Lost Horizon (1937)
It’s a wonder movie from the 1930s, a political fantasy that imagines a Utopia of peace and kindness hidden away in a distant mountain range — or in our daydreams. Sony’s new restoration is indeed impressive. Ronald Colman is seduced by a vision of a non-sectarian Heaven on Earth, while Savant indulges his anti-Frank Capra grumblings in his admiring but hesitant review essay.

Stars: Sharon Kane, Eric Edwards, Jerry Butler, Sharon Mitchell, George Payne, Joey Silvera, Joanna Storm, Michelle Maren, Annie Sprinkle, Marc Stevens | Written and Directed by Gerard Damiano

Walter (George Payne) and Marsha (Michelle Maren) are the classic American married couple. Walter has a good job and Marsha is your perfect housewife. The pair believe in monogamy. I say that, but the couple have a sort of sexual awakening. One day, Walter has a bit of fun with a local hooker (Sharon Mitchell) and whilst he’s at it – Marsha finds herself seduced by Joe (Eric Edwards) – their Meter man. As this is going on, their friends Andy (Joey Silvera) and his wife Louise (Sharon Kane) are the complete opposite. The couple are both openly promiscuous and have their own fun when they can. Gal Gadot on Becoming Wonder Woman, the Biggest Action Hero of the Year
David Thewlis, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman (2017)
Wonder Woman herself is about to bless my unborn child. "Can I?" she asks, before spreading her long fingers around my pregnant belly. Her hands feel warm and maternal. She holds my gaze, unwavering. "Girl or boy?" she asks. "Girl," I tell her. Her smile widens. "Being a woman is a strength," she says. "In so many ways."

Kathy Bates in Disjointed (2017)
Disjointed Review: Don't Puff Puff, Just Pass on Netflix's Half-Baked Sitcom
Kathy Bates in Disjointed (2017)
You know how they say smoking marijuana can make anything funny? Well, whoever said that never watched Netflix’s appallingly bad new weed-com Disjointed. Because it would take a tractor-trailer full of ganja to make this mess tolerable.

You might have seen that Disjointed (debuting this Friday) stars the great Kathy Bates and airs on Netflix, and assumed that it must be innovative in some way. But don’t be fooled: This is basically a lame CBS sitcom dressed up in hip, streaming-service clothing. Chuck Lorre (of Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory fame) is an executive producer here,...

Here’s a sentence you probably never expected to hear from a true-crime docuseries: “This is going to take way more than just ball hairs.”

That’s probably because American Vandal, a new Netflix series announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, isn’t your typical true-crime doc. In fact, there’s (spoiler alert!) nothing “true” about it.

Wish Upon – Review
We’re nearly halfway through July, but somehow, here at the ole’ multiplex, there’s a distinct chill. No, it’s not somebody tinkering with the thermostat. It could be this new horror flick, perhaps. Although it’s not the good chill as in a memorable “spine-tingler”. No, it’s as if this wannabe’ thriller somehow escaped the dumping ground of mid-January, or a Friday-the-thirteenth weekend, or sometime close to Halloween. It’s squarely aimed at the pre-teen and teen set since it’s got the PG-13 rating, so it’s a bit scary, just not too intense or “gory gross”. And it features a cast from other young adult flicks and TV shows for audience identification. And what’s the added incentive at the top of the poster, the nudge that’ll put behinds in the seats? “From the director of Annabelle”…really. That’s something to boast about?...

Supergirl season 2 episode 8 review: Medusa
Kayti Burt Nov 29, 2016

It's the first of the big DC TV universe crossover episodes: Supergirl season 2's Medusa...

This review contains spoilers.

See related Torchwood: Steven Moffat denies dooming a revival Doctor Who: John Barrowman talks again about returning Doctor Who series 10: Utopia and Class director comes aboard

2.8 Medusa

Though Medusa is technically the beginning of The CW's four-part superhero event, it is mostly a Supergirl-specific episode until its very end. For some, this might have been disappointing. We only got a tiny little cross-show interaction in the final moments, but, hopefully, for most, the strength of this episode overcame any dashed crossover expections.

Like the rest of Supergirl season two, Medusa was an emotion-driven roller coaster of a ride that expanded this world and these characters in awesomely affecting ways. Pay attention during the crossover, other CW superhero TV shows. This is what it looks like...

He urged his fans to help others who are struggling.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 – Review
Okay film fans, are you all set for the big sequel storming the multiplex this weekend. No, not that one, the one with the caped combatants. Instead of spandex think….Windex. This is the follow-up that most movie-goers of a…ahem…certain age have been clamoring for since the original shocked and stunned Hollywood fourteen (gasp!) years ago. That’s because this lil’ flick with no big marquee stars, which cost a paltry five million, went on to gross just under a quarter of a billion bucks. So what took em’ so long, you may ask. Well, there was a TV show in 2003 that CBS canned after just seven episodes. Tis’ a distant memory, one that will be erased when the whole gang is back for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. So pass the ouzo! Opa!

Once again, good ole’ Gus Portokalos (Michael Constantine) is driving off to open...

Hugh (John Leslie, Dracula Sucks) is about to marry Lily (Flower, Sheila’s Payoff) and he wants his bubbly daughter Peaches (Desireé Cousteau, Hot Rackets) from his first marriage, to be a part of the festivities. Thankfully the stepdaughter-stepmother relationship starts off well with the trio hitting up the nearest slot machines. Unfortunately, Peaches comes to the realisation that she now has to potentially compete for her father’s love and attention. Whilst on her little bender, Peaches is involved in an accident and subsequently left unconscious. ‘Champagne for Breakfast’ Review (Vinegar Syndrome)
Leslie Bovee (Maraschino Cherry) stars as Champagne, a young, attractive and majorly successful advertising executive and vice president of her fathers cosmetic company. She’s on the search for a new chauffeur. Thankfully, she may be in luck. Enter Harry ((he’ll be doing that a lot), a simple everyday Joe, played by John Leslie (Dracula Sucks). Harry works as a small time chauffeur, but also applies to be a bouncer at a strip joint. Even though he makes a Great first impression with his new potential employer and her friend, John puts professionalism before leisure and pleas to his employment agent Gladys Whitmore, played by Kay Parker (Untamed), that his job provides him with too many horny women! Unfortunately for him, Gladys is also a bit of a ‘freak’. Sick of it all, Harry hears of Champagne’s search and does what any sensible person would do. Yes, you guessed it!

Willam Belli in RuPaul's Drag U (2010)
Like many of you, I was shocked Monday night when, on RuPaul's Drag Race, Ru announced that one of the contestants, Willam Belli, had broken the rules and was being disqualified from the competition. (That's right. I love TV. Deal with it.)

Oddly enough, I had scheduled an interview with Willam last week, before the bomb dropped, for a second installment of my HuffPost blog "Queer Celebrities Need Love, Too," but after watching the show I decided to throw out all those questions.

My chat with Willam from yesterday (the day after all the drama) is below.

Hey, Willam. Tough night, huh? What happened, girl?

Gdc 2012: Postmortem - A Look Back At the Original 'Fallout'
Timothy Cain, the producer, programmer, and one of the original Fallout speaks at Gdc 2012 on what it took to make the PC classic from Interplay.

Cain started off by calling out some of the film influences behind the game, including the Harlan Ellison adaptation, A Boy and His Dog, and the TV movie, The Day After.

Moving on to the challenges of making the game, he explained that for the first six months of development, it was simply him alone, later joined by two more members before the team finally started to coalesce. He says that during the last six months of development, they would work almost daily for 12-14 hour days. He says that it was awesome because they were in their 20's but seems ridiculous now. The team effort was helped out by some Qa workers volunteered to work for free on weekends because of their love of the game.

'Desperately Seeking Santa's' Laura Vandervoort: 'A nice twist on the typical Christmas story'
Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's time to start looking ahead to Christmas. ABC Family is kicking things off with "Desperately Seeking Santa," which star Laura Vandervoort tells Zap2it is not your typical Christmas movie.

"I play Jennifer Walker. She's a girl very driven to succeed, make it up the corporate ladder at a mall in Boston," says Laura. "She comes up with this idea to have sexy Santa or hunky Santa instead of the regular Santa. She holds auditions with local men to be the new hunky Santa. It's a fun Christmas comedy, but it's also a romance. I'm a romantic at heart and I really related to the script."

Naturally, Jennifer finds her hunky Santa, in David Moretti (Nick Zano) and then the romantic sparks fly. But he also teaches Jennifer that there's more to life than work.

"In the end, she realizes she has no family,...

Get Ready to Be Mad In Italy!
Do I smell a resurgence of Italian horror on the horizon? I certainly hope so because it's been far too long since the Italians have been busy in the horror genre. First time filmmaker Paolo Fazzini is looking to put the boot back on the map with this one, folks. Fingers crossed!

Mad in Italy is a truly disturbing psychological horror movie based on true events about one girl's ordeal to stay alive at the hands of a young maniac.

The feature film (now in post-production) was produced by the Italian E2=G Productions and represents Fazzini's first feature film as a director, following his work Hanging Shadows (distributed in USA by Cinema Guild), a documentary that presents an informative historical overview narrated by the Italian masters of horror Dario Argento, Lamberto Bava, Ruggero Deodato, Sergio Stivaletti, and many others.

Mad in Italy features a haunting original score by composer...
