He received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters at the University of Saskatchewan, his alma mater, on June 6, 2017.

In the mid-1980s, he was a familiar face to audiences at Neptune Theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He appeared in many productions including "West Side Story", "Twelfth Night" and "Romeo and Juliet".

Father of daughters Kyla and Brenna.

Guest-starring role as Internal Affairs Agent Richard Sullens on "Prison Break" (March 2007)

He is the only actor to appear in both the pilot and the series finale of The Outer Limits (1995). He played Dave Stockley in Sandkings (1995) and Colonel Sage in Human Trials (2002).
