Dystopian Agricultural Sci-Fi Podcast Broken Road Wraps Ten-Episode Season
Image
(Los Angeles, CA) The dystopian science-fiction audio drama Broken Road, created by Fear The Walking Dead writer Jacob Pinion and Hero Mode producer E.J. Kavounas, has published its entire ten-episode first season, following a veteran struggling with obsolete military implants who teams up with a defiant farmer and her daughter against a corrupt, morally unhinged lawman. The first season has reached over 100K downloads.

Broken Road offers something for everyone: action-packed fight scenes, quiet moments of personal struggle, romantic tension, and human connection. At its core, it is a story of community-based resilience and resourcefulness in the face of unrelenting corporate greed and seemingly insurmountable forces. Based on the short story “Patience Lake” by Matthew Claxton, writers Pinion and Kavounas were inspired by the subject.

“I was drawn to the stark juxtaposition of near-future sci-fi within a grounded, human story about survival and the refusal to let go of the American dream,...

Okla. Couple Convicted of Murdering Nephew Missing Since 2006, Abused Him with Cattle Prod and Bamboo Sticks
More than 11 years after the disappearance of a still-missing 9-year-old Oklahoma boy, his aunt and uncle who became his adoptive parents have been convicted of murdering him, People confirms.

In fewer than three hours of deliberations, a jury on Monday convicted Rex Clark, 67, and Rebecca Clark, 61, of first-degree murder in the death of Colton Clark, whose body has not been found, Seminole County District Attorney Paul B. Smith, who prosecuted the case, tells People.

For years, the mystery of what happened to Colton had troubled law enforcement officials until a break came in 2015: That year, his older brother, T.

Chicago Pd Season 4 Episode 15 Review: Favor, Affection, Malice or Ill-Will
Was there anyone who was happy in this week's Chicago Pd? Maybe Halstead since he got a new toy. But Chicago Pd Season 4 Episode 15 was a joyless affair for everyone else.

"Favor, Affection, Malice or Ill Will" had two major storylines. The first involved a father looking for vengeance on the man that he believed murdered his daughter, but it's not a spoiler to say that the guy he believed was responsible was not the actual killer.

The Intelligence Unit re-opened Rebecca Clark's murder case and unraveled the tangled web to close it. The highlight of this was Voight throwing a guy across a counter to get information. We should start a drinking game for every time Voight does something that is way off book but yet still vastly entertaining.

She'd only been in Chicago six months when she got killed.

Voight Permalink: She'd only been in Chicago six months when she got killed.

Jonathan Abrams ready for his 'Wedding'
Relativity Media has optioned an original romantic-comedy screenplay from writer Jonathan Abrams titled "The Wedding Doctor." This is the first deal for Abrams. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Kravis and Tyler Mitchell of Dark & Stormy Entertainment are producing with John Rogers, a writer on the USA Network series "Royal Pains." "Doctor" follows an anxiety-wracked bride-to-be who gets cold feet three days before her wedding. She secretly hires a relationship analyst known as "The Wedding Doctor" to ensure she's marrying the right man. Self-interest takes over, though, when the wedding doctor determines that he is her ideal man.

John Francis Daley at an event for Pulse (2006)
Pair to rewrite 'Magician'
John Francis Daley at an event for Pulse (2006)
New York -- Actor John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are conjuring up a rewrite of the New Line/Benderspink comedy "Burt Dickenson, Most Powerful Magician on the Planet Earth."

Chad Kultgen's original screenplay follows a big-time Las Vegas illusionist whose preeminence is threatened by a younger "extreme magician."

Daley (Fox's "Bones") and fellow Endeavor client Goldstein also have another rewrite in development at Disney and Scott Rudin Prods., the family comedy "Hours of Fun."

The pair sold their comedic spec script "The $40,000 Man" to New Line and Benderspink last year, one of several projects the studio and production company have made together ("A History of Violence") or have in development ("Torrente").

Benderspink is producing "Magician" with Tyler Mitchell, who wrote the original story with Kultgen. New Line's Dave Neustadter and Richard Brener will oversee the project for the studio.
