During one of his interviews, Jordan Peele briefly spoke about the aches of writing a horror film. He finds it particularly difficult to convince the audience of his characters willingly putting themselves in dangerous situations – especially the kind that you see in horror films. Oftentimes, they do not use their common sense as they act in a scary situation. After all, as humans, it’s our natural tendency to avoid trouble and protect ourselves. So, it certainly takes genuine persuasion skills to convince the audience of a character’s audience. When it comes to ‘The Man in the White Van’, similar questions take centre stage.
Set in a small town in 1970s Florida, the film follows a family governed by traditional American values of sophistication. In this case, the family patriarch, William (Sean Astin), is not an authoritarian brute. However, as the ‘man in the house’, he definitely makes most of the decisions for others.

The Man In The White Van's Warren Skeels On Balancing True Story With Horror & Casting Madison Wolfe
Warren Skeels is jumping into the director's chair for his first movie with The Man in the White Van. Skeels previously got his start in the entertainment industry in front of the camera, co-starring in everything from the ABC family comedy Summertime Switch to the drama Surfacing: Aka A Letter from My Father, which he also wrote and produced, while future two-time Emmy nominee Craig Zobel (Mare of Easttown) directed. Skeels went on to make a name for himself as the co-creator of the MTV reality show, Siesta Key, which ran for five seasons on the network.
Skeels has partnered with Sharon Y. Cobb to co-write and direct The Man in the White Van, which marks his feature directorial debut. The movie is based on the true story of Billy Mansfield Jr., a serial killer, child molester and sex offender who, throughout the '70s and early '80s, committed...

Stars: Madison Wolfe, Brec Bassinger, Gavin Warren, Ali Larter, Sean Astin, Tom Gillen, Skai Jackson, Noah Lomax | Written by Warren Skeels, Sharon Y. Cobb | Directed by Warren Skeels
Based in part on the real-life crimes of Billy Mansfield Jr., The Man in the White Van is a 1970s set thriller from director Warren Skeels and co-writer Sharon Y. Cobb. It opens with a prologue set in 1970 showing the killer at work before jumping ahead to 1975 where Annie is riding her horse while Edgar Winter’s “Free Ride” plays on the soundtrack.
Annie is the middle child, with an older sister, Margaret who is about to be presented at the Debutant’s Ball, and a gun-obsessed younger brother Daniel.
Her parents Hellen and William wish she was more like Margaret rather than a tomboy who’s more interested in riding horses than being proper or caring if her legs are properly shaved.
