The Taking of Savannah to Premiere at Fright Night Film Fest
Things are coming full circle for director Jeff Chitty's The Taking of Savannah. The film's trailer debuted at last year's Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville, Kentucky, and over the upcoming weekend of July 22nd-24th, the film itself will premiere at the very same event!

Screening alongside Savannah at the Fright Night Film Fest will be films from Kansas City area filmmakers David R. Berry, Brian Boye, John D. Barnes, Andrew Rolston, Dustin Adair and festival regular Patrick Rea, among others. Also appearing at Fright Night are legendary director John Carpenter, scream queen Tiffany Shepis, Henry Winkler, a Revenge of the Nerds reunion, a Dark Night of the Scarecrow reunion, Michael A. Baldwin, Jim Kelly, cult filmmaker Fred Olen Ray, and more!

Review: Change For A Dollar
Change For A Dollar is a 10-minute short film from writer, director and producer Sharon Wright, which played the Aof International FilmFest in July 2010. I have to confess, I had intended to get to this film much earlier, but I am glad I did see this little gem and encourage anyone of any age to see it, given the opportunity.

Wright’s film packs an emotional punch, without being sappy or overly melodramatic. Structured more like a music video than a traditional narrative film, Change For A Dollar has no dialogue and really doesn’t need any. The beautiful orchestral score by Christopher Komstoeft, along with the down-to-Earth acting tells the story of a homeless man (played by Robert P. Campbell) who chooses to make a difference in several people’s lives with only a dollar.

As the audience, we travel with the homeless man on this short journey, witnessing...

Producer/director Jeff Chitty's The Taking of Savannah is now in post-production, which means it's time for some early artwork for the film, and we've got your first look at two different versions of the debut poster -- one "safe" and one that you may not want your co-workers or kids to see.

Principal photography for The Taking of Savannah has wrapped with only two scenes left to shoot. The full schedule for Fright Night Film Fest, which runs July 30th-August 1st in Louisville, Kentucky, isn't quite finalized yet, but we did hear from producer/director Jeff Chitty that the trailer for his current project, The Taking of Savannah, will be having its world premiere there.

Synopsis:

Five thugs and an unknowing girlfriend make a Big mistake when they kidnap and hold young Hollywood "celebutante" Savannah Sondheim (heiress to the Sondheim tissue fortune) for a weekend to collect a ransom. When Savannah escapes, it becomes a brutal fight for survival where friends turn against one another and fight for their lives.
