Beach Boys co-founder and pop genius Brian Wilson has died at the age of 82. The news of his passing has inspired fellow musicians to flood social media with their gratitude for his artistry and memories of his music. Update: Along with the below tributes, Wilson’s Beach Boys bandmates Mike Love and Al Jardine have written individual eulogies, and Paul McCartney has shared his own emotional tribute.

Paramount Animation wants to start the weekend by adding some pep to your step with the first single, “Higher Love,” from the forthcoming Smurfs movie. The joyous track hails from Desi Trill and features DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania, and Subhi. You can listen to the track by watching the video posted above, which includes new footage of the Smurfs.

The 43rd annual celebration will be broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and is hosted this year by Alfonso Ribeiro. A total of 20 cameras positioned throughout the city will capture the fireworks around the National Mall.

Scheduled performers include Boyz II Men, Chicago, Belinda Carlisle, Babyface, Maddie & Tae, Charles Esten, Renée Fleming and Adrienne Warren, with performances from America’s Got Talent finalists Northwell Nurse Choir, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the U.S. Army Band with “Pershing’s Own” during the fireworks display, accompanied by live cannon fire provided by the United States Army Presidential Salute Battery.

Alfonso Ribeiro will host PBS’s A Capitol Fourth, the annual Independence Day celebration on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

The live event, airing at 8 p.m. Et, will feature performances by Chicago, Boyz II Men, Belinda Carlisle, Babyface, Maddie & Tae, Charles Esten, the Broadway cast of A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical featuring Will Swenson and Robyn Hurder, and the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jack Everly.
