With one episode remaining in Landman's inaugural season, all eyes turn to see how Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) and Cami (Demi Moore) will handle the inevitable cartel confrontation when the finale airs on January 12, 2025. Of course, one episode prior, "WolfCamp," featured a wildly unexpected cameo appearance from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, a master media manipulator who understands how to control a public narrative.

Then again, on closer inspection, Jones' cameo is more pertinent to Landman's themes than may first appear. His grand monologue may fudge a few facts and streamline his background, but heeding Jones' advice may be more valuable than one might expect for a show about the highly profitable oil and gas industry. As Taylor Sheridan continues to be one of the busiest scribes working on television today, the Yellowstone and Landman creator may have connected the two series through one piece of dialog. Following the fourth episode of Landman on Paramount+, fans noticed a nearly verbatim line spoken by Yellowstone's Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly). The quotation is so similar that some have suggested it's a low-key Easter Egg, while others have flat-out accused Sheridan of lazy writing.

While Sheridan may be laying the groundwork to tie in one of his multiple Yellowstone spin-offs, including 6666 and The Madison, a closer look at the repeated dialog may help clear up the facts. Whether an Easter egg or a product of hasty storytelling, it's clear that the blue-collar characters in Landman and Yellowstone do not care for those with higher education.

Angela Russo has been Landman's most unpredictable character. Tommy Norris's ex-wife, played by Resident Evil star Ali Larter, flew back from her vacation and decided to stir up trouble in Texas. But underneath her quips and country club antics, Angela still has a massive amount of unresolved feelings about Tommy and their family. How does Larter balance the two?

With Landman Season 1, Episode 4, "The Sting of Second Chances" revealing that Tommy and Angela are rekindling their relationship, Cbr spoke to Larter about her approach to her character. She also spoke about how the Paramount+ series is enabling her to play a kind of role that she hasn't portrayed since Legally Blonde. And what else drew her to Angela in the first place?

Cbr: In four episodes, Angela has definitely shaken up Landman.

As Billy Bob Thornton continues to lead Landman to success on Paramount+, viewers are learning about the unique oil industry vernacular in West Texas. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the series follows Thornton's Tommy Norris, a crisis management employee for the billion-dollar oil and gas sector. As Tommy tries to make his oil company as rich as possible, he must deal with several external factors and industry competitors.

With four episodes aired thus far, those tuning in to Landman will surely have questions about the specific professional jargon used by the roughnecks in the oil and gas industry. “Alien Country,” a new extraterrestrial invasion comedy from director and co-writer Boston McConnaughey and co-writer Renny Grames, has been acquired by Scatena & Rosner Films and set an October release, TheWrap can exclusively reveal.

The project will have a theatrical rollout with screenings in cities including Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, followed closely by an on-demand and digital release.

“After meeting Boston and Renny and getting a first glimpse of ‘Alien Country,’ I was absolutely blown away,” S&r Films director Gato Scatena said. “The footage was captivating, and I immediately knew this was a film with the potential to connect with a broad audience. In Possessions, actor Clive Standen stars as Pete, a grieving father who moves his 10-year-old son across the country after a tragic accident that took the life of his wife. Hoping to get a fresh start, he buys a storage unit facility that he thinks will be easy money but instead contains something far more sinister than peoples belongings. When his young son, Tyler (Mason Wells), begins to exhibit strange behavior, he employs the help of psychologist Dr. Young (Yeardley Smith), but he soon learns that whats happening to the boy is every fathers worst nightmare.

MovieWeb recently caught up with Clive Standen and Yeardley Smith to discuss the dark, psychological journey of their new horror film, Possessions. We touched on Smiths role in the film as both an executive producer and an actor and what intrigued Standen enough to say yes to the part.

A couple months ago, we heard that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer by giving the film a 4K release, just like they did for its predecessor I Know What You Did Last Summer last year. Now we’ve learned that the unpopular trilogy capper I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) will also be getting a new release on the same day I Still Know reaches 4K (September 26th) – but this will be a Blu-ray release instead of 4K.

Pantelion Films has debuted the trailer for an indie romantic comedy titled Everybody Loves Somebody, from Mexican filmmaker Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, about a big wedding in Mexico. Mexican actress Karla Souza (seen on "How to Get Away with Murder") stars as Clara Barron, a woman who has trouble figuring out her love life. During her trip home for a wedding, her "crazy" family provides her with some guidance for her life. The full cast includes José María Yazpik, Ben O'Toole, K.C.
