John Cena has made some good movies, and he has made some absolute dross. One of the latter is the 2011 movie The Reunion, which has found a surprising new audience since landing on Tubi this month. The film falls very much into the category that made many question whether Cena could make it as an actor, with the wrestler-turned-actor's attempt to deliver a nuanced performance falling mostly flat. Cena plays Sam, a suspended cop who gets caught up in a dangerous scheme while attempting to claim the inheritance left to him and his siblings by their late father. To many, the nuance was very much lost, and this was not the John Cena that would end up leading several huge franchise projects a decade later.

When it came out, The Reunion was one of Cena’s first movies, and, as would be pointed out by several critics, it was one of several critical bombs.

The latest episode of “The Morning Show” packed a topical conversation about systemic racism in media into one of its classic showdowns. In the aftermath of a companywide data leak, the Apple TV+ drama saw Uba Board President Cybil Richards (Holland Taylor) and “Morning Show” anchor Christina Hunter (Nicole Beharie) go on air together to discuss disparaging comments the media executive made during the former Olympian’s hiring process in a now-public email.

Executive producer Mimi Leder — who directed the first two episodes, the sixth and the finale of the most recent season — said Season 3 examines the layers of racism, ageism and politics impacting the legacy media business through Uba’s struggles. These pressure points reach a peak when the value of diversity in the Uba newsroom and network come into question following the cyber attack into the system in Episode 3.

On paper, few 2017 releases should be safer Academy Award plays than Suburbicon. After all, it has George Clooney behind the camera, the Coen Brothers co-writing, as well as Matt Damon and Julianne Moore in starring roles. Throw in a supporting turn from Oscar Isaac and the ingredients are all there for something irresistible. And yet, this is one of the year’s more disappointing films. It opens in theaters this week and will hope to reverse the at best mixed buzz that has followed the flick on the fall festival circuit. The first trailer has been released for the crazy yet fun looking dark comedy Suburbicon. The film was written and directed by George Clooney and, as you'll see, it has a bit of a Coen Brothers flair to it. The movie looks freakin' great! I love the unexpected wild, dark, craziness of it all. This movie is gonna be a lot of fun to watch!

Universal Pictures has released a nearly 4-minute long clip from The Purge: Anarchy. It's an intense scene in which Frank Grillo's character encounters a mother and daughter in need of help. He is originally out for revenge, but he makes a very dangerous decision here that changes his whole course for the night.

The scene also features several of the other characters in the story played by Jack Conley, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez, Zoe Soul, Justina Machado, and John Beasley. The movie is set to be released on July 18th.

Whether it’s beneficial for the show‘s development, which remains to be seen, it is most certainly a ballsy move on the writers’ end. NCIS Searches for an Enemy on the Hill

A man runs into traffic and is hit by a car as he tries to avoid a TV news crew. The crew rushes over to help the man, and we see he has a gun in a shoulder holster. DC Metro Detective Sportelli (Jack Conley) comes into NCIS headquarters with news he’s arrested the man, who is actually a wanted professional killer known as The Cooler. Furthermore, The Cooler’s next target was apparently Navy Lt. Cmdr. Geoffrey Brett (Brett Tucker), a Top Gun aviator turned advisor to the House Armed Services Committee.

Advised of the threat on his life, Brett was reluctant to accept NCIS’s protection, but Gibbs assigned Ziva as his bodyguard while the rest of the team looked into who might have hired The Cooler.

Delko (Adam Rodriguez) has a check up with his doctor who gives him the all-clear to return to work. There he bumps into Alexx (Khandi Alexander) who is called to an emergency. An unconscious woman is rushed in with respiratory failure. Lauren's boyfriend, Ethan (Bobby Campo) describes her as mumbling and complaining of her head hurting. Lauren dies and Alexx suspects she was poisoned. They need Horatio (David Caruso). Delko believes Ethan killed her and he was fooled by him having an engagement ring and wouldn't look him in the eye. There could be lots of reasons for that and doesn't mean he's a killer. Alexx has sent Lauren's blood and tissues to the lab. Monarch Video has a pair of very different genre films set for DVD release in the coming months. First up is the true-life serial-killer film The Gray Man, followed by the Sci Fi Channel monster mash War Wolves; see the art for both below.

Gray Man, directed by Scott L. Flynn and streeting April 28, tells the story of a detective (Jack Conley) attempting to track down Albert Fish (played by Phenomena’s Patrick Bauchau), a child killer/cannibal, in the early 20th century.

War Wolves, written and directed by and starring Michael Worth, deals with a special ops team tracking a lycanthropic soldier even as three of its female members have also been afflicted by the monstrous curse. The cast also includes genre faves John Saxon, Tim Thomerson and Adrienne Barbeau, and the street date is June 23. Both discs present the movies in widescreen, with no special features currently announced; retail price is $24.95 each.

Nicolas Cage, Steve Buscemi and Tracy Morgan will be three of the lead voices in G-Force, for Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Bill Nighy and Will Arnett also have joined the ranks of the human actors in the live-action/CG film, which marks the directorial debut of Oscar-winning visual effects innovator Hoyt Yeatman.

The story follows a group of ultra-intelligent animal commandoes who work for a government agency trying to prevent an evil billionaire from taking over the world. Cage will play Speckles, a mole; Buscemi will portray Bucky, a hamster; and Morgan will voice Blaster, a guinea pig. Nighy will portray an industrialist, and Arnett will play an FBI agent.

Live-action leads also include Zach Galifianakis, Kelli Garner, Gabriel Casseus and Jack Conley.

Production is currently under way in Los Angeles. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing. Executive producing are Bruckheimer Films' Mike Stenson and Chad Oman, along with Duncan Henderson.

"It's a good story; it's unique characters, it's half animation, half live action," Bruckheimer told The Hollywood Reporter.

Pot-smoking duo Harold and Kumar are making another run, and they've added 11 actors to the quest.

David Krumholtz, Neil Patrick Harris, Rob Corddry, Christopher Meloni, Ed Helms, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Paula Garces, Jack Conley, Roger Bart, Danneel Harris and Eric Winter will join John Cho and Kal Penn in Harold & Kumar 2 for Mandate Pictures and New Line Cinema.

The sequel is set in motion on the same morning that Harold and Kumar finally satisfy their munchies at White Castle and the object of Harold's affection, Maria (Garces), sets off for Amsterdam. The pair decide to pursue her so Harold can proclaim his love. But when an overzealous passenger mistakes Kumar for a terrorist, the plane is diverted and the boys are off on a new escapade of mistaken identity. From Guantanamo Bay through the Deep South, Harold and Kumar encounter myriad wackos, jerks and whores as they are pursued by the Department of Homeland Security all the way into Bush Country.
