The 5 Best Easter Eggs And References In Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3, Episode 3
Image
In the third episode of the third season of "Star Trek: Lower Decks," called "Mining the Mind's Mines," the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos has been tasked with rescuing a team of geologists from a planet populated by silicon-based life forms called the Scrubble. Commander Ransom (Jerry O'Connell) bemoans the fact that Federation scientists often play fast-and-loose with safety, and it's always Starfleet who has to come clean up their research missions when they go afoul.

On the Scrubble planet, mysterious glowing crystal orbs read a victim's thoughts, briefly manifest their deepest desires in the real world, and then turn their victims into statues. Throughout the episode, characters will have to come up with quick, embarrassed excuses when some of their deepest desires appear in front of their peers. Ensign Mariner (Tawney Newsome), for instance, can't help but reveal that she's developed feelings for her Andorian co-worker Jennifer.

NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell Earns $16.5 Million in 2020, Comcast Chief Brian Roberts Rakes in $32.7 Million
Image
NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell took in $16.5 million in total compensation, while his boss, Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian Roberts raked in a staggering $32.7 million.

The generous pay packages come despite the fact that much of NBCUniversal’s business of making and distributing movies and turning those properties into theme park rides was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. It also resulted in thousands of layoffs.

Shell, who took over as chief of the media division in 2019 from Steve Burke, did not previously disclose his salary because he was not yet a named executive officer. Roberts did take a modest cut in his pay package. The Comcast chieftain made $36.4 million in 2019 and $35.0 million in 2018. His 2020 figure did top the $32.5 million he took in during the 2017 fiscal year.

Shell’s package consisted of $2.6 million in salary, as well as $3.7 million in stock awards, $3.7 million in option awards and $5.88 million in non-equity incentives. It...

"I'm not dead. I just need to get up."

You are about to watch one hell of an entertaining short film. It's called "!!Renegade!!," and it was directed by Michael Cavanaugh. The story follows a character named Renegade as he battles the evil Dr. Monocle to save his love, Gwenyvier. The short grabbed me from the very beginning, and then shook me around wildlyas I continued to watch. It is an extremely fun ride packed full of action, adventure, romance, comedy, and some great one-liners. It's the best three minutes you will spend today. Here's the synopsis:

Renegade is an homage to the 1940's American pulp magazines, like Thrilling Wonder Stories, Terror Tales and Thrilling Mysterys. These magazines featured cover art by artist like Rudolph Belarski, Tom Blame and Earle Bergey who often drew thinly clothed heroes and heroines fighting off mad scientist, druids, henchmen and goblins. Renegade is Pulp comic fun,...
