Jennifer Tilly is jumping from one supernatural series to another. Ten months after Chucky was canceled, the actor has joined the Season 3 cast of School Spirits.

Per Deadline, Tilly is among the new cast additions for School Spirits' upcoming third season, which was ordered back in March. She will recur as a character named Dr. Deborah Hunter-Price.Ari Dalbert (Friendship) and Erika Swayze (Davey & Jonesie’s Locker) have also been tapped for recurring roles in School Spirits Season 3, with the former set to play Kyle and the latter Livia. Additionally, Ci Hang Ma and Miles Elliot have both been upgraded from recurring to series regular for the third season. Previous, July 11: Milo Manheim and Raúl Esparza have joined the cast of next month’s Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar starring the previously announced Cynthia Erivo and Adam Lambert.

Manheim will play the role of Peter and Esparza will play Pontius Pilate. Erivo is playing Jesus and Lambert is Judas. Additional casting will be announced. Sergio Trujillo directs.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical will be performed on Friday, August 1, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, August 2, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, August 3, at 7:30 p.m.

Schools Spirits is making waves on Paramount+. A day after its Season 2 finale was released, the supernatural drama series managed to land in the streamer's Top 10 TV Shows list.

According to FlixPatrol, School Spirits is currently ranked No. 5 on Paramount+'s Top 10 TV Shows list for Mar. 7. However, the series is currently at No. 1 on the Top 10 Overall for Amazon Channels, a massive +8 jump from the previous day and perhaps a far more impressive feat. In the last episodes of “School Spirits” Season 2, Janet (Jess Gabor), who was finally free of high school purgatory after hijacking Maddie (Peyton List)’s body, agreed to return to the school to swap places with Maddie, who’s been stuck in limbo ever since.

“Janet starts to finally empathize with Maddie by seeing her through her friends,” Gabor told TheWrap of how the conversation Simon (Kristian Flores) has with her changes her mind.

“When she’s in the cabin with all of Maddie’s friends, who clearly love Maddie enough to kidnap her, Janet doesn’t know what that’s like to have friends that have your back or what it’s like to trust somebody again,” said Gabor.

There’s a lot going on as Paramount+’s School Spirits season two episode six kicks off. Maddie (Peyton List) is freaking out because it’s taking too long for her living BFFs to return from dinner with Janet. Mr. Anderson’s handling Mr. Martin taking over his body by hitting golf balls in the library. Apparently, he’s totally fine with it. And this also just happens to be the night of Wally’s class of 1984 reunion.

The first three episodes of Season 2, which launched on January 30, amassed 1.7M viewers in the first seven days of availability, according to internal data from Paramount Global.

That marks a 104% increase over the seven-day audience for the first three episodes of Season 1, the company says.

Third party data about the series’ performance is hard to come by, since it hasn’t appeared in Nielsen’s streaming Top 10. However, a triple-digit audience increase in the first week is a pretty significant boost.

Paramount also points to owned, domestic social post performance as an indicator of the show’s growing audience, as any posts regarding School Spirits published in the first seven days after the Season 2 debut have seen eight times the total engagement of Season 1 posts in that time frame.

Paramount+ has renewed its teen drama “School Spirits” for a second season.

The series stars Peyton List as Maddie Nears, a teen girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her own mysterious disappearance. Maddie goes on a crime-solving journey as she adjusts to high school purgatory, but the closer she gets to discovering the truth, the more secrets and lies she uncovers.

The cast also includes Kristian Ventura as Simon Elroy, Milo Manheim as Wally Clark, Spencer MacPherson as Xavier Baxter, Kiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera, Sarah Yarkin as Rhonda, Nick Pugliese as Charley and Rainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer.

The new Paramount+ original series School Spirits is currently available to watch exclusively on the streaming platform. From co-creators Nate and Megan Trinrud comes a paranormal murder mystery that follows a group of teenage ghosts. At the center of it all is Maddie Nears, the latest addition to the school's afterlife club. But, unlike the rest of the spirits she encounters, Maddie has no memory of the events leading up to her death.

Milo Manheim plays Wally Clark, a former student from the 1980s who has been trapped on the other side for decades. Manheim is most notably known for his role as Zed in Z-o-m-b-i-e-s, with his upcoming film Prom Pact slated to release later this month. The main cast also includes Peyton List (Cobra Kai), Kristian Flores, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Rainbow Wedell, Sarah Yarkin, and Nick Pugliese.

Since she was murdered at her high school, Maddie’s stuck spending every minute of the afterlife roaming Split River High’s halls. Talk about being trapped in hell! Paramount+’s School Spirits follows Maddie as she attempts to solve her own murder while learning to exist (not live) with other ghosts doomed to high school purgatory.

Episode one, “My So-Called Death,” finds Maddie watching from the bleachers as the school’s assembled to discuss her disappearance. It’s obvious Maddie wasn’t the most popular student – self-involved cheerleaders can’t even remember her name – but at least her two BFFs and boyfriend are upset that she’s gone.

The trailer introduces us to Maddie, a teenager who finds herself dead, and her spirit is stuck at school.

Maddie has no idea how she died, but she can see the reactions from the other students in the school as she tries to comprehend how she got stuck there.

The minute she tries to step foot off the school grounds, she's taken back to the crime scene.

A murdered teen haunts the hallways of her high school seeking answers about who killed her and why in Paramount+’s School Spirits. The full trailer shows Madison (Peyton List) meeting fellow ghosts who are stuck spending eternity in high school and joining their bizarre but necessary little support group.

The trailer arrived one month out from the young adult drama’s March 9, 2023 premiere. The eight-episode season will kick off with the release of the first three episodes, followed by new episodes streaming on Thursdays.

Paramount+ is trying to bring in younger viewers. 

The streaming service today announced its new young adult drama series, School Spirits, will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, March 9, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.

The series will premiere the following day in Australia, and the U.K. Premiere dates for other Paramount+ international markets will be announced at a later date.

Following the premiere, new episodes of the eight-episode-long season will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays for subscribers in the U.S. and Canada and on Fridays for subscribers in Australia and the U.K.

The announcement dropped during the series' panel at Paramount+'s Television Critics Association presentation, where a first-look teaser trailer was also revealed.

The streamer has set a March 9 release date for School Spirits, as announced today during its Television Critics Association presentation. Two episodes will drop on premiere day, with the remaining eight streaming weekly on Thursdays for U.S./Canadian subscribers.
