Over seven months ago, Season 12 of Father Brown premiered on BritBox in the US with little to no details about the show’s future. Luckily for eager fans, that’s about to change as we’ve learned something exciting about the period drama’s next run. You may recall that the show was renewed for both Seasons 12 and 13 back in April 2024; however, it wasn't until a year later that filming began on the thirteenth series, but sadly, still with no arrival date.
In the meantime, as fans anticipate a date, it has been confirmed that Father Brown Season 13 has just finished filming in the Cotswolds. To mark the wonderful news, the BBC has announced the special guest stars to appear in the upcoming season, some of whom have already been featured in past installments. As for the plot, it has been teased that the title character is drawn into a...

There's nothing better than a good romcom. It's a genre that took root pretty much as soon as movies could talk, and, for all its accused repetitiveness, has been going strong ever since, always finding fresh new ways to assert its worth.
In the past century of film history, we've seen great romantic comedies ranging from the sweet to the wild to the darkly hilarious to the slyly subversive; the only thing that hasn't changed is the enduring appeal of watching charismatic stars flirt, trade barbs, field misunderstandings, and ultimately fall — or not — into each other's arms.
To create this ranking of the best romantic comedies ever, we've looked over the genre's entire chronology, and carefully plucked classics from all eras. Every single one of these films is essential viewing, to be clear; there's no going wrong here if you're looking for recs.

Season 12 could be the end for two of Father Brown‘s beloved characters. Claudie Blakley, who plays Mrs. Isabel Devine on the British television series, hinted that she and Tom Chambers, who plays Chief Inspector Edgar Sullivan, could be exiting. The characters got engaged at the end of Season 11 and are in the throes of wedding planning amid Season 12. “Lady Felicia (Nancy Carroll) is helping out with the wedding planning, but she gets carried away with the flowers and hair, and Mrs. Devine lets her take over a bit, so the day is at risk of not turning out how Mrs. Devine wanted her day to be,” Blakley told The Mirror. An issue with Sullivan’s father could also take a toll on the couple, as Blakley teased, “Sullivan’s father also says that he won’t give the wedding his blessing unless they both move to London, which shocks Mrs.

Why do we find murder mysteries so uniquely relaxing? This is one of the age-old questions about human nature, up there with ‘what is consciousness?’ and ‘why do we keep eating mouldy cheese and fish eggs like it’s a good thing?’ Because, despite the grief and blood and mountains of paperwork that a gruesome murder causes, we simply can’t get enough of curling up on the sofa with a mug of tea and a cosy crime drama to keep us blissfully entertained all the way through to bedtime.
This isn’t a new thing, either: while modern series like Death in Paradise and Shakespeare and Hathaway are the current champions of cosy crime TV, back in the eighties and nineties classics like Murder She Wrote and Hetty Wainthropp Investigates taught us how it’s done. So whether you’re after the latest in the cosy crime genre or some more nostalgic viewing,...

If someone told you, "Your mom should have killed you when you came out of the womb" -- would you consider those "fighting words?" Ex-NBA star Tom Chambers certainly did -- admitting he got physical with a trash-talking 22-year-old at an Arizona bar ... and now he's been charged with assault. It all stems from an April 15 incident at Isabella's Kitchen in Scottsdale -- where Tom says he was innocently hanging out when another patron started insulting him.

Hallowe'en is out of the way now, so it's time to get a bit festive. What better way than crooning along to White Christmas, ready to settle in at the Dominion, starring Aled Jones a voice inextricably linked with this season here in Britain and Tom Chambers It toured the UK last year to a mighty set of impressive reviews, and now it takes the place of Evita - now finishing its limited engagement - at the Tottenham Court Road venue.

After all the excitement about the Strictly Come Dancing launch last weekend, we've now got to wait a couple of weeks to discover who can dance and who can... waddle around a floor, badly (We're looking at you, Gregg Wallace).
In the meantime, we've had the ultimate Strictly pub debate - yes, we talk about Strictly in the pub - who is the greatest champion of all time. Here is the Definitive* ranking of the 11 Glitterball Champions from Worst to the Best.
*Actually just our opinion.
11. Chris Hollins
You can't win Strictly Come Dancing and be a bad dancer. However, Chris Hollins would have struggled to reach the final in any other series and it was only really his partnership with Ola 'Chops' Jordan and the dull competition that allowed him to stroll (or should that be Charleston?) to victory.
10. Tom Chambers
Were Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup the best dancers in 2008? Probably not.

Former Holby City star Tom Chambers has claimed that he was turned down for a part in Downton Abbey because he wasn't posh enough.
The actor, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, revealed he auditioned to be Lady Mary Crawley's (Michelle Dockery) love interest but was turned down.
Speaking to What's On TV, he said: I was told I didn't have enough blue blood in me to join the series. It was disappointing but you have to be thick-skinned when things don't come your way."
Chambers, who is now starring in BBC drama Father Brown, said: "If I had got the job, I wouldn't have been able to do this, so it wasn't so bad in the end. I'm delighted to be joining such an exciting series."
Downton Abbey's fourth series begins on ITV in the autumn. It will air in the Us on PBS in the New Year.

It's time to 'put on your top hat and brush off your tails' 77 years after Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers lit up Hollywood's silver screen with one of the greatest dance musicals of all time, Rko Pictures' Top Hat is now on in London's West End! Judging by the sensational reviews, standing ovations and sold out theatres around the country on its pre-London tour, it has been well worth the wait. Tom Chambers (Holby City heartthrob and Strictly Come Dancing winner) plays the irrepressible Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society model Dale Tremont, played by triple Olivier Award nominee Summer Strallen (Love Never Dies, The Sound of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone). Rachel Stevens has said that she could "definitely" replace Alesha Dixon on the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel. When those of us who have grown up watching modern cinema view pre-Production Code movies, it can be easy for us to ask, “What’s the big deal?” By today’s standards, much of what was considered “morally questionable” enough to spur the introduction of the Code in the 1920s would be considered laughably tame. Every now and then, however, one has the opportunity to watch a pre-Code film that causes one to understand (with a nod to differing historical norms, of course) how certain movies could indeed generate such uproar. Ernst Lubitsch’s Design for Living (based on Noel Coward’s play of the same name) is just such a film. Hit the jump for our review of the Criterion Blu-ray for Design for Living. It is not that Design for Living is filled with nudity; there is none. Or foul language; nary a dirty word is to be...

They tell you that you have to keep smiling the whole time when everyone's talking to Tess [Daly] after they've performed.
