Selena Gomez Set For Disney Channel’s ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’ Reunion Special
Selena Gomez will executive-produce and star in the one-hour special set to premiere in early 2013. She’ll join Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin who’ll reprise their original roles. The storyline takes the Russo family and friends to Tuscany, Italy, to meet their long lost relatives but when Alex (Gomez) tries to prove she’s more than a seemingly carefree young Wizard, she inadvertently conjures a spell that creates a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. When Evil Alex gets roped into a foreboding plan to take over the world, Good Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind, which leads to a monumental battle between the two versions of herself – all atop the Tower of Pisa. "The Help" Cleans Up at NAACP Image Awards! See Complete List of Winners, Nominees in All Categories!
As expected, Tate Taylor's "The Help" won big at the 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards. The film won Outstanding Picture of the Year with Viola Davis winning Outstanding Actress and Octavia Spencer taking home the Outstanding Supporting Actress award. Taylor lost to "Jumping the Broom's" Salim Akil for Best Director because apparently, it's a better picture than "The Help!"

Selena Gomez Confirms Her Last Season on 'Wizards of Waverly Place'
Selena Gomez has confirmed that she would be in her final year filming "Wizards of Waverly Place". In an interview with MTV, the star of "Ramona and Beezus" revealed how heartbreaking it is to do the Disney series for the last time but how exciting it is to continue with other projects.

"Unfortunately, I'm doing my last season of my show, which I'm really heartbroken about," Gomez confirmed. "That's gonna be a terrible time for me. I'm gonna do a movie for my show, which I'll be excited to end it with, and then a tour."

In June, Disney Channel said that "Wizards" has been renewed for a fourth season and that production is to start in August with Vince Cheung and Ben Montanio as the new showrunners. There will also be the second TV movie which script will be written by Dan Berendsen.

Disney Orders 4th Season Of "Wizards Of Waverly Place" And Film Sequel
Disney Channel's Emmy Award-winning original series "Wizards of Waverly Place" is moving on with a fourth season and a sequel to their 2009 TV film. The network has announced that the production on the next season will kick off in August.

The filming for the fourth season of the fantasy series - starring Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise - gets underway in August, with show runners Vince Cheung and Ben Montanio exec producing.

They will also be having a sequel to the made-for-tv film "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie." The script will be written by Dan Berendsen, who also wrote the script for the first film, as well as for "Hannah Montana: The Movie" and the upcoming "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam."

Selena Gomez Signs Up for New Season of 'Wizards' and Second Movie
Selena Gomez will continue to fill in the shoes of Alex Russo on "Wizards of Waverly Place". On Thursday, June 3, President of Entertainment and Chief Creative Officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, Gary Marsh, announced that the network has ordered a fourth season of her sitcom, and is developing a sequel to "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie".

The 17-year-old beauty, who is currently busy filming for "Monte Carlo", will be once again joined by the original cast ensemble that include David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals Barrera and David DeLuise. In the new season, she will also share screen with Gregg Sulkin who will reprises his recurring guest role as Mason Greyback.

Production on the fourth season of "Wizards of Waverly Place" is scheduled to begin in August. Show runners Vince Cheung and Ben Montanio will be serving as executive producers along with series creator Todd J. Greenwald.

Disney extends 'Wizards' season
Disney Channel has extended the third season of hit "Wizards of Waverly Place" with a pickup of eight additional episodes.

That brings the total order for the comedy starring Selena Gomez to 86 episodes, as well as a highly rated original movie, which premiered in August.

"The appeal of 'Wizards' is simple: It's our extraordinary cast," said Gary Marsh, president entertainment for Disney Channels Worldwide. "This is undoubtedly one of the strongest comedic ensembles on television."

Created by Todd J. Greenwald and executive-produced by Peter Murrieta, Greenwald, Vince Cheung and Ben Montanio, "Wizards" stars Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise.

The series recently won the Emmy Award for outstanding children's program.

"Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie" ranks as cable TV's No. 2 scripted telecast of all time, drawing 13.5 million viewers in August.

Disney Channel picks up additional episodes for the second season of its comedy Wizards of Waverly Place. Currently in production in Hollywood, Wizards of Waverly Place was created by Todd Greenwald (Hannah Montana) and executive produced by Peter Murrieta (Greetings from Tucson, Hope & Faith), Greenwald, Vince Cheung and Ben Montanio (both 0f Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior) for It's a Laugh Productions, Inc.
