The Stranger in My Home Review: A Fracture in the Familiar
Image
The film descends from its precipice of initial shock into a fever dream of multiplying secrets. The characters’ strangely muted reactions to the foundational crisis feel less like a flaw in the script and a quiet symptom of existential paralysis, a defense mechanism against a truth too vast to emotionally process.

Ali and Jeff absorb the blow with a stillness that borders on the surreal, a psychological state of shock that allows the foreign element, Tom, to seep into the cracks of their broken home. Their passivity is the stillness of a world holding its breath before collapse.

Young Katie, now a stranger in her own life, is set adrift on a sea of uncertainty, and she finds a fleeting anchor in the handyman, Jordan. Their connection, presented initially as simple teenage solace, reveals itself to be another knot in a tangled lineage, a deeper, older secret lying dormant.

Jordan is Peter,...

Why Tracy Spiridakos' Hailey Upton Left Chicago P.D.
Image
Like other long-running One Chicago shows, "Chicago P.D." has seen its share of cast changes over the years, especially when it comes to major characters. Intended main player Scott Eastwood left the franchise before his Officer Jim Barnes even had to appear on the police drama, only turning up in the two "Chicago Fire" episodes that served as a "Chicago P.D." backdoor pilot. Similarly, Sophia Bush's Erin Lindsay stepped away from "Chicago P.D." in 2017 after repeated bad experiences while filming the show, while Jesse Lee Soffer's Jay Halstead departed "Chicago P.D." in 2022 to explore other roles.

Then, in 2024, another "Chicago P.D." veteran left the series. After joining the show''s fourth season as Hailey Upton and becoming a franchise mainstay, Tracy Spiridakos chose to exit the show after "Chicago P.D." season 11. In a 2024 interview with NBC Insider, the actor explained that the reason behind her departure was similar to Soffer's,...

Netflix's One Tree Hill Reboot Gets a Positive Update From Original Star
Image
One Tree Hillstar Austin Nichols says that the upcoming reboot is "in a really good place."

Per TV Insider, Nichols recently responded to questions regarding the reboot, noting that while he doesn't "have all the answers," he does know that the creators have "been working on it for a long time."

Nichols explained, "They made a deal with Netflix, and they’re working on the scripts. I think Netflix has to approve some scripts before they give it a green light. I know there's been some notes going back and forth, so it's in a really good place. It’s in a healthy place. So, hopefully we get some good news shortly and we make some more One Tree Hill."

Nichols portrayed Julian Baker on One Tree Hill beginning with the series' sixth season back in 2008. Created by showrunner Mark Schwahn, One Tree Hill largely followed the lives of half-brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott,...

'One Tree Hill' Fan-Favorite, 45, Gives a Promising Update on the Upcoming Reboot
Image
In August 2024, it was first announced that, after twelve long years, a One Tree Hill reboot was officially in development, shaping up to be a sequel to the much-loved CW series. The upcoming revival of the 2000s teen drama was set to be led by the trio of Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush, and Danneel Ackles, with each also reprising their roles from the original series. With Netflix the scheduled home for the reboot, and the talented Becky Hartman-Edwards of Firefly fame set to write, it's safe to say that fans are excited that their favorite comfort series is in safe hands.

However, little has since been discussed about the reboot, with the most recent development coming from a fairly vague update via Jensen Ackles, who said in an interview with Collider's Tania Hussain, "Danneel [Ackles] and Sophia [Bush] and Hilarie [Burton Morgan] are moving quickly. I have kind of stepped back and...

Austin Nichols Teases ‘One Tree Hill’ Revival As He Hopes For “Some Good News Soon”
Image
More than a decade later, Austin Nichols is ready to get back to his roots on the pending One Tree Hill continuation at Netflix.

At Monday’s world premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer, in which he plays Pastor Judah, the actor revealed whether he’d reprise his role as filmmaker Julian Baker in the revival of the WB/CW drama, which originally ran for nine seasons from 2003 to 2012.

“I would absolutely love to,” he told Deadline. “I spent a lot of years doing that show and fell in love with Wilmington, North Carolina, and made a lot of great friends there. We had a lot of fun. And ultimately, when something still has this kind of excitement around it this many years later, you kinda go, ‘Oh my god! Yeah, why not make more of it? People still watch it and love it.’

“So, I think it could be great.

While the two are set to reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, not much else is known.

Earlier this year, Burton-Morgan shared that there were "lots of good things cooking" with the One Tree Hill reboot series, but the sequel hasn't added any additional cast members or teased exactly what story the comeback will tell. Most importantly, the series still hasn't gotten the official green light from Netflix. But we have a new update from one of the original series' stars.

Why Sophia Bush's Erin Lindsay Left Chicago P.D.
Image
From Jack Lockett's Sam Carver leaving "Chicago Fire" to Jesse Lee Soffer's Jay Halstead departing "Chicago P.D.," many people have left the One Chicago franchise behind for on reason or another. The full reasons behind the departures may or may not have come out, but few actors have been as vocal about the circumstances of their exit as Sophia Bush. She played Halstead's partner Detective Erin Lindsay for the first four seasons, at which point her character left Chicago to dodge issues with the Internal Affairs department and become a New York-based FBI agent.

Bush was not fired, nor was she written off the franchise purely for drama like Yuri Sardarov's Otis in "Chicago Fire" season 8. During a 2018 appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast (via Deadline), she opened up on her decision to leave the show behind, and didn't mince words about the situation:

"I realized that...

Exclusive Video: Sophia Bush & Chris Carmack On Creating Their Chemistry For ‘The Stranger In My Home’

Actors Sophia Bush and Chris Carmack revealed how they created their on-screen chemistry and developed their characters for their new film, The Stranger In My Home, in a uInterview video exclusive. “We look at our personal connections, then we look at what we know and what we’ve seen and read, and then we start using our imaginations,” Carmack told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “But starting with a personal connection about family was a very strong way in for me. I’m a father. I love my family. I would do anything for them. I would die for them. Chicago P.D. Loses A Main Cast Member After Shock Announcement Ahead Of Season 13
Image
There have been many Chicago P.D. roster changes over 12 seasons, and now another series regular is handing in their badge. While previous reports stated all One Chicago leads will return for the 2025-2026 season, only Jason Beghe’s name was on the list for Chicago P.D. As it turns out, the Chicago P.D. cast is getting smaller after all.

As reported by Variety, Toya Turner is leaving her role as Kiana Cook on Chicago P.D. after just one season. Kiana joined the Intelligence Unit in Chicago P.D. season 12, replacing Tracy Spiridakos’ Hailey Upton after her season 11 departure. Confirming her own exit ahead of Chicago P.D. season 13, Turner said goodbye in an Instagram post on Thursday, writing:

My time on Chicago P.D. has come to a close. This show challenged me, sharpened me, and revealed what I’m made of. I’ve evolved through this experience,...

The Stranger in My Home (2025) Movie Ending Explained: Who Kills Tom?
Image
In cinema—especially thrillers—book adaptations have long served as a goldmine for genre filmmakers. Tapping into the smartness of literary language often helps writers fill the creative gaps of visual storytelling with a kind of practised ease. But what does one make of a book adaptation in the AI age, when employing a real screenwriter might just mean hiring someone who fed the book into DeepSeek and spat out a compressed screenplay? Surely, for a writer-director who’s been in the game this long, Chris Sivertson would’ve done more—read the novel, written the script—but his adaptation of Adele Parks’s 2016 Sunday Times bestseller feels like a patchwork of formulaic, occasionally laughable scenes slapped together on the editing table. Because the writing of “The Stranger in My Home” plays exactly like something churned out by a writer wrestling with a block on a lazy Sunday, with nothing else on the agenda.

Drama, drama, drama. That’s the most accurate description of The Stranger in My Home. The psychological thriller sees Sophia Bush play Ali Mitchell, a mother whose life gets turned upside down when Tom Truby (Chris Carmack) appears on her doorstep and tells her that he’s her teenage daughter Katie’s (Amiah Miller) real father after a baby mix-up at the hospital. The Stranger in My Home Movie Review – Sophia Bush and Chris Carmack Overperform in This Messy Psychological Thriller
Image
The psychological thriller genre peaked in the ’90s, because even when the films weren’t great, they were still memorable. Jeff Fisher’s The Stranger in My Home feels like it belongs to that era. It’s messy, unbelievable, and all over the place – but it’s one heck of a time. It’s like the Marlena Evans possession story arc in Days of Our Lives, where everyone scoffed at in public but adored it in private. Based on the best-selling Adele Parks novel of the same name, The Stranger in My Home sees married couple Ali (Sophia Bush) and Jeff Mitchell’s (Chris Johnson) life turned upside down when Tom Truby (Chris Carmack) arrives on their doorstep and claims to be their teenage daughter Katie’s (Amiah Miller) real father. According to Tom, there was a mix-up at the hospital on the day in which Katie was born, so...

Sophia Bush details heartbreaking abuse seemingly tied to her time on Chicago Pd
Image
It’s no secret that Sophia Bush did not leave Chicago Pd and the One Chicago franchise on the best of terms. Bush departed the series after four seasons of playing Detective Erin Lindsay on NBC’s hit police drama, and it’s honestly amazing that she stuck with the show for as long as she did, considering everything she had to endure behind the scenes.

Bush has opened up about her experience on the show before, but her newest comments paint a truly heartbreaking picture of just how rough things were for the beloved actress.

During a recent appearance on Monica Lewinsky's podcast, Reclaiming, Bush opened up about how her bucket list show brought about a traumatic experience where she experienced "every kind of abuse.”

“I was in this great place [after One Tree Hill], and I was ready for what was next. And I did this comedy that I loved … for CBS.

Sophia Bush Says She Endured “Every Kind of Abuse” on Show Due to Older Man
Image
Actress Sophia Bush alleged she was was on the receiving end of “every kind of abusive” treatment while filming a television show.

The One Tree Hill veteran made the claims during an episode of Monica Lewinsky’s podcast Reclaiming that was released Tuesday.

While Bush did not name the show, she gave several context clues (such as the date she left the series) so that one might assume she was talking about her years on NBC’s hit procedural Chicago P.D., where she played Detective Erin Lindsay. She left the show after 84 episodes and has previously described it as a grueling experience.

“I was in this great place [after One Tree Hill], and I was ready for what was next,” Bush said. “And I did this comedy that I loved … for CBS. Then I went to work on this other show that was on my bucket list and then I had this whole other trauma.

Michelle Obama Has Flirty Exchange With Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky On Her Podcast Amid Rumors Of Marital Problems

Michelle Obama’s podcast turned cheeky when she made a flirtatious comment at Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, joking about being a “single girl” with the chance to stay at his home.

Chesky, who was a guest on the former first lady’s Imo podcast, told an amusing story about how a fan refreshed the Airbnb website thousands of times in hopes of booking a stay at Chesky’s home. The joke quickly became odd, though, when Michelle expressed sympathy with the hopeful fan and imagined herself as a single girl with the chance to make a pass at Chesky.

“You know I have to say Brian, if I’m a single girl out there and I found out that Brian Chesky is single, and I can stay at his house,” Michelle joked, without finishing her thought.

The joke sparked a bit of an uproar, leading critics to wonder why the...

The Newest Season of 'Grey's Anatomy' Is Finally Coming to Netflix
Image
If you don't own a Hulu subscription and were just waiting for the moment when Grey's Anatomy would finally become available on Netflix, you will be glad to know that the wait is almost over. This past week, the streamer announced through social media that the newest season of the long-running medical series is coming to the catalog less than a month after the season finale aired on ABC. You will be able to stream the entire season starting on June 14.

Season 21 of Grey's Anatomy was a season of change. Doctors we came to know and love said goodbye early in the season, and others stopped by for a visit. The most surprising return, however, was Kali Rocha (Man With a Plan). The actor reprised her role as Dr. Sydney Heron, seventeen years after she guest-starred in the series for the last time. Other familiar faces included Jesse Williams (Only Murders in the Building...

All 4 TV Shows From ‘Chicago’ Franchise, Ranked
Image
If you’re a huge fan of fast-paced drama and powerful storytelling, the Chicago franchise has probably hooked you by now. What began with Chicago Fire all the way back in 2012 quickly turned into something bigger – a TV universe where first responders, police officers, and lawyers fight their own battles in the same city. That’s right – the franchise includes Chicago Fire, Chicago Pd, Chicago Med, and the short-lived Chicago Justice.

Each managed to have its own vibe and emotional pull. As fans, we’ve loved watching characters cross over between series, face life-or-death situations, and build real human connections. While some shows have completely nailed the formula, others have not so much.

Whether you’re into the adrenaline of firefighting, the intensity of police work, or the chaos of the ER, there’s something here for everyone. But let’s be honest – not all of them hit the same.

‘Holiday in the Sun’ Actor Austin Nichols Says He “Was Too Old” to Kiss 15-Year-Old Co-Star Mary-Kate Olsen
Image
Austin Nichols is opening up about how “weird” and “wrong” it was for him to kiss a 15-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen while filming a movie together.

In the 2001 film Holiday in the Sun, Nichols played Griffen Grayson, a love interest to Olsen’s Madison Stewart. And on a recent episode of the Drama Queens podcast, hosted by his former One Tree Hill costars Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton Morgan and Bethany Joy Lenz, the actor reflects on playing the part.

“I was definitely nervous because Mary-Kate was 15, and I was, I think, 18 or 19, or maybe even 20. I don’t remember, but I was too old,” he said. “It felt weird and it felt wrong.” Nichols was 21 years old when the movie was released.

He continued to describe how he “looked very young,” so he believes the age difference may not be so noticeable for people watching it. “I’m real tall and skinny and nerdy,...

One Tree Hill Was a Defining Teen Drama, but I Don’t Think the Reboot Can Succeed in Today’s World
Image
What’s that I hear? Why, it’s the sound of Gavin DeGraw crooning the opening theme of One Tree Hill. Take me back to the days of flip phones, Sketchers, and AOL Instant Messenger.

Those were the days when teen drama ruled as the last remnants of the late ’90s and early 2000s.

One Tree Hill was a defining show for an entire generation of teenagers. Now, the series acts as a time capsule, freezing a moment in time that many people in their thirties now look back on with nostalgia.

(Warner Bros. Television/Screenshot)

Believe it or not, the show is still popular among the crowd that originally enjoyed it, as well as a new group of kids who are discovering it for the first time.

That’s why Netflix saw an opportunity to cash in on all those memories of Coach bags and Hollister tees. However, can...

Michelle Obama Addresses Divorce Rumors, Links Them to Societal Views on Independent Women
Image
Michelle Obama has always been open about her life and her growth, whether it’s in raising two daughters, being the First Lady for eight years, or being married to the man who was once the literal president of America for two terms.

Like the rest of us, the former First Lady is just figuring herself out day by day, and each day she wakes up with new revelations about her thoughts and decisions and how she could make them to be happier and more fulfilled, not only as a wife and a mother, but as a woman.

I guess, even though I’m not married or have kids or in a relationship, that people can often lose themselves when they’re in any of these situations. We start to think the way society labels us, whether it be mother or wife, and Michelle Obama’s unique insight into how...

One Tree Hill star teases Netflix reboot: 'Lots of good things cooking right now'
Image
Even though its been over 20 years since One Tree Hill first made its premiere back in 2003 on The WB, and almost 15 years since the show went off the air in 2012, it's never been more popular or beloved. That's why it makes all the sense that Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan have been working on a reboot for Netflix that would bring them back as Brooke and Peyton.

Word of the in-the-works reboot series first leaked back in September 2024, and there haven't been any additional concrete updates on the potential return to Tree Hill. According to Bush and Burton Morgan, the news dropped before they were ready to announce anything, that's why only they were attached so far, along with Danneel and Jensen Ackles on board as fellow executive producers.

Naturally, One Tree Hill fans want to know everything there is to know about the developing Netflix reboot, and we...

Michelle Obama Slams Divorce Rumors
Image
In a recent appearance on the podcast Work in Progress, former First Lady Michelle Obama quickly dispelled the rumors that she and her husband, former President Barack Obama, were going through a divorce.

“It is whatever I want, Sophia,” Michelle said to host Sophia Bush, opening up about her experiences since leaving the White House and empty nest syndrome. “It’s the first time in my life all of my choices are for me.”

“I have to make sure the girls or my husband’s president are Ok, so I can’t do that. Now, you know, I can’t blame my decisions and indecision on anyone other than me. If I’m honest with myself, I could have made these decisions years ago, but I didn’t give myself that freedom.”

Michelle touched upon her newfound freedom and constant public scrutiny amidst the gossip and speculation about the state...

Michelle Obama Breaks Silence on Divorce Rumors: ‘I Was Making a Choice For …
Image
Reading Time: 3 minutes

For several weeks now, we’ve been reporting on the persistent rumors that Barack and Michelle are headed for divorce.

While neither party commented on the situation directly, there seemed to be numerous signs that something had changed within the Obamas’ marriage.

For starters, Barack made numerous solo public appearances at a time when he must have already caught wind of the rumors.

Observers figured that he must have known how the public would react, and the move might therefore be his subtle way of confirming that he and Michelle were headed for Splitsville.

Michelle Obama Speaks Out About Barack Obama Divorce Rumors, Seemingly References Reasons for Skipping Major Events
Image
Michelle Obama is taking on those Barack Obama divorce rumors.

If you don’t know, the couple has been facing rumors of a split after not being together at some public events.

“The interesting thing is that when I say ‘no,’ for the most part, people are like, ‘I get it,’ and I’m Ok,” the former First Lady said on Sophia Bush’s “Work in Progress” podcast, seemingly referring to skipping some of these recent public events while her husband attended alone. One such event was Trump‘s inauguration.

Keep reading to find out more…

She continued, “And that’s the thing that we as women struggle with — disappointing people. So much so that people, they couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself, that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.”

She added that she can’t just be “a...

Chicago Pd just hasn't been the same since these 5 characters left
Image
Chicago Pd has been doing well, but it just hasn’t been the same since losing certain characters! We take a look at the five we miss the most.

When a show runs 12 seasons, it’s only natural to shed some names in the cast. Chicago Pd hasn’t seen as much of a huge cast turnover since the first year but has lost a few characters as it went. Some aren’t too big; Sean Roman had a nice presence but was not important overall, while Vanessa Rojas only lasted one season and was forgettable.

Then, there are some major characters who brought true heart and power to the show. They were amazingly popular with the fans and often felt like the backbone of the series and its drama. Their departures all affected the show, and while it’s gone on, it seems something was lost with those gone.

4 Chicago Pd characters who should return to the show for Burzek's wedding
Image
We have been waiting a long, long time to see Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) get married. They have had a very bumpy road to the altar, but they have persevered, and we couldn't be happier for them. Unfortunately, a lot of the friends they've made along the way have left Chicago Pd.

Chicago Fire and Chicago Med have proven that weddings are as good a reason as any to bring back beloved characters. We saw Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) return in order to serve as the best man for his buddy, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), on Fire, and we're hoping Chicago Pd uses their big union to do something similar. These are the characters we have on our fantasy guest list.
