Revival is a story about dead people rising from the grave, but it's not exactly a zombie series. Those who are "revived" are more similar to how they were when they were living, though there are many big questions that remain. Wynonna Earp is back on the air... kind of. Melanie Scrofano, the titular star of the acclaimed supernatural western series that ended in 2021, has returned to Syfy to play a new enforcer of the law wrapped up in her own supernatural happenings in the new series, Revival. Instead of fighting the resurrected outlaws her great-great-grandfather gunned down years ago, however, she's now dealing with a murder mystery in a small Wisconsin town where the dead have risen from the Earth with their original personalities, memories, and appearances still intact. The first episode premiered on Thursday, but to get more viewers interested in the twisty new supernatural tale, SyFy has now made "Don't Tell Dad" available to watch for free on YouTube before the show gets into full swing.

Comic book adaptations of indie comics can hit the ground running if the tone of a comic has been fully explored. However, the adaptation process still requires a steady hand, and Syfy’s latest series, Revival, has that from the jump. Co-created by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, the adaptation of Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s comic builds from an interesting foundation. Grounding the story from the point of view of a family, the undead horror-comedy is one of the best shows in years from Syfy. With plenty of heart and fun characters, Revival deserves to be a big hit for the genre network.

Wynonna Earp star Melanie Scrofano returns to headline another Syfy series with Revival, based on Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s popular Image Comics series. Season one will premiere on June 12, 2025, with new episodes airing on Thursdays at 10pm Et/Pt.

“On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased have suddenly come back to life. But this is no zombie story as the ‘revived’ appear and act just like they once were. As the mystery of this phenomenon fuels unrest, Officer and single mother Dana Cypress is thrust into the center of an unusual murder investigation—one where the murder victim is alive,” reads Syfy’s synopsis. “And now, it is up to Dana to unravel the truth amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion, where everyone, living or revived, is a suspect.”

Revival has its premiere date. The new supernatural drama will arrive on Syfy next month, and the network has released a trailer teasing the new series.

Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen star in the series, which follows the events in a small town after the dead come back to life. Steven Ogg, Phil Brooks (Cm Punk), Gia Sandhu, Katherine King So, Maia Jae, Nathan Dales, Mark Little, Glen Gould, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and Conrad Coates also appear in the series.

Syfy and Peacock have released the first teaser trailer for Revival and how this is going to be your next creepy summer binge series! With summer upon us, cable and streamers are ready to fill the gap of the networks with big shows. Syfy is, of course, ready to unleash its original series fare and has been working on Revival, one of the more unique comic book adaptations.

The graphic novel from Image Comics debuted in 2012, written by Tim Seeley with art by Mike Norton. It's been a long journey to making it into a TV show with showrunners Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce. Koontz talked of it in 2024:

"The four-year journey to get here was tough, but Revival has been the most creatively fulfilling journey of my life. Yes, it is daunting and, at times, completely insane. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm at home in the chaos.

USA and Syfy announced premiere dates for the new season of Resident Alien starring Alan Tudyk and the series premiere of Revival. Fans will get to catch up with their favorite visitor from outer space when Resident Alien returns for season four on June 6, 2025 at 11pm Et/Pt on USA and Syfy. Revival, based on the Image Comics series, debuts on Syfy on June 12th at 10pm Et/Pt.

NBCUniversal has announced that Resident Alien Season 4 will premiere on Friday, June 6 at 11 p.m. Et/Pt on both USA and Syfy, while the series premiere of the comic adaptation Revival debuts on Thursday, June 12 at 10 p.m. on Syfy.

The episodes from both series will be available to stream on Peacock one week after they air on USA and Syfy.

Based on the Dark Horse comics, Resident Alien follows a crash-landed alien named Harry and his life on planet Earth. The fourth season starts with Harry and his baby, Bridget, stuck in prison on the Grey Moonbase, while a shape-shifting Alien called a Mantid has taken over his body on Earth, passing himself off as the real Harry Vanderspeigle.

Harry manages to escape the Greys and arrives back on Earth for a showdown with the Mantid Alien, but soon finds he may not have what he needs to finish the job.

The dead come back to life in “Revival,” but this isn’t a zombie series. Syfy is bringing the comic book adaptation to the small screen, and the official trailer has arrived.

“Revival” premieres Thursday, June 12 at 10pm Et/Pt on Syfy. Each episode will head to Peacock the following week.

Almost a year after Resident Alien moved from Syfy to NBCUniversal sibling USA Network with a suspenseful Season 4 renewal, a premiere date has been set for said Season 4 and, surprisingly, it involves both the sci-fi comedy-drama’ new and old homes.

The new season of Resident Alien will debut June 6 as a simulcast on USA and Syfy. The decision to keep the show on Syfy in addition to its USA run reportedly came in the months following the Season 4 renewal. FX’s Fargo season five episode eight, the season’s penultimate episode, is one of the series’ finest hours of storytelling. It opens with Ole Munch (Sam Spruell) punishing Gator (Joe Keery) for his innumerable acts of cruelty, topped off by the murder of Ole’s elderly mother.

Gator tries to bribe Ole into letting him go, but Ole doesn’t care one iota about promises of women, weapons, or cash. Tied to a chair, Gator can only whimper and beg as he realizes Ole’s about to take a red-hot knife to his eyes. An eye for an eye, correct? “This for that,” says Ole, adding, “What is taken must be given.”

Over at the Tillman Ranch, Dot (Juno Temple) is back in the game after a brief moment of despair at the end of episode seven.

Fargo is finally back for another season after taking a three year long break. Created by Noah Hawley, the FX’s anthology black comedy–crime drama series is based on a 1996 film of the same name and it revolves around a new set of characters in Minnesota and North Dakota in the fall of 2019. Fargo Season 5 revolves around Dorothy “Dot” Lyon, who at first glance seems to be a typical midwestern wife but when her mysterious past comes back to haunt her she gets in trouble with the law, specifically North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman.

“Welcome to Marwen” is, in a word, indescribable. But not in a good way.

Robert Zemeckis, who directed “Forrest Gump,” one of the most iconic underdog movies of all time, returns with another male protagonist with a remarkable story. But this time the filmmaker doesn’t quite seem to connect with his subject, which makes for an even greater disconnect with the audience.

Gaining empathy for a protagonist such as the one in “Marwen” shouldn’t really be an issue, though. This is, after all, the real-life story of Mark Hogancamp (played by Steve Carell), who was beaten so terribly by five men outside a bar in 2000 that it left him without most of his memory of the event and everything before then — horrific details that were previously revisited in the acclaimed 2010 documentary, “Marwencol.”

For this TV reviewer, Defiance is very much like a favourite meal that’s been made with the odd ingredient that I really don’t care for. For as much as I like the predominant flavour, picking through the contents impairs the overall culinary experience.

Parts of season 2 certainly left a slightly bad taste in the mouth. While many characters and situations were set up as being massively threatening, such as Pottinger and E-Rep, none delivered even a tenth of their hyped potential. It also suffered from an inclination to try to weave a worlds-collide epic narrative with mostly rather ordinary characters, even if some of them are well formed.

In a candid new interview for Oprah Winfrey's show Oprah: Where Are They Now?, she calls out MTV producers for manipulating her love life for the sake of TV drama.

"You know, Laguna Beach was tough because I felt very used and manipulated," she says bluntly. Chicago – Every great film is a delicate balance of a number of critical elements. Good films lack in one department while mediocre films have serious gaps that stick out like a red dress at a funeral. The overall mediocre “Tron: Legacy” is exceedingly fixated on its impressive visual effects while neglecting to focus on creating an evocative and humanized story.

Despite its big-budget use of special effects, you aren’t emotionally connected to its characters or plot. Following the ahead-of-its-time 1982 film “Tron” with Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, Bridges reprises his roles in 2010’s “Tron: Legacy” with the duality of both Kevin Flynn and Clu. Boxleitner also returns as both Alan Bradley and Tron.

Perhaps surprisingly for some, “Tron: Legacy” is less about the actual character that is Tron and is much more focused on Jeff Bridges’ characters along with his son, Sam Flynn (played by Garrett Hedlund). And...
