Goldsberry returns to Broadway after starring in Netflix’s Girls5eva and rising to fame in the original cast of Hamilton, where she won a Tony and Grammy Award. Thomas, known for his role as John-Boy Walton in the television series The Waltons, as well as Ozark and The Americans, recently starred on Broadway in Leon’s Our Town, and starred as Atticus Finch in the touring production of To Kill A Mockingbird.

I've recently been on a disaster movie kick. Perhaps it's because everything seems a little bleak right now. Or perhaps I just needed something brainless to watch — disaster movies can be fun, but let's be honest: they're not exactly high art. As I went from one disaster movie to another, a curious theme began to arise. In addition to these films all following a similar set-up, in which we see famous landmarks and buildings completely obliterated by destruction, they also all seem to share a similar plot element: the hero/main character is almost always going through a divorce or separation, or already divorced from their spouse. When Hallmark+ was announced in summer 2024, it was revealed that Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas movies would not be added to the app.

“‘Countdown to Christmas’ remains a linear experience,” Hallmark Media’s EVP of Programming, Lisa Hamilton Daly told Variety at the time.

She added, “The content on the app is going to be Holidazed, Mistletoe Murders, our unscripted shows and a couple of movie trilogies coming up that we haven’t announced yet. There’s going to be a bunch of holiday content, but it’s going to be separate and different from what’s on linear.”

Well, Hallmark is giving fans a special gift before Christmas by adding nearly all of this year’s new movies.

15 movies have already been added and there are 24 more movies being added on Friday (December 20).

Hallmark+ is available for $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Subscribers will also get Hallmark Store rewards for having a membership.

In Roland Emmerich's 1996 sci-fi action movie, Goldblum played satellite engineer David Levinson, who is swept up in an extraterrestrial invasion. It was merely two years ago that Hallmark fans everywhere discovered the true magic of Christmas when three Hallmark Hunks tapped into their brotherhood for Three Wise Men and a Baby.

A play on Three Men and a Baby, Paul Campbell & Kimberley Sustad created a fun, family Christmas movie starring Campell, Tyler Hynes, and Andrew Walker and brought the theatrical film’s Margaret Colin along for the ride.

The result was pure joy, with a story packed with holiday sentiment, family frustrations, and great love.

Three Wise Men and a Baby, which premiered on Nov. 19 as part of Countdown to Christmas, averaged 2.9 million homes, 411,000 women 25-54, and 3.6 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. It was ad-supported cable’s most-watched movie of the year to-date among homes, viewers, women 18+, persons 18+, women 25-54, and women 18-34.

The movie stars Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, and Paul Campbell as three brothers who find themselves caring for a baby that was left anonymously at the firehouse. Campbell co-wrote the movie with frequent co-star Kimberly Sustad, who makes a cameo appearance in the film. The movie also features Margaret Colin, who starred in the 1987 movie Three Men and a Baby.

Countdown to Christmas is now in its sixth week.

Changing things up is working for Hallmark Channel, as their “Three Wise Men and a Baby” has become the most-watched cable TV movie of the year.
