It was an epic battle between Matthew Schuler & Will Champlin during the final night of knockout rounds Oct. 29, but they weren’t the only ones fighting to stay on stage!

As The Voice‘s remaining 16 artists put it all on the line, the coaches continued to cut down their teams, eventually left with the final five they’ll take to the live rounds. Read on to see who will be facing off next week!

Team Adam: Lina Gaudenzi vs. Preston Pohl

With this match-up, Adam Levine was looking for the most unique artist. I could kick off this recap of The Voice‘s final set of Knockout Rounds complaining about Carson Daly’s “coming up on…” teases — and how they snuff out suspense like a fire hose pointed at a toddler’s birthday candles. But no — this time around I’m gonna focus on the positives:

* We were treated to four or five performances during the two-hour telecast that were promising enough to signal a potential Season 5 champ.

* While at least one terrific prospect walked the guillotine, the two remaining Steals were used in ways that did not leave me blind with rage.

Welcome back, "Voice" fans! It's Night 2 of the Knockout Rounds, with coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Blake Shelton continuing to chop their teams in half to determine the Top 20 artists who will move onto Season 5's live shows, beginning next week. Lina chooses the Etta James track because she wants to show off the more soulful side to her voice, but she seems to struggle with the finding the intensity the song demands. Adam tells her she's dancing around the song, rather than just singing it. During her performance, she certainly has the audience on her side. She may rely on her vibrato a bit too much, but it's still a high-energy performance that finds her improving on Adam's notes.

The Voice's battle rounds wrapped up Tuesday night with a trio of commanding performances that show the competition is still any singer's game.

The evening kicked off on a patriotic note when coach Cee Lo Green paired military veterans Jonny Gray of Austin, Texas, and Shawn Smith of Utica, N.Y., on "Refugee" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It was the final night of battle rounds Oct. 22, and with only six spots — and one steal! — left, the coaches were forced to make some tough decisions.

As the coaches narrowed down the last of their team members, Olivia Henken and Stephanie Anne Johnson prompted Cee Lo Green to use his final steal. But wait, now that steals have been added to the knock-out rounds, every coach had the chance to steel again! “It’s one more chance to make the best team possible for the live rounds,” said Christina Aguilera. Indeed, of the 24 Season 5 Battle Rounds — six per coach — none of Christina Aguilera’s matchups received the dreaded “montage” treatment, compared to one for Adam Levine, two for Cee Lo Green and a whopping three (or 50% of his contestants) for poor Blake!

Just like that, "Voice" fans, another round in Season 5 comes to an end with Night 4 of the Battle Rounds on Tuesday (Oct. 22). It's time for coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and CeeLo Green to finish chopping their teams in half before the show can head into its Knockout Rounds (aka The Battle Rounds, Redux). On NBC’s The Voice, the battle rounds continue tonight and the competition is going to be fierce. This season has seen not only the return of Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green, but also an influx of mega talented singers from a variety of genres. Country music may have dominated last season’s competition, not so much this go-around. With only eight spots left to fill on all four teams, the final night of ‘The Voice’ blind auditions proved to be the most intense yet.

The Voice coaches were extra picky Oct. 7 as the blind auditions came to a close. All four were looking for something special to round out their 12-member teams, and everyone — especially Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton – were willing to fight for the singers they wanted.
