Dan is an American screenwriter, director, editor, and producer known for The Signal, The Vault (starring James Franco), The Dark Red, and Tomorrow's Monsters (Starring John Boyega and Darren Criss). Dan has been obsessed with storytelling and filmmaking his entire life. He's worked in various positions on a multitude of film sets for thirty years. He's known as an actor's director and is celebrated for making character-driven films. In 2007 Dan co-wrote and co-directed The Signal. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released by Magnolia Pictures. It was nominated for several awards, including Best Picture at the Sitges Film Festival and the John Cassavetes Award at the Independent Spirit Awards. In 2012 Dan co-wrote and directed his acclaimed sci-fi thriller, The Reconstruction of William Zero, and his award-winning, mind-bending short, Ghost of Old Highways. Dan's latest film, The Dark Red, premiered at the prestigious Austin Film Festival and was released in theaters on March 6th, 2020.
Dan is writing, directing, and producing several intellectual properties, including Tomorrow's Monsters, (a Flynn Picture Company production starring John Boyega (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) and Darren Criss (Glee, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), The Mantawauk Caves (a Blumhouse Television / iHeart Podcasts production starring Jonathan Tucker and Edi Gathegi), and The Passage (starring Dan Fogler and Scott Haze).
