Award winning writer/director Dan Cadan spent the early years of his career collaborating with the likes of Guy Ritchie, Madonna, Idris Elba, Jason Statham and Will.I.Am.
Working with Guy for over a decade, Dan moved quickly from production assistant on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, to personally assisting Guy, into development and writing on several projects including Snatch and RocknRolla.
Dan has written, developed and directed on numerous projects with Madonna, including tour documentaries, a commercial and several videos. He wrote the liner notes for her follow up to the Immaculate Collection, Greatest Hits Vol. 2. He was called upon by Eon to work with Robert Wade and Neil Purvis, to write a scene for Madonna in the Bond film, Die Another Day (sneaking a line in for 007 himself!)
Dan has directed music videos for many artists including Mumford and Sons, Kasabian, Rick Astley and the past ten videos for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. His videos feature a wide array of talent including Idris Elba, Matt Smith, Jack O'Connell, Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham.
Dan has directed ads for Wonderbra, H&M and Aston Martin.
His first short film, The Devil' Wedding, made Official Selection at 15 film festivals, winning 5 awards, including Best International Short at Cleveland International Film Festival. The unique film, told completely in rhyme, stars Stephen Graham and Lena Headey and counts amongst its many fans Johnny Depp and Harry Potter producer Lionel Wigram who called the film "a tour de force". Dan is currently reworking the screenplay into a feature.
Having adapted novels for James Patterson (Kill Me If You Can) and Attica Locke (Black Water Rising), Dan wrote his first feature, Walk Like A Panther, which was given the green light by Stacey Snider at 20th Century Fox. He went on to produce and direct the film. The ensemble cast includes Stephen Graham, Dave Johns, Julian Sands, Jill Halfpenny, Michael Socha, Hannah Walters, Sue Johnston and Jason Flemyng.
Dan collaborated with Goldie to write a six part drama entitled Sine Tempore. This unique story is a sweeping tale of doomed love and intense conflict, and the shattering consequences of both. A modern day, Shakespearean tragedy.
Dan is attached to direct a biopic of Jonny Kennedy, who was the subject of the Emmy winning documentary, The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off.
Dan wrote episode 2 of the BBC Boiling Point spin off.
Dan is writing a feature for Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way, entitled Brink.
For the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Dan rewrote all 30 articles in rhyme. Working with Choose Love, Smiley Movement and Art for Human Rights, he directed the films which feature Dame Judi Dench, Olivia Colman, Bella Ramsey, Jude Law, Nazanin Boniadi, Rita Ora and many more. To date, the project has had over 230 million views across social media.
Dan continues to develop his own projects for Film and TV.
