The Women's Cancer Research Fund (Wcrf), supporting the advancement of the world’s most promising breast cancer research, announced today that actress and activist Olivia Munn will receive the “Courage Award” at the organization’s flagship “An Unforgettable Evening” gala, taking place on Monday, April 28, at the Beverly Hilton, while three-time Grammy winners Little Big Town will perform.

Munn will be honored for selflessly sharing her ongoing breast cancer journey and, in doing so, inspiring countless women to take their health into their own hands and get screened for breast cancer. Actress Charlotte Kirk is the unnamed woman whose affair with Ron Meyer eight years ago led to his abrupt resignation as NBCUniversal vice chariman on Tuesday, multiple individuals with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.

Meyer had reached a financial settlement with Kirk for an undisclosed an amount, but an insider told TheWrap that a third party was trying to extort Meyer and force him to disclose the settlement to NBCUniversal. Meyer and NBCUniversal declined to comment, while a representative for Kirk did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Kirk is the same actress whose later affair with Kevin Tsujihara between 2013 and 2014 led to his own ouster as Warner Bros. CEO last year after word of the relationship and Tsujihara’s subsequent efforts to advance Kirk’s acting career surfaced in the press.

Now in its 19th year, Key To The Cure is Saks Fifth Avenue’s annual fundraising and charitable initiative to fight cancer. This year, Women’s Cancer Research Ambassador Jennifer Lopez will act as the face of the campaign, and Missoni will design the exclusive, limited edition t-shirt.

Screen Australia has announced an investment of $15m on 13 productions, including a German/Australian co-production directed by Cate Shortland and development for Bruce Beresford, Sarah Watt and Phillip Noyce projects.

In terms of films, Fred Schepisi’s The Eye of the Storm - which began production without financial support from Screen Australia – is one of the beneficiaries.

Shortland’s co-production Lore will be produced by Liz Watts, Karsten Stöter, Benny Drechsel, Paul Welsh and Gabriele Kranzelbinder and set in 1945 Germany.

The third feature to receive support is Kieran Darcy-Smith’s debut Say Nothing, written in conjuction with Felicity Price and produced by Angie Felder.
