The first wave of the 2017 Screamfest Horror Film Festival lineup and the festival ambassador have been announcement.

The festival will run from October 10-19, 2017 at the Tcl Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood. With Hollywood studios and SoCal theme parks shifting towards horror and scares for Halloween, America’s largest horror film festival, Screamfest Horror Film Festival, just announced its first wave of films to be showcased from October 10-19 at the Tcl Chinese in Hollywood.

Additionally, Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) was named as this year’s festival ambassador.

“I am extremely honored to serve as this year’s Screamfest ambassador,” said Monaghan in a press release. “I applaud Screamfest and its founder and festival director Rachel Belofsky for embracing the work of filmmakers and actors in the horror genre. If you've read my retrospective interviews on the series or heard me rave about it on our high school-themed episode of Corpse Club, then you know that I absolutely adore the Crowley High kids who for two years were "fighting evil with mixed results" on the TV series Todd & The Book of Pure Evil. Years after the show was prematurely canceled, the cast and crew of the cult series are reuniting for one more blood-spattered ride in the animated film Todd & The Book of Pure Evil: The End of the End, and Raven Banner has revealed the official trailer for the film ahead of its release this fall.

Raven Banner Entertainment will release the animated film Todd & The Book of Pure Evil: The End of the End. This follow-up to the television series will show in Toronto, in early September. Here, it will have its World Premiere. The film is an assortment of gore gags and Satanic sing-a-longs. A truly crazed experience, this title brings back some familiar names including: Alex House, Maggie Castle, Bill Turnbull and Jason Mewes. Todd & The Book of Pure Evil: The End of the End will also have a home entertainment launch this December. The latest release details are hosted here. To build on the story, Todd, Jenny and Curtis grieve over the loss of their friend Hannah (Melanie Leishman). Her death might have been caused by a familiar cursed book. The trailer – which you can watch below – featuring tons of blood, guts, boners, decapitations, dildo nunchucks, and of course super badass demons, promises that the film is going to be loaded with the same juvenile jokes, gore gags, and satanic sing-alongs that made the original TV series a worldwide hit.

Though it was prematurely cancelled in 2012, the horror comedy TV series Todd & The Book of Pure Evil has lived on through the memories of its loyal fan base, been discovered by a new audience on home media, and will return in an animated film in the near future. Last fall, I had the great pleasure of speaking with the series' co-creators and main cast, who looked back on fighting evil... with mixed results.

In this second part of Daily Dead's retrospective on Todd & The Book of Pure Evil, Alex House (Todd Smith), Maggie Castle (Jenny Kolinsky), Bill Turnbull (Curtis Weaver), Melanie Leishman (Hannah B. Raven Banner has boarded a feature-length version of Canadian TV series Todd & The Book Of Pure Evil backed by an Indiegogo campaign and will distribute in Canada.

Aircraft Pictures, Corvid Pictures and Frantic Films are behind the project about a group of friends who must deal with personal problems and an apocalyptic tome.

Craig David Wallace directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Charles Picco.

The film is currently in production with all the original voice cast including Alex House, Maggie Castle, Bill Turnbull, Melanie Leishman, Chris Leavins and Jason Mewes.

Andrew Rosen of Aircraft Pictures and Sarah Timmins of Corvid Pictures will produce with Smiley Guy Studios.

Executive producers include Raven Banner, Jamie Brown of Frantic Films, Anthony Leo of Aircraft Pictures and Wallace through Corvid Pictures.

Synopsis:

FEARnet announced that it has picked up the second season of “Todd & The Book of Pure Evil,” featuring Jason Mewes (“Mallrats,” “Clerks”).

The season will begin airing on the cable channel in March as part of FEARnet’s “Twisted Comedy” block (as it did in season 1), along with FEARnet’s first original production, “Holliston,” starring directors Adam Green and Joe Lynch.

Here at CinemaSpy we are not messing with the titular tome in the irreverent Canadian horror comedy Todd & The Book of Pure Evil. Clearly it can wield some powerful magic.

The witty, surreal and sometimes shocking show was a hit on the Canadian channel Space when the first season aired last year. The summer is ablaze with FearNet's American rebroadcast of "Todd and the Book of Pure Evil." Slated for Aug 2nd, at 10pm (Est). This specialty station will be picking up where the Comedy Network left off with their scheduling. The Comedy Network's broadcast began June 5th, with two back-to-back episodes.
