Michelle Trachtenberg, the iconic ’90s Nickelodeon star of the TV series “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” and the movie “Harriet the Spy,” has died at age 39 according to multiple reports. Representatives for Trachtenberg confirmed to IndieWire via email: “It is with great sadness to confirm that Michelle Trachtenberg has passed away. The family requests privacy for their loss. There are no further details at this time.”
Page Six first reported the news that Trachtenberg, who also appeared in the series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and The CW’s original “Gossip Girl,” was found dead New York City. Her death is not being investigated as suspicious, according to the outlet, but no cause of death has yet been shared. Variety and Deadline also reported on the news.

Late-night horror series The Classic Ghosts has rarely been seen since airing on ABC’s Wide World of Mystery in 1973, but that’s about to change.
The UCLA Film & Television Archive has preserved all five installments, coming to Blu-ray on October 29 via Kino Lorber’s Kino Cult line. Watch the exclusive trailer below.
Produced by broadcast pioneer Jacqueline Babbin, The Classic Ghosts was celebrated upon its debut for being made by a predominantly female crew, including trailblazing television directors Gloria Monty (General Hospital) and Lela Swift (Studio One).
Shot on videotape in the style of a soap opera, with expressive and colorful production design, The Classic Ghosts has an immediacy and otherworldliness akin to Dark Shadows — not surprising since two of the directors (Swift and Henry Kaplan) directed hundreds of episodes of the classic horror TV series.

Six Feet Under probably doesn’t come to most people’s minds when discussing HBO’s best series because it doesn’t have a controversial, overarching subject matter.
The Sopranos remains appealing to new viewers mainly due to its mafia backdrop. The Wire catches eyes because cop dramas are a known quantity. With Six Feet Under, however, creator Alan Ball (who also helmed HBO’s queer-coded horror spectacle True Blood) crafted a simple drama about a loving yet chaotic family who runs a funeral home. That doesn’t seem all that exciting to an audience member going in with no prior knowledge. Still, all it should take is a few episodes of the show for that viewer to become instantly obsessed with the raw, authentic characters and real life issues that it expertly depicts.
From death anxiety to coping with chronic illness, the series forces the people on screen and...

Marla Adams, the Emmy-winning soap opera veteran who starred as the scheming Dina Abbott Mergeron during parts of five decades on The Young and the Restless, has died. She was 85.
Adams died Thursday in Los Angeles, Matt Kane, director of media and talent for Y&r, announced.
When she was just starting out, Adams appeared in 1958 alongside Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne on Broadway in The Visit and portrayed June, the high school best friend of Natalie Wood’s Deanie, in Elia Kazan’s Splendor in the Grass (1961).
Her first prominent role on a daytime drama came on CBS’ The Secret Storm, where she played bad girl Belle Clemens from 1968 until the show’s 1974 demise. “I was the bitch of daytime,” she said in a 2016 interview. “I played a good bitch.”

The Fisher family in Six Feet Under grows and becomes closer throughout the series, with marriages, divorces, and deaths adding to the drama. Each member of the family has their own unique storyline and character development, from Nate's struggles with his father's death to David's transformation and relationship with Keith. The show's finale, with its flash-forward showing the deaths of each main character, is considered one of the greatest finales in television history.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Six Feet Under.Considering that throughout all seasons of Six Feet Under the Fisher family keeps getting bigger by adding blood and political relatives, it is not a bad idea to go over its family tree. The Fishers are the center of one of the greatest TV Shows of all time. At the beginning of the series, they are a rather small and disconnected family. However, the beauty of the show...

Game of Thrones, despite its tremendous success, faced heavy criticism for its finale, with fans and even author George R. R. Martin expressing disappointment. George R. R. Martin revealed that his favorite TV series finale is from Six Feet Under, praising it as the best in television history. Despite rumors of a possible revival, HBO confirmed that there are no plans for reviving Six Feet Under and True Blood, while focusing on other franchises.
Game of Thrones may be one of the most successful television series of all time, but its finale was heavily criticized by fans and by the author of the books, George R. R. Martin, who has recently chosen his favorite series finale, and it is not the one presented by HBO for his story.

Lets face it, as television viewers we grow attached to the gay characters that resonate with us on the small screen, and with the actors that bring life to these roles. We also find ourselves growing fond of out-and-proud actors that have opted to play it straight thats why its called acting, people and vice versa.
So when their shows are cancelled or taken off the air before they wear out their welcome (whatever, I still miss Sex and the City on Sunday nights, ok?), it can be a little bit difficult to see them slide into other TV roles easier than Lindsay Lohan checking into another rehab (Im rootin for you, girl).
Alas, sometimes that isnt always the case, which might have you asking yourself, Where are they now? In some cases for these actors, it could be taken as a query of, Where did they disappear to?
But for curiosity's (and manner's) sake,...

We asked you which gay or bisexual TV characters you think are the best, and you told us – with tens of thousands of votes cast.
Now we have the results.
But first, a few interesting statistics.
We have quite a few familiar faces – characters who made our last poll of the best gay and bisexual characters two and a half years ago – and a few missing ones, namely Vince D’Angelo (from Will & Grace), George Huang (from Law & Order: Svu), and Waylon Smithers (from The Simpsons), all of whom didn’t even make the top 50 this time around.
Meanwhile, we also have many new faces – from shows that have debuted since our last poll.
Every single character except two comes from a show that ran in the 00s (although some shows, like Will & Grace, did debut in the late 90s). The exceptions? Jodie Dallas, played by Billy Crystal, on Soap...

Television matters. Who and what we see on our screens each week tells us a great deal about who and what is relevant in society, who has power, and who doesn’t. That’s why AfterElton.com pays such close attention to the shows that have gay characters and gay storylines, analyzing what each new character and plot twist says about the acceptance of gay and bisexual men in today’s world.
Television programming as we know it today came into existence approximately seventy years ago. However, it took thirty-five years for the first semi-regularly recurring gay character to appear, on The Corner Bar, an 1972 ABC show that lasted for fifteen episodes and featured Vincent Schiavelli as Peter Panama. Over the next several years, gay characters popped up on other short-lived shows including Hot L Baltimore and The Nancy Walker Show, but it wasn’t until 1977 and Soap that gay...
