Lifetime will tear through three “Ripped From the Headlines” films this September.

The network has set consecutive debuts for Saturdays in September for (working title) A Husband to Die For: The Lisa Aguilar Story starring Keana Lyn Bastidas, Jon McLaren and veteran star Marilu Henner on Sept. 13; The Girl Who Survived: The Alina Thompson starring Sam Trammell, Ashley Jones, Brielle Robillard and Steve Byers on Sept. 20; and I Was a Child Bride: the Courtney Stodden Story starring Holly J. Barrett as Stodden, Doug Savant as her actor husband Doug Hutchinson, and Maggie Lawson as Stodden’s mother, Krista, on Sept. 27.

Lifetime confirmed the below details on the three projects, all of which were inspired by true life tales.

The central premise of writer Stephen Romano’s Lifetime movie Don’t Let Him Find You is nearly identical to that of David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence: a life-changing event in an everyday citizen’s life is captured on the news, propelling them into the spotlight and revealing that they once had a completely separate – and dangerous – former life.

In Violence, Viggo Mortensen’s character Tom was <spoilers for a ~20 year old film> a hit-man who left a life of crime life behind. In Don’t Let Him Find You, Alex McDowell (Brianna Cohen) has a similarly violent past, captured by director Christine Conradt in slightly hazy, washed-out flashbacks.

Alex is plagued by nightmares of a battle with a woman, eventually revealed to be her sister Ashley (Ella Frazee). The outcome was deadly and Alex fled, changing her name, cutting ties with her powerful mother, and spending the ensuing 15 years flying under the radar. During that time,...

Hallmark Mystery has announced a new, exciting mystery movie, Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 for Murder. Starring Holland Roden and Chris McNally, the movie premieres on Friday, June 7. Amazon has announced that Season 3 of “Absentia” will premiere on Prime Video on July 17. There is a new crime thriller developing from production company Imagination Worldwide. The title of the film is Secrets from the Past and the film follows a young woman, who leads a double life. After witnessing the murder of a friend by a "crime syndicate" (Imagination), Kate (Ashley Jones) goes into hiding to protect herself. The tagline promises some excitement as now: "it is time to tell the truth" (Imagination). Secrets from the Past stars Antonio Sabato Jr. (Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas) Michael Woods, Nicole deBoer, and Al Sapienza. More of the mystery is revealed below.

Doug Campbell's indie Home Invasion was written by Christine Conradt and begins lensing March 8th in Los Angeles. It tells the story of a single mother who fatally shoots a burglar in self-defense and then joins a support group where she makes a friend, not knowing her new pal is the burglar's girlfriend seeking revenge. It may be his first feature film, but director Geo Santini proves he can piece together an edgy, dramatic thriller with style.

"Geo brought so much vision to this film," screenwriter Christine Conradt said. "He's incredibly talented."

Set in Los Angeles, "Hotel California" stars Erik Palladino in an ultra-cool performance that leaves you wanting a sequel. With a cast that includes Tyson Beckford, Simon Rex and Tatyana Ali, the movie centers around the reunion of three former partners in a world of drugs, crime and violence, and questions where their loyalties now lie.

Conradt, who wrote the screenplay for "Hotel California" explained what makes the story so compelling.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that it will release a new psychochiller starring Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in Twilight and the upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The only thing known about the film’s plot at this stage is that Green’s character will encounter a family of serial killers while she’s looking for the father she’s never met.

Stephen McHattie, Barbara Niven and Peter Mooney recently boarded the project and will play the members of the murderous family.

I was shocked tonight to discover that the film is already halfway through its Ottawa shoot, with Lee De Marbre behind the camera. This weekend Cannibal Holocaust director Ruggero Deodato updated the progress of his companion piece, Cannibals, which he is slated to direct in the near future (hopefully). Icons of Fright reports,"He told the Fango audience that the script was complete and that shooting was scheduled to begin in September of this year. However, he confessed to us that the producer wanted him to change one thing from the script, and Deodato doesn't want to compromise. So, shooting won't begin until he can resolve this one discrepancy with the producer of Cannibals." The screenplay is by Christine Conradt, click the title for the poster.
