Netflix Untamed episode 2 recap: Meeting Shane and revealing Jane Doe's name
Image
This post contains spoilers from Untamed episode 2 from this point forward.

While the first episode of Untamed left us with no real revelations about Jane Doe, the premiere did reveal that Turner and Jill's son Caleb died many years in the past. The second episode jumps off from the somber and slightly chilling ending of episode 1 by taking us along for what seems like Jane Doe's final moments in the woods before her death. She drops bottles of pills and hides her backpack in a cooler before the gunshot is fired.

Following that flashback, Turner's back in the woods investigating on foot and he finds the rogue pill bottles. There don't seem to be labels, but it's a start. Souter checks in with Naya, who explains Turner's connection with the bracelet and Camp Wildwood, but Souter reveals to her that there are a box of leftover bracelets in a closet.

Doc Season 1, Episode 2 recap and review: "Try Try Again"
Image
A common occurrence with episodes that follow a series premiere is that it feels a certain need to replicate the beats of said premiere for viewers so that they can become familiar with the rhythms of the show. Doc's "Try Try Again" is no exception to that but not necessarily to its detriment.

Caution: This post contains Spoilers for Doc Season 1, Episode 2

A rough adjustment in Doc episode 2

We pick back up with Amy as she attempts to adjust to both being a patient and the uncertainty of her future as a doctor. One is easier for her to deal with than the other. While she is still healing, her CMO/ex-husband Michael — along with others in charge at the hospital — are hesitant to give her job back. It doesn't help that in the last few years, she has received enough complaints to give administrators pause. The implication made in...

Rabbit Hole Ending Explained
Image
Warning: Spoilers For Rabbit Hole Episode 8!The season 1 finale of Paramount Plus thriller Rabbit Hole brought the show to a predictably unpredictable conclusion. Rabbit Hole was inspired by the paranoid conspiracy thrillers of old such as Three Days of the Condor or The Parallax View, and it's the kind of show that excelled in pulling the rug out from viewers just as they felt they had a grip on the narrative. Rabbit Hole's season 1 finale "Ace in the Hole" was no different, and in addition to being a satisfying conclusion to the current story, it left some loose ends for a potential second season.

Watching Rabbit Hole's first seven episodes and summing up the story concisely is no mean feat but in broad strokes, it involved Kiefer Sutherland's corporate spy John Weir working with his mismatched team to expose a conspiracy to subvert American democracy. Weir worked...

Rabbit Hole: Why 24 Fans Will Love Kiefer Sutherland’s New Show
Image
This article contains spoilers for 24 and episodes 1 and 2 of Rabbit Hole.

Since Keifer Sutherland played one of the most iconic American heroes of television in 24, the established actor has tried to recapture the magic he did as CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit) agent Jack Bauer. With a few short stops on the big screen, Sutherland’s television resume was padded with stints on Designated Survivor, The Fugitive, and The First Lady, often trading in his typical role of saving the president, for playing the commander-in-chief.

Yet nothing matched the audience numbers or spoke to fans as much as his eight-plus seasons on 24. Until now.

While The Fugitive certainly had life or death situations and Designated Survivor had political espionage, they lacked the same kind of intrigue as the Fox drama that started it all. Rabbit Hole seems like a great companion piece for 24 as the twists, turns, and action-centered plot feels...

Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 14

As a longtime comics reader, one of they rules that gets ingrained early is “Unless you see a body, they’re not dead.” Superheroes in comics have been dying and coming back since the dawn of superheroes, but when there’s a corpse seen on screen, it’s much harder to undo.

So…uh…what about when someone goes from “breathing” to “truffle powder” on screen? He’s dead, right?

There’s certainly time (one episode) and ample opportunity (maybe he’s a mushroom now? Nobody knows how mushrooms work) to undo the events of tonight’s episode, but for the moment, John Constantine looks really super dead. And it happened on one of Legends of Tomorrow’s best episodes. Honestly, if I was going to ding “There Will Be Brood” for anything, it would be for packing too much in,...

Lucky 7: Should the ABC Series Be Cancelled Soon?
The new season has just begun and it looks like ABC's Lucky 7 is already the frontrunner to be the first show cancelled.

Lucky 7 revolves around a a group of employees who work at a service station in Queens, New York. Their lives get turned upside down when they win millions of dollars in the lottery. The drama's ensemble cast includes Summer Bishil, Lorraine Bruce, Alexandra Castillo, Christine Evangelista, Stephen Louis Grush, Matt Long, Anastasia Phillips, Luis Antonio Ramos, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

The series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.43 million total viewers. It was in a distant third place in its timeslot, attracting less than half as many viewers as Chicago Fire.

Lucky 7: Season One ratings
ABC has tried ensemble dramas like Six Degrees, The Nine, and My Generation -- and they were all ratings disappointments and quickly cancelled. Will Lucky 7 be different and make it to a second season? We shall see.

Lucky 7 follows a group of service station employees who win the lottery. They think that the money will solve all of their problems but, of course, things become much more complicated. The show features the talents of Summer Bishil, Lorraine Bruce, Alexandra Castillo, Christine Evangelista, Stephen Louis Grush, Matt Long, Anastasia Phillips, Luis Antonio Ramos, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, around...

Lucky 7: Is the ABC Drama Worth Watching Again?
On ABC's new ensemble drama, Lucky 7, a group of seven gas station employees strike it rich with a winning lottery ticket. The cast includes Summer Bishil, Lorraine Bruce, Alexandra Castillo, Christine Evangelista, Stephen Louis Grush, Matt Long, Anastasia Phillips, Luis Antonio Ramos, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

Will this series be lucky for ABC and bring big ratings? Is it lucky for viewers who are looking for a new dramatic TV series? Well, here's what some of the critics think:

Salt Lake Tribune: "Yes, TV can be serious. But it should also be entertaining. This is a drab downer of a show filled with characters who are, for the most part, hard to connect with. The money-can't-but-happiness message is delivered with all the subtIety of a baseball bat to the side of the head. It's hard to see that Lucky 7 is going any place...

Lucky 7 TV Review – ABC Sucks The Charm Out Of British TV
Lucky 7 is yet another translation of British television for American audiences, and it’s about par for the course. While some efforts (mostly long ago and far away, with the exception of The Office) have come together to create long-lived, and beloved series, this isn’t an avenue of series creation that has a solid, recent track record.

Based on the British show, The Syndicate, it’s the story of a group of coworkers at a gas station who have been playing the same numbers for years, and fear for the jobs as rumors abound that the station is closing. All with their own monetary woes, which are laid out for us in great detail, this rag tag assortment of characters is about to find out that there are a lot of problems that come with their sudden riches.

The main trouble this show is going to have is in the translation of format.

TV Review: ‘Lucky 7’ Misses Chance to Win Creatively
Chicago – “Lucky 7,” debuting tonight on ABC to end their practically unprecedented attempt at an entire night of new programming, is a case of concept over actual character. The creators of this inert drama think cluttering their storytelling with various subplots will make up for the fact that you just don’t care about any of them. It’s a case of quantity over quality and that never works. I could be wrong but this one’s high on my list of shows that could be cancelled before Christmas.

Television Rating: 2.0/5.0

The premise of “Lucky 7” is one that I bet has been floating around pilot pitch meetings for years. What would you do if you and your co-workers actually won that lotto pool that you plug a buck or two into every week? How would it change your life? Your friendships? Your relationships? Such is the dynamic at the...
