TV crossover events have seen plenty of ups and downs over the years. For every "Crisis on Infinite Earths" or "Scoobynatural," television studios typically make half a dozen misguided cash-ins in a desperate attempt to expand each show's unique viewing audience. So, where does that leave the often-forgotten conversion between one of Fox's most beloved procedural series, Bones, and one of their most forgotten, Sleepy Hollow?

"SleepyBones," as some fans took to calling it, saw forensic anthropologist Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her longtime FBI partner Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) team up with the no-nonsense FBI agent Abbie Mills (Nicole Berharie) and her 18th Century time-traveling partner, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), to investigate a crime that only their combined might can potentially solve. This unexpected collaboration was a shock to fans of both Bones and Sleepy Hollow, and it ultimately resulted in one of the strangest — and most underappreciated — crossover episodes in TV history.

Call of Duty and One Life to Live actor Kamar De Los Reyes is being remembered by Hollywood following news of the actor’s death on Christmas Eve at 56 following a cancer diagnosis.

Reyes’ death was confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday by a family spokesperson. The late actor shared two children with his wife and fellow performer Sherri Saum, who co-starred with Reyes on ABC’s long-running soap One Life to Live.

The Locke & Key and The Fosters star posted a tribute to her late husband and fellow actor on Tuesday on her Instagram, writing “Of The Kings.”

A&e canceled The Glades after its fourth season, leaving the storyline unresolved and frustrating viewers. The planned fifth season would have focused on investigating Jim's shooting, with twists and suspects to keep viewers engaged. While the chances of a revival are slim, there is still hope for The Glades to return after a long hiatus, as other shows have done.

The fourth season of A&e’s crime drama may have ended on a cliffhanger in 2013, but The Glades season 5 isn’t likely. The set of Fox’s Sleepy Hollow had “grueling” working conditions, confusion and “creative floundering” among its leadership, and disparate treatment between its white male and Black female lead, according to Burn It Down.

The Hollywood exposé from Maureen Ryan, published by HarperCollins and which hit shelves on Tuesday, alleges that Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison — who played detective Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane, respectively — “did not want to have a whole lot to do with each other,” according to one source who worked on the show, allegedly resulting in Mison’s character’s famous “courtly” bow, because the co-stars did not want to hug each other.

That also allegedly translated to their onscreen narratives, according to showrunner Clifton Campbell, who told Ryan that Mison and Beharie “believed that the relationship between the characters should not evolve into a romantic relationship,” despite fan calls for one. (Neither Beharie nor Mison commented for the book.

Women’s Weekend Film Challenge (Wwfc) is launching a pilot accelerator program for writers to pitch female-centric content.

The program, which will see emerging TV writers pitching beginning in October of this year, was designed to help such writers advance their careers, as well as to increase the representation of women non-binary people working in television.

“So many members of our community have pilot scripts ready to go but no one to pitch to,” Wwfc co-founder Tracy Sayre said in a statement. “This gap became especially apparent over the last year as we’ve hosted weekly virtual workshops; far and away, the most popular events have centered around how to pitch and how to break into the writers room. This accelerator is a natural response to the career goals of our community.”

Wwfc is accepting applications for the accelerator on FilmFreeway from June 17 to July 21, 2021. The program will take place virtually.

Fox’s retooled Sleepy Hollow this Friday drew 1.92 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, ticking down on both counts to new series lows.

Leading into that, Rosewood (2.9 mil/0.6) was down a tenth in the demo.

Spoilers! Season three of Fox's Sleepy Hollow TV series went out with a bang. In the penultimate third season episode, the show killed off the late Sheriff's son, Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman). Sleepy Hollow has survived the departure of other heavily featured actors including Orlando Jones, John Noble, and Katia Winter. Friday's third season finale death was a game changer, though. The “Bones”-“Sleepy Hollow” Halloween crossover set to air Thursday night was all Fox’s idea. But executive producers for the two-hour programming event are pretty pleased with how it turned out. Still, Clifton Campbell and Jonathan Collier had a bit of apprehension when the directive came down from on-high. “Why would they open up their door to this supernatural element?” the “Sleepy” showrunner Campbell told TheWrap of his Thursday primetime partner’s reason to be hesitant. "We have this bubble that we've created within Sleepy Hollow. Two of Fox's hit shows, Bones and Sleepy Hollow, will crossover with a two-hour event on Thursday, October 29, just in time for Halloween. Gross plays Daniel Reynolds, a Quantico-trained and political savvy FBI special agent and Abbie's new boss with whom she's worked before.

Appelman will reprise the role of Joe Corbin, the son of August Corbin (Clancy Brown), a marine who was cursed as a Wendigo. In this season he'll join Jenny to look into his father’s work to help Crane & Abbie.

The third season of the show is undergoing a creative reboot under new show runner Clifton Campbell ("The Glades") who is steering the show back towards the less plot heavy, lighter and more character-centric tone of the show's first season. The series is slated to return October 1st.

Forensics drama Bones will be teaming up with Sleepy Hollow for a two-part crossover, just in time for Halloween…

Further to the announcement some weeks ago, Fox has announced more details about its forthcoming TV crossover. The forensic investigation of Bones will meet the supernatural strangeness of Sleepy Hollow for a two-part crossover event on Thursday the 29th of October.

“Just in time for Halloween, the scientific world of Bones meets the supernatural world of Sleepy Hollow in a crossover event to thrill the living, the dead and everything in between, airing Thursday, Oct. 29. On Bones (8:00-9:00 Pm Et/Pt), the grisly discovery of human remains lead Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) on a hunt for clues, during which they encounter Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), searching for answers of their own.

Fox’s Sleepy Hollow will be a bit more fun, a little less dark and dense, as it aims to get back on track in Season 3.

There’ll be no more Headless Horseman action in Sleepy Hollow. He's been axed as season 3 pushes ahead with ‘a new framework’…

Here’s an interesting one – the powers-that-be have decided to chop the Headless Horseman from the roster in Sleepy Hollow. His epic battle with Ichabod Crane was wrapped up in season 2, and apparently won’t be showing his face (er, stump) again.

“There won’t be any Headless this year,” said Clifton Campbell, Sleepy Hollow’s current showrunner, before hinting at some big changes for the show.

“But we have a new framework and a new set of rules for the mythology,” he added. “And it all starts with the introduction of our new big bad and will take us into a very interesting device which will allow us to see a somewhat more compelling, but more personal threat to both Abbie [Nicole Beharie] and Crane [Tom Mison].”

New showrunner Clifton Campbell says that the Fox series’ original villain, as well as his alter ego Abraham van Brunt, won’t be seen in the upcoming third season, TVGuide.com reports.

However, “We have a new framework and a new set of rules for the mythology,” Campbell tells the site, previewing a “more personal threat” to Witnesses Abbie and Ichabod.

It seems the upcoming third season of Fox's supernatural procedural "Sleepy Hollow" is in for some major changes.

Four of the key actors are out including Orlando Jones (Irving), Katia Winter (Katrina), John Noble (Henry) and Matt Barr (Hawley). They aren't the only change though, the show's most iconic ghostly creature - the Headless Horseman - is not showing up in the new season either.

Orlando Jones, who has played the lawman since the show’s debut, won’t be back for Season 3, our sister site Variety reports.

Update: A Broadcasting & Cable editor reports that Jones confirmed his exit at a May 4 event for a gaming website.

His exit comes as the ratings-challenged show undergoes a regime change: The Glades‘ Clifton Campbell recently replaced Mark Goffman as showrunner.

Following a ruling last month that the Television Academy would only consider half hour shows eligible for the comedy category at the Emmys, a panel of nine analysts have now begun handing down the rulings for exemptions in the selection process. The panel, which was set up to determine the category assignment of hour-long shows that appealed their placement in drama, has now ruled, as per Variety, that the Fox show Glee, the Showtime series Shameless, and the CW series Jane The Virgin can compete as comedies at the upcoming primetime Emmys. The decision will apply to all categories, from Acting to Directing, and so on.

One show that notably wasn’t granted a waiver, however, is the Netflix serial Orange Is The New Black. The series, which revolves around the inhabitants of a women’s prison, was categorised as a comedy at last year’s Primetime Emmys, where it picked up three wins.
