. Some of these exits have come with notice, while others have taken fans by surprise due to the unexpected ways in which the characters have been written out of the show.

These frequent changes to the cast have made it clear that no one is ever truly safe, and you never know when your favorite character might appear for the final time on the show.

As we look ahead to 2025, it seems...

5 Chicago Fire actor exits in 2024 we're still salty about
Image
2024 was yet another season of change for Chicago Fire. Across the year, we bid farewell to another wave of incredible characters, some whose exits were promoted by the actors’ desires to leave the show and others for creative reasons that have left fans more than a little puzzled.

Change is something we’ve come to expect from the shows, but that doesn’t mean it’s become any easier seeing favorite characters written off.

As 2024 comes to a close, let’s take a look back at the five Chicago Fire exits that have left us salty beginning with a character whose exit we knew was coming but still haven’t been able to get over.

One Chicago deaths that absolutely shocked us in 2024
Image
One Chicago is always good for a surprising death or two. The franchise traffics in very intense settings, whether it be a police station, a hospital or a firehouse, so there are bound to be instances in which characters put their life on the line. It comes with the job description.

Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago Pd have given fans shocking deaths throughout the years, but 2024 was different. None of the main characters from these shows died, but they were seriously impacted by the deaths that occured around them. As such, we decided to look back at the ones that had the biggest impact in 2024 (which means the tail end of the previous season and the first half of the current season!).

Chicago Med filming location provide intense details on upcoming episode
Image
Chicago Med is preparing for the upcoming crossover event just like the other One Chicago shows. It's also preparing for new standalone episodes as well, however. Shaw Local News Network, a local Chicago outlet, confirmed that Med is planning on shooting action-packed scenes next month, for what will almost certainly make the cut in season 10's second half.

Shaw Local News Network reported that Chicago Med will be setting up camp in Prairie Grove, a village in Illinois, for the first leg of January 2025. The NBC production team will be prepping the shoot from January 2 to 6, and filming from January 8 to 10. The shoot will require Gracy Road to shut down during the latter batch of dates.

Why is Chicago Fire Shafting Stellaride?
Image
Everybody loves a good first responder procedural, and it’s why Chicago Fire has seen such massive success.

The firehouse-focused NBC hit quickly spawned two equally popular spinoffs and continues to celebrate its accomplishments midway through its thirteenth season.

As much as the action keeps things interesting, there’s a large portion of the fanbase that tunes in each week for something else entirely.

(NBC/Peter Gordon)

I’ve gushed about this show’s strengths before, from its heartfelt friendships to its commitment to accuracy.

Fans love the show for a plethora of reasons, and with a dynamic cast and talented showrunner (Andrea Newman), it’s easy to understand the hype.

But if you zoom in a bit, looking past the general audience of casual Wednesday night viewers and focusing on the fandom, it’s hard to miss the Stellaride-shaped beacon that keeps the most devoted fans engaged.

Why is Chicago Fire Shafting Stellaride?...

Chicago Fire winter premiere promo hints at potential danger for Pascal
Image
Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) is still getting acclaimed at Firehouse 51. The newcomer has yet to completely gel with his team, but strides have been made, and veteran members have recognized his good intentions. What remains to be seen, though, is how long Pascal will stick around.

The promo for Chicago Fire winter premiere dropped shortly after the fall finale on Wednesday. It didn't give too much away in terms of plot, but it did place emphasis on Pascal and his leadership. The 51 Chief can be seen giving his team a pep talk before they enter a burning building. Pascal can even be seen leading the charge at the tail end of the promo.

Chief Pascal could potentially be in danger

This got us to wondering. The promo suggests that the blaze gets hectic at one point, and that the lives of those in the building get placed in harm's way.

Usps Is Launching Betty White Commemorative Stamp
Image
The 2025 stamp designs are out! There are the usual boring sets — American vistas? More U.S. flags? Vibrant leaves? — but one announcement has set comedy hearts aflutter: a commemorative stamp featuring the late sitcom superstar Betty White. Score!

“An icon of American television, Betty White (1922–2021) shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades — including roles on The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” said the Usps in its announcement. “The comedic actor, who gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s, was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals. Dale Stephanos created the digital illustration based on a 2010 photograph by Kwaku Alston. Greg Breeding, an art director for Usps, designed the stamp.”

In other words, Betty White was a badass.

White isn’t the first comedian honored by the Post Office, but she’s on a very short list. While you can’t...

Teri Garr Was a Comedic Genius Ahead of Her Time
Image
In the 1982 comedy classic Tootsie, Teri Garr plays Sandy Lester, a struggling actress and close friend of Dustin Hoffman’s Michael Dorsey. Between her chosen profession and her many bad choices in men, she has been conditioned to be life’s doormat. In an early scene, she vents that she was trapped in Michael’s bathroom for a half-hour during a party while no one noticed, then admits that, yes, everyone seems to be having a good time. Later, when Michael stands her up for a dinner date, she somehow winds up apologizing to him.

The 10 Best Teri Garr Movies
Image
Teri Garr has sadly passed away at the age of 79, but she left behind an incredible body of work that includes some of the greatest (and funniest) movies ever made. Before Garr retired from acting in 2011, she had enjoyed a long and prosperous career. She appeared in a wide range of films and TV shows and amassed a trophy cases worth of accolades. Throughout her storied career, Garr received an Academy Award nomination and a BAFTA Award nomination (both for the timeless 80s comedy Tootsie), and won a National Board of Review Award.

Before Garr passed away, she worked with Mel Brooks on one of the best comedies of all time, she worked with Steven Spielberg on one of the best science fiction movies of all time, and she played Phoebes birth mother in Friends. Renowned New Yorker critic Pauline Kael described Garr as the funniest neurotic dizzy dame on...

Teri Garr, the Oscar-nominated actress best known for her work in hit comedies like Tootsie and Young Frankenstein, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, at her home in Los Angeles, The New York Times reports. She was 79.

Garr’s publicist confirmed her death, saying it was caused by complications from multiple sclerosis. Garr was diagnosed with Ms in 1999 and revealed it publicly in 2002. In 2006, she suffered a brain aneurysm that left her in a coma for several days, though she eventually regained her ability to speak.
