Rebecca Schiffman is an indie-pop songwriter who’s been on the scene for a couple decades already, making noise in New York in the early 2000s. But she gets deep into grown-up problems with her fantastic fourth album Before the Future. It’s a sly, candid sleeper of an album, where Schiffman sets out her life like a box of snapshots, while narrating the details in her dry, matter-of-fact deadpan voice.

Perfume Genius has teamed up with New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding for a new song, “No Front Teeth,” accompanied by a stunningly strange music video.
The track, which will appear on Perfume Genius’ upcoming album, Glory, is a multi-faceted epic, filled with sudden tempo changes and atmospheric swings from tender folk ballad to resonant alt-rock glory. The video, directed by Cody Critcheloe, not only matches this potent mixture, but injects it with a fresh strain of visual mayhem.

Perfume Genius will return this spring with an album that he’s describing as one of the boldest artistic statements of his 15-year career. Glory, out March 28 on his longtime label Matador Records, is the seventh studio album from Mike Hadreas’ long-running art-rock project.
Lead single “It’s a Mirror” features a propulsive folk-rock arrangement under Hadreas’ voice as he sings about internal conflicts and longing for freedom: “What do I get out of being established?/I still run and hide when a man’s at the door.”

Hollywoodnews.com: Lionsgate is filling its slate with a trio of titles that it will distribute in partnership with Im Global, and we are starting to get a few more details about each project, thanks to Variety.
Jason Statham will headline “Safe,” which is currently in production. Written and directed by Boaz Yakin, the film co-stars Danni Lang, James Colby and Tim Carr. There’s no release date right now.
Meanwhile, Simon West’s “Protection” will go into production in March, with a New Mexico shoot. Dwayne Johnson will star in the action thriller, which casts the former wrestler as a disgraced former American Special Forces operative who must rescue a judge’s kidnapped daughter from a Mexican cartel, according to IMDb.
But the most anticipated title in the bunch has to be “Dredd,” a retry of the graphic novel that once was adapted into a Stallone vehicle.
