Few franchises are as controversial as the feel-good Christmas family comedy "Home Alone." The first two films are widely beloved, bonafide staples of the American Christmas movie canon. However, the subsequent sequels — of which there are many — are almost universally despised. Most people haven't seen all of the "Home Alone" movies, and they might be left wondering — are any of the follow-up films worth watching?

Some feel that Macaulay Culkin leaving the franchise after the second film is what set the subsequent movies up for failure. In this critic's opinion, the "Home Alone" entries 3-6 suffer from a lot more than bad casting. However, I watched every "Home Alone" movie so you didn't have to, and I am here to answer some age-old questions. Firstly, is "Home Alone 2" better than the original? Hollywood is obsessed with reboots as of late, and NBC is gearing up to give the beloved 1990s sitcom “Coach” a whole new run.

According to the network, Craig T. Nelson, the original Coach Hayden Fox, has signed on to reprise his role as well as serve as executive producer alongside creator Barry Kemp.

In a completely unprecedented move, NBC has announced that they have given a straight-to-series order for a multi-camera comedy revival of the ABC 1990s sitcom "Coach".

Thirteen episodes have been ordered for the show which is Not a reboot. Rather this is a follow-up, ala "Girl Meets World," and will be set in the present day. Original star Craig T. Nelson will reprise the role of football coach Hayden Fox which he played on the original sitcom of the same name from 1989 to 1997.

EW has posted a synopsis for the new version which reads as follows: "Coach Hayden Fox, in the present day, has retired from coaching. I use to love watching this movie as a kid and as an adult, I still enjoy it just as much. I had to originally do a search as I had no idea what the title of this movie was but was overjoyed to be able to watch it again when I found out the title. “Waxwork” is a classic B style horror movie that isn’t cringe-worthy but very enjoyable to watch. It was one of the few motion pictures that Vestron at the time actually produced. It was made available in an R-rated and an unrated edition from them. It is available on DVD by Lionsgate.

Not sure how we missed hearing about the new indie thriller Unrequited, especially since it stars one of the Twilight kids, Michael Welch, but considering he's a human in the Saga rather than a sparkly vamp or a member of the wolf pack, I guess it's understandable. You can relive the entire first season of a new Starz TV series on DVD this August. Crash: The Complete First Season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 25. It's just possible that cancellation was a good thing for Jericho. When they heard that CBS was dumping the series after one season, thousands of dedicated fans banded together to convince the network to bring it back. Though the second season wasn't a big success, the show's fanbase had united and remained committed. Now, the Jericho story is set to continue.

William Hurt is reuniting with his The Big Chill co-star Glenn Close for the second season of FX's legal drama series Damages, while D.B. Sweeney, Nick Tarabay and Michael Fairman have joined the ensemble cast of Starz's upcoming drama series Crash.

In Damages, Hurt has signed on for a season-long arc as a new client of attorney Patty Hewes (Close), with whom he shares a a professional as well as personal past. Damages, from Sony and FX Prods., is scheduled to go into production June 24 and return to air in early 2009.

The role marks Hurt's first onscreen reunion since 1983's Big Chill and his first role as a series regular. The Oscar winner, repped by CAA, is currently on the big screen in The Incredible Hulk.

Crash, from Lionsgate, is based on the feature film of the same name but features an entirely new cast of characters. Sweeney (Jericho, Spike Lee's upcoming Miracle at St. Anna) plays Peter Emory, a successful pre-bust real estate developer living in Brentwood with his frustrated wife (Clare Carey) and their teenage daughter.

Dennis Hopper has been tapped to star in Crash, Starz Entertainment's series adaptation of the feature film. Clare Carey also will co-star.

Crash, from Lionsgate, is a 13-episode series featuring a different cast of characters than the film. Hopper will play Ben, a veteran maverick music producer looking for his last big score. The actor's most recent starring series role was NBC's E-Ring.

Carey (Jericho) will play Christine, a frustrated mom who is married to a successful pre-bust real estate developer. Hopper and Carey join the previously cast Luis Chavez, Ross McCall, Jocko Sims, Brian Tee and Arlene Tur.

Production has begun in Albuquerque, N.M., with additional filming to take place in and around Los Angeles, for an October premiere. Sanford Bookstaver (Jericho) is directing the first episode.
