Our list below includes almost 100 people who made a strong contribution to television and have died since mid-September of 2021 following the previous Emmys ceremony. Only about 40-45 of these people will probably be in the video segment. Dick Carson, brother of TV legend Johnny Carson and a former director for The Tonight Show, died at 92 at his home in Studio City, Calif. on December 19, 2021 following a brief illness, his family said.

Richard Charles Carson, was born in Clarinda, Iowa, the youngest of three children of Homer Lloyd (“Kit”) and Ruth Hook Carson.

He began his career in Nebraska radio. Later, at San Diego television station Kogo-tv, the local NBC affiliate, he first worked as a “floor man” for local programming, and then began directing commercials and local news and sports shows.

When a summer job opportunity as a stage manager and associate director for ABC in Los Angeles became available in 1960, he commuted to fill it. Within months, that led to moving his family to the city to take a permanent position directing children’s programs including “Chucko the Birthday Clown.” He later moved on to directing “The Soupy Sales Show.

Dick Carson, a TV director who worked on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and was the younger brother to the show’s host, died on Dec. 19, 2021 following a brief illness. He was 92 years old.

Carson’s death was announced by his family through publicist Charlie Barrett.

A solid animated movie with a bit more heart than expected. Here's our review of Capture The Flag...

Not bad, this. An animated film that's been put out by Paramount ahead of the broader relaunch of Paramount Animation, Capture The Flag's origins actually lie in Spain. The work of director Enrique Gato and his team, their approach has been commercially savvy. It's a Spanish film, made by a Spanish studios, yet Capture The Flag is set in America, was clearly made with an English language audience in mind, and plays on fairly straightforward, universal themes.

It also has nothing to do with Unreal Tournament or Doom, sadly.

Instead, this is a family animation, which at heart is the story of a young surfer by the name of Richard - introduced in one of the sequences given away in the spoiler-y trailer - who finds himself trying...

Although Christopher Showerman is a very fit actor (having swung from a vine wearing only a loincloth and muscles in the George of the Jungle sequel, to mention just one rather physical role), he spends most of his time in the new horror movie Vitals unconscious, semi-conscious, and about to be knocked unconscious.

He plays Richard Carson, a man who’s taken his wife on vacation to India in hopes of fixing their severed marriage… unfortunately, it’s he who is severed when he runs afoul of some nasty organ-snatchers who kidnap him and start a’cutting.
