School Spirits will be coming back for a third season in 2026, and we couldn't be more thrilled. The hit teen drama series was renewed just a couple of weeks after the season 2 finale dropped, which was sooner than expected. It took two months from the season 1 finale's release for the show to be renewed for a second season, so we were expecting a similar wait this time around. However, the fast renewal for season 3 means we’ll soon be back in the world of School Spirits, ready to see what’s next for Maddie and her living and ghostly friends.
After that jaw-dropping season 2 finale, which we're still trying to process, we’re eager to see how the story will continue to unfold in the third installment. While Maddie's journey ended on a somewhat positive note, we still have a lot of unanswered questions about her friends and the mysterious happenings at Split River High.

Paramount+ won’t leave School Spirits fans hanging. Season two ended with Maddie back among her living friends. But unfortunately for Simon, he somehow got stuck in Mr. Martin’s scar with the deceased chemistry teacher and Janet.
Season three will also confirm if Wally stepped through his exit door. It’s the right choice to bring back the strange group of ghosts and living best friends because there is still so much to tell.
“We are so thrilled to bring School Spirits back to our devoted audiences for another season of masterful storytelling brought to life by Peyton List and the incredible cast,” stated Shauna Phelan, Head of Live Action Scripted Series and Film for Awesomeness and Nickelodeon. “Co-showrunners Oliver Goldstick, Nate Trinrud, and Megan Trinrud have an exceptional ability to capture the complexity and nuance of the teen experience, while also keeping audiences on their toes with the unexpected mystery,...

The fate of School Spirits on Paramount+ has been revealed following the second season drawing even higher acclaim than Season 1. Fortunately for fans of the series, it's excellent news.
Paramount+ has just announced that School Spirits has been renewed for Season 3. Looking at the success of the series, it's not a major shocker to see the show get its renewal order. Season 2 premiered to an average of 3.9 million viewers in its first 28 days since launch, which marks a 94% increase in viewership compared to the series premiere in 2023. What was even better for School Spirits was the second season concluding with a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, a rise from the 83% score earned by Season 1.

All eight episodes of School Spirits season 2 are now available on Paramount+, and we’re still in shock over how everything unfolded in the explosive season finale. While some moments were predictable, others completely caught us off guard. We're still processing it all, but one thing is clear: a School Spirits season 3 is a must!
Unfortunately, a third season has yet to be confirmed. However, we're hopeful that strong viewership and a positive reception will work in the show's favor. They simply can't leave us hanging like this! While the season 2 finale offered some answers and tied up the main storyline, several mysteries remain unsolved. With a jaw-dropping cliffhanger and unfinished character arcs, it's clear that there's still more story left to tell. And we have questions that need to be answered. I'm sure you're just as eager as we are to find out what happens next and have...

Schools Spirits is making waves on Paramount+. A day after its Season 2 finale was released, the supernatural drama series managed to land in the streamer's Top 10 TV Shows list.
According to FlixPatrol, School Spirits is currently ranked No. 5 on Paramount+'s Top 10 TV Shows list for Mar. 7. However, the series is currently at No. 1 on the Top 10 Overall for Amazon Channels, a massive +8 jump from the previous day and perhaps a far more impressive feat. Created by Megan and Nate Trinrud, School Spirits first premiered on Paramount+ in March 2023, while the second season launched this past January. Despite the almost two-year gap between seasons, the supernatural show was seemingly worth the wait, given that it has managed to remain in Paramount+'s Top 10 ranking throughout the release of its second season.

In the last episodes of “School Spirits” Season 2, Janet (Jess Gabor), who was finally free of high school purgatory after hijacking Maddie (Peyton List)’s body, agreed to return to the school to swap places with Maddie, who’s been stuck in limbo ever since.
“Janet starts to finally empathize with Maddie by seeing her through her friends,” Gabor told TheWrap of how the conversation Simon (Kristian Flores) has with her changes her mind.

“When she’s in the cabin with all of Maddie’s friends, who clearly love Maddie enough to kidnap her, Janet doesn’t know what that’s like to have friends that have your back or what it’s like to trust somebody again,” said Gabor.

There’s a lot going on as Paramount+’s School Spirits season two episode six kicks off. Maddie (Peyton List) is freaking out because it’s taking too long for her living BFFs to return from dinner with Janet. Mr. Anderson’s handling Mr. Martin taking over his body by hitting golf balls in the library. Apparently, he’s totally fine with it. And this also just happens to be the night of Wally’s class of 1984 reunion.
(Reminder – this is a recap, so there are spoilers ahead!)
Episode five ended with Janet being kidnapped by a masked figure while dumping the trash. We catch up with her in the trunk of a car, wrists bound, and mouth taped shut. Meanwhile, when morning arrives, Sandra stops by Mr. Anderson’s, frantic that Maddie’s missing again.

School Spirits will conclude its second season on Paramount+ in March, leaving just a few episodes left to go as the story continues to build up towards the finale. While the wait for episode 206 will be just a little longer, Cbr can exclusively unveil a sneak peek clip.
In the clip, Maddie (Peyton List) and the others begin to grow weary over the absence of Janet Hamilton (Jess Gabor). The tension is broken when visitors in "murder vans" arrive at the school, but this doesn't bring the answers that the group is expecting. Fans will have to check out the episode in full to see what happens when it starts streaming on Paramount+ on Feb. 20. For now, the new clip can be viewed below.

School Spirits is becoming quite buzzy on Paramount+.
The first three episodes of Season 2, which launched on January 30, amassed 1.7M viewers in the first seven days of availability, according to internal data from Paramount Global.
That marks a 104% increase over the seven-day audience for the first three episodes of Season 1, the company says.
Third party data about the series’ performance is hard to come by, since it hasn’t appeared in Nielsen’s streaming Top 10. However, a triple-digit audience increase in the first week is a pretty significant boost.
Paramount also points to owned, domestic social post performance as an indicator of the show’s growing audience, as any posts regarding School Spirits published in the first seven days after the Season 2 debut have seen eight times the total engagement of Season 1 posts in that time frame.

The ghosts in Split River High School are scary enough already, but Paramount+ just pulled a move that is far scarier.
The streaming platform announced this morning that School Spirits Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, January 30, with a three-episode drop.
While we’re excited to get some much-needed resolution to the many mysteries School Spirits Season 1 threw our way, the fact that it premieres in just over a week is concerning.

Promotion can make or break any project, so announcing a premiere date this close to the debut date doesn’t instill hope that many people will find it.
School Spirits Season 1 had a devoted audience, but it’s hard to tell whether they’ll get the message in time that new episodes are available to devour.
Genre shows are disappearing before our very eyes, and the last thing we need is for School Spirits to face a similar fate.

Premiering on Paramount+ in 2023, School Spirits is the story of Maddie Nears (Peyton List), a teenager who suddenly finds herself waking up in her high school. Maddie realizes she's dead and meets a "support group" of ghosts of students who have died over the years. The series had twists and turns as Maddie's ghostly form allows her to learn the secrets of her friends and family. She manages to talk to one fellow student for help which leads to a stunning finale.

In School Spirits season 1, the mystery surrounding Maddie's murder is not fully resolved, leaving room for further exploration in season 2, says actor Milo Manheim. The cliffhanger ending reveals that Maddie's body is possessed by Janet. This will likely lead to more potential conflict and questions ahead of season 2.
A new School Spirits season 2 update hints at where the show could be going after that cliffhanger ending. Led by Cobra Kai's Peyton List and adapted from a graphic novel, the Paramount+ supernatural teen drama tells the story of Maddie (List), a teen girl who finds herself stuck in an afterlife purgatory. To have any hope of moving on, Maddie decides she has to solve the mystery of who murdered her and why. The cast also includes Kristian Flores, Milo Manheim, and Spencer Macpherson.

What a thrill it must be as an actor to be in a film that becomes a contender for the Academy Award for Best Picture. A few even develop such an impressive resume that they have seven, eight, nine, or more of these credits to their names. Who are the actors who have starred in the most number of Best Picture nominees?
Many of the performers on this list are not a surprise, with multi-Oscar-winners such as Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Cate Blanchett and Bette Davis making the cut. Maddie’s life was cut short, but that’s almost not the worst part of being dead. Since she was murdered at her high school, Maddie’s stuck spending every minute of the afterlife roaming Split River High’s halls. Talk about being trapped in hell! Paramount+’s School Spirits follows Maddie as she attempts to solve her own murder while learning to exist (not live) with other ghosts doomed to high school purgatory.
Episode one, “My So-Called Death,” finds Maddie watching from the bleachers as the school’s assembled to discuss her disappearance. It’s obvious Maddie wasn’t the most popular student – self-involved cheerleaders can’t even remember her name – but at least her two BFFs and boyfriend are upset that she’s gone.

School is difficult enough, but it's about to be more difficult for a teenager named Maddie (played by Peyton List), tasked with solving her murder.
Paramount+ dropped the official teaser for School Spirits this week, and it looks set to be one of the most talked-about shows of the year so far.
The trailer introduces us to Maddie, a teenager who finds herself dead, and her spirit is stuck at school.
Maddie has no idea how she died, but she can see the reactions from the other students in the school as she tries to comprehend how she got stuck there.
The minute she tries to step foot off the school grounds, she's taken back to the crime scene.
It's a compelling hook for a teen drama, and the official trailer makes it seem like this one is worth watching.
