Captain America: Brave New World Worldwide Box Office: Is The 3rd Lowest Grossing MCU Film (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Captain America: Brave New World is trying its best to move out of the danger zone. It prevented itself from being the least-grossing MCU movie when it beat the global haul of The Marvels. Anthony Mackie’s movie has now surpassed yet another MCU movie, becoming the third least-grossing film from Marvel Studios. It is not an exciting feat, but it does provide a sigh of relief for the Captain America team. Scroll below for more.

The Marvels was released in 2023, and it was a massive disaster at the box office. The movie collected only $206.13 million in its global run. Captain America 4 is on track to surpass the Og film in its franchise, which is also one of the top 10 least-earning MCU movies. The 2025 release opened to mixed reviews and...

‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Star Ravi Cabot-Conyers Talks FaceTiming Tom Holland on Set and How Gin Blossoms Influenced His Role
Image
[This story contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.]

At 13, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew star Ravi Cabot-Conyers is an old soul. He was not only introduced to Star Wars by way of the original trilogy, but his desire to act was born out of his parents’ decision to share the 1966 Batman series with him at an early age. On top of that, he was raised in a household that appreciates the art of jazz, ensuring that a variety of musical instruments were always at his disposal. So, hats off to Christina Cabot and Charles Conyers for feeding Ravi a media diet that is refreshingly unconventional for Gen Alpha. (Cabot, whose father Joe was an accomplished trumpeter, played Major Kathleen Sparr in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.)

‘90s music also factored into Cabot-Conyers’ preparation for the role of Wim on the Jon Watts and Christopher Ford-created Skeleton Crew. As established in the Watts-directed series premiere,...

Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, and Chris Hemsworth in Thor (2011)
Which Marvel movies pass the Bechdel Test?
Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, and Chris Hemsworth in Thor (2011)
"This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is not Thorita. This is Thor. This is the Thor of the Marvel Universe." So ran this week's statement from Marvel Comics, announcing that hammer-wielding Norse god Thor will be female in a new comic series. While a number of reactions from fans and industry folk have been dead on, others have been predictably hostile.

Coupled with the imminent release of Guardians of the Galaxy, which is the first Marvel Studios movie to date with a female screenwriter, this announcement has reignited an ever-brewing debate about women in superhero movies. More to the point, the lack thereof.

After Black Widow proved to be more or less second lead in Captain America: The Winter Soldier earlier this year, many were hoping that Marvel would finally bite the bullet and announce a standalone movie for Scarlett Johansson as part of their Phase Three plans.

Exclusive: Marvel Studios Talks the Future of The Incredible Hulk
The future of The Incredible Hulk In 2008 Marvel Studios set out to do something that had never been done before on film, which was create one seamless world that several different film franchises would exist in ... essentially creating the "Marvel Film Universe." It began with the box office hit Iron Man, which featured an after the credits cameo by S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson and continued with The Incredible Hulk later that year, which featured an appearance by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, linking the two films together. That strategy continues with the new movie Iron Man 2, opening on May 7th and the upcoming Marvel film's Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, which are currently in various stages of production. The hope is that all of this will lead up to The Avengers in 2012, which will feature characters from all of those films.

Uncertainty Over Edward Norton's Return on 'The Incredible Hulk' Sequel
Talking about the future "Hulk" franchise, Edward Norton, the lead star of "The Incredible Hulk", revealed that he doesn't know whether he is going back to play Bruce Banner and his superhero alter ego. To MTV News, the co-star of Liv Tyler fessed up that Marvel Studios have yet to give any sign that they want him to return as the raging green beast.

Sharing out on the uncertainty, Norton explained, "The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque. I won't say [they're] obtuse, but I don't have any idea what they want to do." Furthermore, on the possibility of him starring as the superhero in Marvel's other project "The Avengers", he let out an equal skepticism insisting that he has no clue about Marvel's plans for him. "They've got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters," he added. "Who knows where they'll go?"

Released in theaters on June 13, "Incredible Hulk" tells...
