Any project involving Steven Spielberg should be easy to watch online, especially if it stars bona fide greats like Josh Brolin, Keri Russell, Will Patton, Alan Tudyk, Sean Astin, Gary Busey, Skeet Ulrich, and Michael Spears. However, "Into the West" -- a Western drama the "Jurassic Park" director produced for Dreamworks Television and TNT in the mid-2000s -- proves that even star-studded Spielberg ensemble pieces can get lost in the ether.
"Into the West" is an ambitious project, with all six episodes clocking in at almost two hours each and covering a lot of American history. What's more, the series tapped some notable directors to helm the saga, including horse opera veteran Simon Wincer, who directed one of the all-time great Westerns in "Lonesome Dove."

The season finale of Dark Winds wastes no time catching up with the fraud Dr. Reynolds (John Diehl). By this time, of course, Teddi no longer trusts him. Not only is he a crooked researcher, he’s a self-made murderer. Try as she might to render herself free from the man, he overpowers her even with his aged strength. In a flash Teddi’s head is brutally bashed against the hotel room table, instantly killing her.
Gordo (A. Martinez) and Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) find the blood-riddled vehicle of Dr. Reynolds. And much to their surprise, they find Teddi Issacs dead in the trunk.

"NCIS: Origins" is a change of pace for CBS' long-running procedural franchise. As demonstrated by shows like the canceled "NCIS: New Orleans" and the short-lived "NCIS: Hawaii," the saga previously set its spin-offs in the present day but changed up the locations, leaving the door open to some exciting crossovers. "Origins," on the other hand, travels back to the 1990s and focuses on the Naval Investigative Service (which was later restructured as the Naval Criminal Investigative Service) during a time when some familiar characters were still rising through the ranks -- and dealing with some serious personal drama outside of work.
The prequel aspect of the show allows "NCIS: Origins" to answer some long-lingering questions fans of the property have been asking for years, such as what actually happened to Leroy Jethro Gibbs' wife and daughter prior to "NCIS" and why he came up with some of his famous rules.

Season 4 of Dark Winds, which will begin filming in Santa Fe, New Mexico in March, will also consist of eight, hour-long episodes. The new season will also see the directorial debut of series’ star and executive producer, Zahn McClarnon, and will debut exclusively on AMC and AMC+ in 2026.

Much like Season 3, it will consist of eight episodes. Seasons 1 and 2 had six episodes each.
The news is not a huge surprise given the boost that Dark Winds seems to have gotten from its airing on Netflix. The first two seasons of the show are currently on the streamer and after they dropped in August, they remained in Netflix’s top 10 for over three weeks. Dark Winds also aired on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max as part of a two-month pop-up in 2023.
Season four will also feature the directorial debut of star and exec producer McClarnon.

In a powerful episode of CBS’s “NCIS: Origins,” actor Kyle Schmid brings Mike Franks’ complex veteran experience to life, exploring the challenging transition from military service to civilian life.
The episode, titled “Monsoon,” intertwines two timelines: a present-day investigation into a veteran’s murder and flashbacks to Franks’ life in the 1980s. The narrative highlights the struggles veterans face after returning from war, offering viewers a deeply personal look at one character’s transformative journey.
Schmid portrays Franks as a different man from his later iconic persona – sporting long hair and an unkempt beard. The story centers on his relationship with Tish, played by Tonantzin Carmelo, who becomes a crucial support in his post-war recovery. Their connection begins with a chance encounter when Franks helps her with a flat tire, leading to a pivotal moment where she gives him the haircut that defines his future appearance.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 13 “Monsoon.”] Franks (Kyle Schmid) just couldn’t let it go. The latest NCIS: Origins episode sees him continuing to look into who assaulted Tish (Tonantzin Carmelo), even though she’d asked him not to. But he has a lead — the man has a burn scar on his neck and a possible location — and when he admits as much to Tish, she tells him she loves him anyway but can’t be with him anymore. Flashbacks to 1982 show how they met and she began saving him (with a haircut). Plus, the case in present-day 1991 is a rough one for Franks: A vet (Nick Gomez‘s Tom) accidentally killed his friend during a war flashback. Below, Schmid, who has been delivering standout performances as the show digs into his character, takes us inside this devastating episode for Franks and teases what’s ahead. Note: The following story contains spoilers from “NCIS: Origins” Episode 13.
“NCIS: Origins” gave fans another look back at the beginnings of Mike Franks, with a flashback to the 1980s and a “heart-wrenching” separation.
The 1990s-set CBS spinoff series took a trip down memory lane after a case involving the murder of a Vietnam veteran hit too close to home for Franks (Kyle Schmid). Episode 13, titled “Monsoon,” followed as the team investigated the murder as flashbacks showed Franks struggling to kickstart his life after returning from the war himself, until meeting Tish (Tonantzin Carmelo) helped him get back on track.
The revelations came with a price, as Tish broke things off with Franks by the end of the eventful hour.
“It’s heart-wrenching,” Schmid told TheWrap of his character’s relationship crumbling. Though Franks incited Tish’s decision, Schmid said “there’s more story to tell” between the couple.
