Presumably breaking a world-record for the biggest can of worms that’s ever been opened, Rage Against The Machine’s Tim Commerford apologised for his band’s part in creating Limp Bizkit. But though Commerford took it upon himself to single out Fred Durst and co for their crimes against music, he could really have chosen any number of nu-metallers to say sorry for influencing.

The biggest exception to that rule is Deftones. The Sacramento five-piece were dismissed as “Korn-lite” in their early days, but since then they have shown not only remarkable staying power, but expanded and improved their sound, becoming critically-acclaimed in the process.

The 3rd of October 2015 celebrates the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Adrenaline. While it is rightly considered a classic of both genre and artist, Deftones are by far a better band now than they were 20 years ago, both in the live arena and on record.

Joey Covington: Jefferson Airplane Drummer Killed In Car Accident
So sad. The percussionist of the iconic 60s band Jefferson Airplane was killed on June 4 in a deadly car crash in Palm Springs, Calif. Joey was 67 years old.

Joey Covington, the longtime drummer of Jefferson Airplane, died tragically on June 4 in California when his car went off the road and collided head-on into a retaining wall.

The 67-year-old drummer was not wearing a seatbelt during his accident and no other cars were involved, the Desert Sun reports. The vehicle reportedly hit a wall with such force that it went flying into an elevated driveway several feet above the crash site.

A guest of a nearby hotel tried to resuscitate the musician but was unsuccessful — Joey died at the scene of the crash.

George Jones Dead At 81
How sad. Country singing legend George died at 81 years old on April 26. He is survived by four children and his wife of 30 years, Nancy.

George Jones died at 81 years old in Nashville on April 26. The singer, who once nearly died in a car wreck in 1999, was hospitalized in Nashville on April 18 for a fever and irregular blood pressure, though his cause of death is not yet certain. So sad.

George died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

George, who was famous for his sad vocals and wonderful songs, was in the middle of a tour when he fell ill, reports TMZ. He had already cancelled several dates, and had many more planned before his rather untimely death. He was planning to retire after this tour.

George is survived by his fourth wife of 30 years, Nancy Sepulvado, who is credited with saving him from cocaine and alcohol.
