Jane Morgan, “Fascination” Singer and ‘Ed Sullivan Show’ Staple, Dies at 101
Image
Jane Morgan, the elegant American singer who dazzled audiences in Paris nightclubs, on just about every TV variety show of her era and at the Oscars and had a hit record with the lovely standard “Fascination,” has died. She was 101.

Morgan was in hospice care and died Monday in her sleep of natural causes in Naples, Florida, her family announced.

A classy performer known for her silky smooth phrasing, Morgan moved from New York to France in the late 1940s to build her career before returning the U.S. and becoming a very popular singer through the mid-1960s.

She recorded about 40 albums around the world and sang in five languages, making her a true international star.

Morgan appeared dozens of times on The Ed Sullivan Show and was a welcomed recurring guest on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, Perry Como’s Kraft Music Hall and The Hollywood Palace and...

The Simpsons Episode That's Filled With Stargate Easter Eggs
Image
"The Simpsons" has surely featured the best guest stars of any TV show in history. Some of that is simply by virtue of having run for a full 36 seasons, but in the early years especially, the show had so much cachet as a cultural force that big-name stars simply couldn't stay away. Though there is one type of guest star "The Simpsons" has yet to land, the long-running series has hosted everyone from A-list actors such as Michelle Pfeiffer to musical icons such as Johnny Cash.

As such, Richard Dean Anderson of "MacGyver" and "Stargate Sg-1" fame might not seem like the most notable guest appearance. But the actor's cameo on "The Simpsons" was about more than simply securing yet another celebrity to add to the long list of guest stars. As it happens, Anderson's "Sg-1" character, Colonel Jack O'Neill, is a big fan of the animated sitcom, to...

‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Is Back: Release Date Set with New Poster and New Look Images
Image
Coyote vs. Acme is officially back from the dead, and it’s heading to theaters around the world on August 28, 2026. The announcement came during a lively panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where cast and crew celebrated the movie’s surprising return.

The hybrid live-action and animation film, originally made by Warner Bros., was shelved in 2023 as part of a tax write-off move. It seemed like the movie would never see the light of day. But that changed when Ketchup Entertainment stepped in and bought the worldwide rights for around $50 million.

The company had also rescued another abandoned Looney Tunes film, The Day the Earth Blew Up, which ended up making over $15 million worldwide.

Paul Scheer, who hosted the Comic-Con panel, poked fun at the movie’s rocky journey. “This movie wasn’t supposed to come out,” he said. “I heard Warner Bros wouldn’t release the film — I’ve never heard of Warner Bros!

‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Reveals Release Date with Fresh Images and New Poster Drop
Image
Coyote vs. Acme has officially locked in a global release date: August 28, 2026. The announcement came straight from San Diego Comic-Con, where the cast and creators gave fans a first look at what’s to come from the long-shelved live-action and animated hybrid.

During the panel, actor and moderator Paul Scheer joked about the wild journey the movie’s had, saying, “This movie wasn’t supposed to come out,” and followed up with, “I heard Warner Bros wouldn’t release the film — I’ve never heard of Warner Bros! This is really an Acme decision and I’m saying that for legal purposes.”

Scheer later added, “Ketchup is single-handedly saving the Looney Tunes. Mr. Ketchup, we salute you.”

Originally made by Warner Bros. with a reported $70 million budget, Coyote vs. Acme was pulled from release back in 2023 so the studio could claim it as a tax write-off. But in 2025, Ketchup Entertainment...

‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Has the Knives Out for Warner Bros. at Sdcc, Plus Release Date Revealed
Image
If the long, twist-filled “Coyote vs. Acme” fight for a release was “It’s a Wonderful Life,” then Ketchup Entertainment would be all the townspeople at the end (79-year-old spoiler) chipping in to make sure George Bailey doesn’t go under. That’s as far as the analogy goes, though film fans can easily guess who is Mr. Potter in this scenario.

Regardless, the townspeople have won the day, and “Coyote vs. Acme” is indeed on its way — finally — with a theatrical release set for August 28, 2026. To sum things up as quickly as possible: the $70 million live-action/animated movie was one of a few (paging “Batgirl”) that were shelved in 2023 as tax write-offs for Warner Bros. (to the tune of $30 million), even though the movie had tested well. After a fan outcry, the film was put up for sale to other studios… but then it quickly was dead in the water again,...

Coyote Vs Acme First Footage Reveals Wile's Reasons For Seeking Legal Help & Courtroom Drama In New Comedy Movie
Image
The first footage from the upcoming live-action legal comedy Coyote vs. Acme played at San Diego Comic-Con with Screen Rant in attendance, and it provided a glimpse of what to expect. Starring John Cena and Will Forte at the head of a talented human cast, Coyote vs. Acme will see actors and actresses interacting with CGI toons a la Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

At the movie's Hall H panel at Comic-Con, the team behind Coyote vs. Acme also confirmed a theatrical release date, which is set for August 28th, 2025. Originally due to be shelved forever for the sake of a $30 million tax break for Warner Bros., public backlash and lobbying from its creators and cast helped give the movie new life and a wide theatrical release.

At Comic-Con, the audience at Hall H was lucky enough to see legitimate footage. The initial clip sees Wile E. Coyote reminiscing about all...

Coyote vs. Acme gets a summer 2026 theatrical release date
David Zaslav
David Zaslav may be hellbent on erasing the iconic Looney Tunes properties at Warner Bros. (including removing the classic Merry Melodies shorts from the Max streaming service and demolishing the Looney Tunes building), but Ketchup Entertainment here to save the day. They released the Looney Tunes movie, The Day the Earth Blew Up, and recently acquired Coyote vs. Acme, which was once destined to be scrapped for a tax write-off, like Batgirl and other projects that Warner Bros. threw in the trash. Ketchup previously let it be known that they’ll be giving Coyote vs. Acme a theatrical release sometime in 2026, and now more information has been revealed at a San Diego Comic-Con panel – including the fact that the movie’s release is still over a year away! The official global release date is August 28, 2026.

Directed by Dave Green from a screenplay by Samy Burch (who crafted the story with...

‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Debuts First Footage as Will Forte Reflects on Salvaged Film: “I Had Given Up Hope”
Image
After a very bumpy road, Coyote vs. Acme’s team took to San Diego Comic-Con to celebrate the movie finally heading to the big screen and announce its forthcoming release date.

“I’m pretty speechless,” Will Forte told the crowd about the movie landing a release from Ketchup Entertainment after being dropped by Warner Bros. “It blows my mind. You think back to the journey this movie has taken. I had kind of given up hope at a certain point, so this is amazing.”

The first footage from Coyote vs. Acme featured a montage of Wile E. Coyote’s failed attempts to thwart the Road Runner, which was set to Johnny Cash’s version of the Nine Inch Nails hit “Hurt.” Later, Wile E. Coyote happens to see a TV commercial from attorney Kevin Avery, as played by Forte.

‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Lands August 2026 Release Date, Footage Debuts at Comic-Con Despite Acme Corp. Meddling
Image
Hollywood’s improbable underdog “Coyote vs. Acme” has finally landed a global theatrical release date. Star Will Forte announced at the film’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con that the live-action/animation hybrid will premiere on Aug. 28, 2026.

“Coyote vs. Acme” — about Looney Tunes stalwart Wyle E. Coyote suing the Acme Corporation for all its faulty tools in his pursuit of the Road Runner — was infamously shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery in 2023 after it was completed, so the company could write off its $30 million budget. The movie was greenlit by the previous regime for the streaming service HBO Max, but the team led by Wbd’s CEO David Zaslav decided to abandon that strategy and focus on theatrical releases instead. That decision led to the notorious cancellation of HBO Max films “Batgirl” and “Scoob! Holiday Haunt” in 2022.

Unlike those movies, however, “Coyote vs. Acme” was rescued by Ketchup Entertainment, which acquired...

Complete Unseen: New Doc on History of Newport Folk Festival Announced
Image
For anyone who saw A Complete Unknown and wondered how close it resembled the actual Newport Folk Festival where Bob Dylan amped up his music, a new documentary will help answer that question.

Among the many films just announced as part of the annual Venice Film Festival in September is Newport & the Great Folk Dream, which documents the legendary (and ongoing) festival in the pivotal folk-to-rock years between 1963 and 1966. The doc includes footage of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band — some of it from the same...

Director Sean Ellis has had an unusual career; if it seems like his fellow Brits, David Mackenzie and Kevin Macdonald have been genre-agnostic, Ellis has taken things a step farther. He remains best known for the deeply affecting drama Metro Manila, which is essentially a foreign-language film. But a few years ago, he tried his hand at horror. He directed the werewolf movie The Cursed, starring Kelly Reilly and Boyd Holbrook, and while the film didn't make much of a dent at the box office, it's climbing up the streaming ranks following its Netflix debut.

According to FlixPatrol, The Cursed was the sixth-most-popular film on Netflix in the United States on July 20, beating the likes of Brick, Penguins of Madagascar, Despicable Me 4, and The Old Guard 2. That's quite a diverse slate of titles for any film to outperform, let alone one that barely got a theatrical release despite being designed for one.

Jim Marshall’s Unseen Grateful Dead
Image
In a career immersed in rock & roll photography, the late Jim Marshall was long associated with certain iconic images: Johnny Cash flashing his middle finger at San Quentin, Bob Dylan and Suze Rotolo walking the streets of Greenwich Village, Jimi Hendrix thrusting his left arm out during his soundcheck for Monterey Pop.

But Marshall’s ongoing documentation of the Grateful Dead embodied a unique bond between photographer and subject. Marshall, who moved back to his native San Francisco in 1964 after two years in New York, met the band soon after it formed.

Could ‘Sinners’ campaign as a musical at the Golden Globes? The surprising answer
Image
As discussed in Gold Derby's 2025 Oscars halftime report, Sinners is sitting pretty with just under six months to go for the rest of the year. Of the films that have had theatrical releases thus far this calendar year, it's the easy frontrunner for Best Picture, and it's cultural footprint is about to become even larger as it heads to Max on July 4.

At this point, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Ryan Coogler's period vampire thriller will be a contender in year-end awards.

But which year-end awards?

There is an interesting possibility for Sinners when it comes specifically to its placement for the Golden Globes, which divides up the major film categories between drama and musical or comedy. Music, the blues and Irish folk in particular, is an essential element of the film — both in the lives of its characters and in the texture of the film itself...

That’s right, in an interview, co-creator Latoya Morgan explained why Presley didn’t make the final cut, and it all came down to one simple reason: they couldn’t afford him. Let’s dive deeper!

How Cmat Invented Her Own Kind of Country Music — and a Dance Craze

If you assembled a focus group of today’s country artists and asked them to list their biggest influences, a few names would probably rise to the top: Johnny Cash and Hank Williams; Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. More contemporary icons like Shania Twain and George Strait would come up, and even underappreciated legends like Billie Joe Shaver and Tanya Tucker. But even if you sat this focus group down and locked them in a room for 24 hours, it’s likely not a single one of them would utter the...

Spock Rocks: Leonard Nimoy’s odd music career
Image
Leonard Nimoy’s name is almost instantly associated with Star Trek, and it’s hard to imagine the show without thinking of the venerable Vulcan fans know and love. While most fans know that Nimoy appeared on a variety of television shows before and after Star Trek, what they might not know is that he also enjoyed singing. During the 1970s, he attempted to establish himself as a singer and even released several albums. Let’s take a look at this odd phase of Nimoy’s career and how it happened.

Mr. Spock’s Music From Outer Space

Paramount approached Charles Grean, who worked for Paramount’s Dot record label, about making an album connected with Star Trek. Grean’s young daughter, a Star Trek fan, suggested that an album connected with the show should have Mr. Spock on it. When Grean approached Nimoy about participating, the actor was eager to do so,...

Willi Carlisle ‘Winged Victory’ Review: A Triumphant Monument to the Marginalized
Image
Dating back to more than 2,000 years, a sculpture of Nike, the Greek goddess of conquest, known as the Winged Victory of Samothrace is believed to have been created as part of a larger ancient monument. Since its discovery in the 19th century, it’s come to represent important triumphs, especially in war.

In stark contrast, “Winged Victory,” a track on Willi Carlisle’s album of the same name, is about dead-end jobs, daffodils, and farm animals. In fact, the song’s title refers not to battle, a divine entity, or a work of art, but a donkey. Yet Carlisle sings with such fist-pumping ferocity about America’s unsung workers that he elevates them to the level of myth, and offers an affectingly simple explanation as to why: “I believe in the impossible/That no one is expendable.”

This is the central ethos of Carlisle’s ever-evolving bluegrass oeuvre, including last...

The 10 Best Movie Musicals for People Who Hate Musicals
Image
Musicals can feel like a tough sell with their flashy songs and dance routines, but some films break through with gripping stories, sharp wit, or raw heart. These movies win over even those who cringe at spontaneous singing, feeling more like great cinema than stagey spectacles.

We’ve selected 10 movie musicals that ditch the Broadway fluff, ranked from captivating to unforgettable. Here’s why these films will hook you, even if musicals aren’t your vibe.

10. The Blues Brothers – English (1980) Universal Pictures

Jake and Elwood Blues race to save their orphanage with soulful tunes and wild car chases. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd’s deadpan humor keeps it grounded and gritty.

The soundtrack, featuring Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles, feels like a live show, not a musical. We’re hooked by its chaotic, soulful energy.

9. School of Rock – English (2003) Paramount Pictures

'9-1-1: Nashville' Trailer Teases Flaming Tornado Crisis - Watch Now!

9-1-1: Nashville released a suspenseful new trailer!

ABC just dropped the promo for the newest spinoff series of the 9-1-1 franchise. In the clip, firefighters appear to be chasing a flaming tornado while a cover of Johnny Cash‘s “Ring of Fire” plays.

Meanwhile, executive producer Tim Minear recently explained the choice behind the show’s setting.

“There were a lot of possibilities that had been talked about. I think that it’s a really interesting city with its own personality. It’s very unlike Austin. We did kind of a red state 9-1-1, but Austin is a very blue town. Nashville felt even a little bit more Southern. It also has the country music industry, and it just felt like it could be a fun place to set a piece of the franchise,” he told TVLine.

Keep reading to find out more…

9-1-1: Nashville is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Murphy, Minear and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers, with O’Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk and Bassett also executive producing.

Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group, spoke with Deadline last month about the upcoming spinoff.

As a result, she bills the project as “a manifesto, a tribute to both a city and a genre, a defiant cry for individuality, and a deep exploration of America.”

Coastal Review: Intimate Performances, Tepid Momentum
Image
Neil Young: Coastal, directed by Daryl Hannah, received a one-night‐only theatrical release on April 17, 2025, with select weekend screenings thereafter. The film documents Young’s July 2023 solo tour of outdoor arenas along the U.S. West Coast—his first live performances in four years and his first since the Covid‐19 hiatus.

At 79, Young stands as a lodestar of North American rock culture, and this documentary captures that moment when a storied artist returns to bare‐bones touring without a backing band.

In global terms, folk‐rock icons from Johnny Cash to Joni Mitchell have travelled beyond their national roots, resonating with international audiences who find universality in acoustic storytelling. Coastal situates Young within this lineage: stripped of layered studio production, he relies on plain guitar and harmonica, his vocals cutting through open air.

For viewers accustomed to polished concert films—whether from Bollywood’s elaborate musical numbers or Japan...

Shaboozey Defends Megan Moroney After “Hateful Comments” Following Ama’s Side-Eye: “Let’s Not Twist The Message”
Image
Shaboozey is clarifying his viral reaction at the 2025 American Music Awards and noting it had nothing to do with his co-presenter Megan Moroney.

The country star presented the Favorite Country Duo or Group category at the AMAs in Las Vegas on Monday night alongside Moroney.

Reading off the teleprompter, Moroney said the award they were going to present had been awarded to The Carter Family, “who basically invented country music.” This remark prompted a side-eye from Shaboozey, which turned him into an instant meme.

Following the viral AMAs moment, Shaboozey took to Moroney’s latest Instagram post to clear up that the shade was not to her, as she didn’t write the script she read at the award show.

“Just want to clear something up: my reaction at the AMAs had nothing to do with Megan Moroney!” Shaboozey wrote. “She’s an incredibly talented, hard-working artist who’s doing amazing things for country music,...

Shaboozey Responds to Viral Reaction to Megan Maroney at AMAs 2025
Image
Shaboozey is speaking out after that viral moment during the 2025 American Music Awards.

On Monday (May 26), the 30-year-old “Tipsy (A Bar Song)” singer and Megan Moroney presented the Favorite Country Duo or Group award winner at the ceremony.

“Country music has been an important part of Ama history,” he said. “The very first year of this show, the award for Favorite Male Country Artist went to the great Charley Pride.”

“That same year, Favorite Female Artist went to Lynn Anderson. And this award went to the Carter family, who basically invented country music,” Megan read off the teleprompter, which prompted Shaboozey to side-eye the comment.

Keep reading to find out more…

He let out a brief laugh before introducing the “very impressive” nominees for the Favorite Country Duo or Group category, as the reaction went viral on social media.

The next day (May 27), Shaboozey seemingly addressed the viral moment.

Amas 2025: Shaboozey Goes Viral For Reaction To Megan Moroney Saying The Carter Family Invented Country Music
Image
Shaboozey became a meme following a viral moment at the 2025 American Music Awards.

The country star took the stage in Las Vegas next to fellow artist Megan Moroney to present the Favorite Country Duo or Group category.

Shaboozey started by remembering that country music has been a part of the AMAs’ history, recalling that the award for Favorite Male Country Artist went to Charley Pride.

Things got awkward when Moroney took a turn reading off the teleprompter, saying, “That same year, Favorite Female Artist went to Lynn Anderson, and this award [Favorite Country Duo or Group] went to the Carter family, who basically invented country music.”

Shaboozey paused to process Moroney’s words and let out a laugh before continuing to present the nominees in the category, which was ultimately won by the duo Dan and Shay.

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Mick Jagger Teaming On Biopic Of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Godmother Of Rock And Roll, For Live Nation Productions
Image
Exclusive: Live Nation Productions has tapped Oscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (Nickel Boys) to pen a feature centered on “Godmother of Rock and Roll” Sister Rosetta Tharpe, with rock legend Mick Jagger producing.

Hailing from Tribeca Studios, Jagged Films, and Inaudible Productions, the project has the participation of Tharpe’s estate, which has granted rights to her music catalogue. In the making of the film, the producers will also draw on Gayle Wald’s definitive biography Shout, Sister, Shout!: The Untold Story of Rock-and-Roll Trailblazer Sister Rosetta Tharpe, to which they’ve secured exclusive rights.

Rising to fame in the ’30s and ’40s, Sister Rosetta Tharpe was a trailblazing gospel guitarist and singer whose fearless transgressions of musical boundaries laid the foundation for rock and roll. An artist who broke barriers as a Black woman in music, she influenced countless legends with her music — among them, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash,...

This Is the Religious Icon Conan O’Brien Is Named After
Image
No, Conan O’Brien isn’t named after the famous Barbarian.

But what about the notorious bacteria? A listener wrote in to the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast trying to validate that particular theory. “I love you guys so much,” they wrote. “Have you heard about Conan the Bacterium? This is a real bacterium that can survive radiation.”

“What if that’s what you’re named after?” wondered podcast cohost Sona Movsesian. “Because your dad’s a microbiologist.”

Nope, that’s not how the whole naming thing went down, according to O’Brien. In real life, he actually went without a name for a short while as his parents couldn’t land on the perfect monicker. “They want the name right away,” O’Brien said. “And my dad said he wanted to go to the medical school library and look. He didn’t have the name yet, and he...

Image

Atonement, which rolls cameras this month in Jordon and Texas, is about a troubled marine who seeks to reconcile with the survivors of an Iraqi family he and his unit fired on back in 2003.

The movie is the feature directorial debut of Reed Van Dyk, who was Oscar-nominated for his 2017 short DeKalb Elementary. Based on a 911 call, that pic followed a gunman who enters an elementary school and encounters a compassionate employee.

The ensemble trio lead the movie that comes 13 years after Dexter Filkins’ resonant New Yorker article, which was also titled Atonement. Final Destination: Bloodlines Review: Silly, Bloody Rollercoaster Ride Delivers Franchise Highs
Image
As legacy horror franchises attempt to worm their way back into the public imagination with largely unsatisfying reboot-sequel hybrids, bringing characters old and new together, alarm bells should have been ringing at the prospect of a new Final Destination. With the exception of the second movie, where Ali Larter’s protagonist returned to co-lead and gave a crash course on how to cheat death, continuity has been restricted to Tony Todd cameos, the franchise’s overarching premise so easily adaptable that it didn’t exactly need to exist in a shared universe. Of course it did––the twist ending to the fifth installment, which revealed we’d been watching a stealth prequel to the first all along, was the biggest reminder––but more so than any other slasher, here was a long-running series where any entry could successfully function as its own standalone beast. The idea of transforming the series...

John Mulaney, Rock Hall of Fame Enthusiast, Breaks Down This Year’s Class — and Snubs!
Image
John Mulaney has learned a few things about life from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This sounds like the setup for a joke. But the comedian, late-night host, and low-key music obsessive has long been fascinated with the Cleveland institution, the artists it deems worthy for inclusion (or continually snubs), and especially the annual induction ceremony that can reunite bands, rekindle old feuds, and cause music nerds to argue endlessly.

For example, to the yearly batch of inducted artists who seem deeply uncomfortable with the idea of the ceremony,...

“Colby’s death is so powerful because..”: Why Did Taylor Sheridan Kill Colby, Yellowstone Director’s Honest Verdict
Image
“Ain’t no grave can hold my body down…” crooned Johnny Cash, but clearly, Colby didn’t get the memo. One minute he was wrangling horses with his signature swagger, the next… wham!, hoof to the chest, lights out. As Yellowstone trudged through its curtain-closing season in December 2024, the last thing fans expected was Colby—sweet, steady Colby—to get taken out like a fly at a rodeo.

Taylor Sheridan, a man with a pen as sharp as a branding iron, didn’t just yank the reins on John Dutton’s dynasty; he kicked the emotional beehive wide open. Colby’s death was an oddly quiet gunshot in a season packed with explosives. But maybe, just maybe, that was the point. And as director Christina Voros puts it, “It happens in a split-second.” Just like that… Colby wass gone.

Why did Taylor Sheridan kill Colby? Christina Voros explains his sudden exit Richards as Colby.

Revenge of the Remakes: Horror Reboots That Actually Worked
Image
Horror remakes get a bad rap – and let’s be honest, they often deserve it. For every clever reimagining, we’ve sat through a dozen limp reboots that sucked the life (and the scares) right out of the original. But sometimes, a remake comes along that doesn’t just cash in on nostalgia; it sharpens, reinvents, or even surpasses the source material.

With fresh remakes like Wolf Man (2025) and Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein reboot lighting up horror headlines, now’s the perfect time to revisit the remakes that proved this subgenre can deliver more than lazy copy-paste thrills. Here’s our list of horror reboots and remakes that earned their place in the genre’s blood-soaked hall of fame.

Horror Remakes That Actually Worked The Thing (1982)

John Carpenter’s The Thing often gets cited as one of the best horror remakes ever made… and for good reason. While...

Only 1 person could get Eddie Murphy to go to an SNL afterparty
Image
Few stars in entertainment were as bright as Eddie Murphy during the 1980s. It also meant the Saturday Night Live star did things his own way, including avoiding SNL afterparties. That is, until one music superstar convinced Murphy to go.

Saturday Night Live afterparties are legendary and a key aspect of the show's 50-year history. Countless stories have been shared (or alluded to) over the years as cast members gave a behind-the-scenes look at how SNL blows off steam after a show.

One would think Eddie Murphy stood at the center of SNL's parties during the '80s. But that wasn't the case, as Murphy explained during a visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"I was 19, and it's 1980, '81," Murphy said. "So I was the only Black person up there, and I was the only teenager up there. So I was like, 'I don't want to party with them!

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Level Up at Brooklyn Arena Rock Concert
Image
Look at him now: Nick Cave’s transforming. He’s vibrating. He’s glowing. He’s flying. Look at him now.

At Thursday night’s Bad Seeds concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Cave proved to a U.S. audience what Europe has known for decades: that he — rock’s gothic poet laureate, master of emotional intimacy, and, as a side hustle, introspective advice columnist — is indeed an arena rocker. He’s attempted that feat in the States before, staging a brilliant and occasionally heartrending concert at the same venue...
